00:00...or with big money interest here in the United States.
00:10Artificial intelligence and robotics are going to transform our economy and the world.
00:19The oligarchs are currently spending hundreds of billions of dollars in AI and robotics.
00:27Now, let me ask you a question. I want an honest answer.
00:29Don't tell me what you think I want to hear.
00:32How many people think, as presently constituted, AI and robotics will improve life for ordinary people?
00:43How many people think that will hurt ordinary people?
00:49It's interesting. That is the response, that's the response I've been getting in a lot of places.
00:56Here's what we should know.
00:59Now, in 50 years ago or so, you know, with the development of all kinds of new technology, including cell phones, including computers, including flat screen TVs, all of this stuff, you would think,
01:14consider an interesting point, you would think that the American people say, wow, life is getting better.
01:20All right, I'm going to ask you another question.
01:23Pew Research, they're quite a reputable research company, they did a poll a few years ago.
01:28And this is the question they asked the American people.
01:31I'm going to ask it you.
01:32And again, don't tell me what I want to hear.
01:34The question was, do you believe that somebody in your position, somebody whose life is like yours, middle class, lower class, upper class, whatever you may be,
01:43do you think life was better 50 years ago for that person or life is better today?
01:50Well, what do you guys think?
01:52Was life better 50 years ago or life better today?
01:54Raise your hand if you think life was better, is better today.
01:57Okay, raise your hand if you think life was better 50 years ago.
02:07Okay, well, that's right.
02:08That's a good point.
02:10That is a very good point.
02:12So what we have, here's the point.
02:14Clearly, from our perspective, there have been positive changes.
