00:00The illegal alien truck driver charged in a deadly wreck is set to make his first court
00:07appearance today. He's facing vehicular homicide charges in deportation. Florida's Lieutenant
00:12Governor Jay Collins personally escorting the illegal alien from the sanctuary state of
00:16California where he was given a commercial driver's license. He joins us now with more
00:22details. Lieutenant Governor, thank you for taking time today. Why was this individual
00:27when people hear this horrific story, this illegal alien driver, Harjinder Singh, makes this U-turn
00:34in a, you know, official only zone where people are coming the other direction, 70 miles an hour,
00:41three lives were lost. Why was this individual allowed to even obtain a commercial driver's
00:48license? Well, thank you for having me on today. And that's the biggest question right now. 2018,
00:54he illegally crossed the border. How did somebody who failed three out of 16 questions
00:59on the roadside exam manage to get a CDL in any state? And he did it in two, Washington and California.
01:05Again, this is an indictment on Gavin Newsom, his failed policies and his lack of leadership,
01:10and frankly, his lack of focus on American citizens and the American people. It's unacceptable.
01:16This is why President Trump has a mandate from the American people to fix this problem.
01:19And you went personally to escort him back. Why did you feel that was necessary?
01:26Well, you know, I'm a military guy. I did 23 years in the Army. Most of it is a Green Beret.
01:30And I know that leadership matters. Being up front, being there to deal with whatever comes up
01:35is important. So I don't know about you, but I didn't have a whole lot of faith that Gavin Newsom
01:40wasn't going to do something, that something wasn't going to pop up. He needs to come back here.
01:44Three innocent lives were cut short, three lives lost because of failed policies in California,
01:50because somebody who shouldn't have had a CDL was here driving. And frankly, we got to let our
01:54citizens know, Floridians know that we've got their back. We take this seriously and we will not fail
01:59them. Lieutenant Governor, as we're watching video of you literally physically escorting him,
02:05what was he like? Did he show remorse? And how was his English?
02:09Well, his English was broken at best. And frankly, he showed no remorse. He was not very
02:17conversational. And ultimately, on the roadside, I think you heard our sheriff talk about that.
02:23He didn't show anything, just a blank slate, completely uncaring about what happened. Three
02:30lives lost on the side of the road. Didn't even go check on him. That's heartbreaking and it's
02:35unacceptable.
02:35And Lieutenant Governor, I just want to quickly get to where this goes next.
02:41Well, I'll tell you, this thing goes next. We're going to keep pushing him. We're going to throw the
02:45book at him if that's how this goes. He's got three counts of vehicular manslaughter. That's up to 30
02:51years itself. So he's going to do some time. And when he's done with that, then he'll get deported back
02:58to wherever he came from. But ultimately, we've got to stay aggressive. President Trump has a mandate
03:02from the American people. Florida has led on this issue. I would love to see other states step
03:08beside us, be bold, support the president's approach, like Governor Ron DeSantis has. Florida
03:13leads from the front. We have to take this seriously. That's what the American people want to see.
03:18All right. Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins, thank you for the update. We will continue to follow
03:22this story. Have a good weekend. I appreciate you having me on. Thank you.
