00:00If there's any directors out there who want to work with us, we're available.
00:03Also, Matthew McConaughey is going to be there.
00:05Dude, come on!
00:07Guys, you've really thrown everything at this.
00:10Like, when they say it's a wild ride, it really, really is.
00:14Let's start off in the desert, though.
00:16What was that like filming out there?
00:18Because that looked wild.
00:19Chafing.
00:20Chafing, yeah, lots of sand.
00:22Sand places you don't want sand.
00:24But what I did love about the show is that we actually looked like...
00:27The makeup was so, like, they get the tan lines right.
00:31And I wanted that.
00:32I was like, I want to look like we've been in the desert for years.
00:35We're sweating.
00:36And that's what you get that feeling from the start.
00:38Yeah, it's like natural contouring, isn't it?
00:40Yes, yes.
00:41That's what we all want.
00:42A little bit of natural contouring.
00:43Yeah, it was hectic, man.
00:44But that's what the characters are going for, and it's great.
00:46And it was hot, but it was a beautiful place.
00:49Alfie, did you get to that driving yourself, or did they have stuff?
00:53No, no, no, I did a lot of it myself.
00:54Yeah?
00:55I mean, I just enjoy driving anyway.
00:58So to be able to do it on those surfaces with loads of different types of vehicles, it was really, really fun.
01:05You had no seat belts.
01:06I was just like, yeah, I'm fine.
01:07I'm great.
01:08I'm supposed to look like really scary and intimidating.
01:10I was crapping myself.
01:11That was the first day in that...
01:13Oh, I can't say it.
01:14I kept on wanting to say what the car was, but I can't say it.
01:16But it was, yeah, they said, yep, just go for it.
01:19And I did.
01:20And it was great.
01:21It was great.
01:22Did you get to have a go driving at all?
01:23I'm just a passenger.
01:24Okay.
01:25I was just a passenger.
01:26I just hold my guns and trying to break.
01:28Look great.
01:29Yeah.
01:30Look great doing that.
01:31Although, what was the toughest part of this?
01:32Because I feel like they had you running a lot.
01:34I was like, are you not constantly out of breath on this shoot?
01:37Yeah.
01:38That running sequence was quite a lot.
01:41Oh, there's a whole sequence, yeah.
01:43Quite a lot.
01:44Yeah, that was a lot.
01:45Because we're carrying these bags.
01:47Yeah.
01:48That was a lot.
01:49But that's the journey.
01:50I mean, it's great because it's sort of the odyssey of what they're doing, yeah.
01:53Yeah, exactly.
01:54No, it was...
01:55Was that the toughest part?
01:56Or was that the...
01:57What would you say?
01:58Was the toughest part of this whole shoot?
01:59Well, I mean, you know, it being one hell of a ride.
02:02So much.
02:03Emotional, physical.
02:04But yeah, for me, the first day was quite tough.
02:08Because I started off with this huge stunt which takes place in the first minute of the first episode.
02:14And so, that was quite tough.
02:16But it was...
02:17It kind of helped me just get a kind of flavour of what was to come.
02:20And also, whatever I can use in real life to the kind of betterment of the character and the environment that he's in constantly.
02:28That definitely set me up well for the rest of the shoot.
02:30Yeah.
02:31There was a...
02:32There was a one that was hard, which we had to keep doing a fight that was in one shot.
02:35Oh, yes.
02:36But it was getting late and it was a...
02:37The first day is always weird because I think that's tough just because you're trying to find the vibe.
02:42Yeah.
02:43And then once you've got it, you're like, oh, let's go.
02:45Yeah.
02:46I loved seeing how the relationship between the two of them developed through this, though.
02:50Like, almost a brotherhood, but not quite.
02:53Yeah.
02:54But how was it for you two on a personal level?
02:56Like, was there anything about the other that surprised you when you met each other?
03:00Like, working on this together?
03:02I just...
03:03Well, I knew he was a great actor anyway.
03:04And I knew we were both going to bring it.
03:06But he was just a beautiful guy.
03:07Beautiful human being.
03:08And then we were watching football together.
03:09That's the best way to come in.
03:10Dude!
03:11Come on!
03:12No, thank you.
03:13Yeah.
03:14I mean, I was just very grateful that when we met...
03:18You know, we're two London guys, do you know what I mean?
03:20And so, immediately, that was kind of something where I was like, okay, you know, I think we're going to get along.
03:25And the Euros was on, so we were both just watching loads of football together.
03:29And, yeah, it was just a blessing to be able to go, okay, cool.
03:33I think this isn't going to be something where it feels like a challenge to kind of get through this.
03:41I think we kind of both really helped each other get through it.
03:43Have you got opposing football teams?
03:45Same football team.
03:46Same football team.
03:47Who is it?
03:48Arsenal.
03:49Oh, good.
03:50All three of us.
03:51Come on.
03:52Come on.
03:53No Spurs fans.
03:54One L, one L.
03:55For you though, Shahzad, with your character in particular, was it tough to get the tone right for who he is?
04:02Yeah, because there's elements of comedy.
04:05You're trying to make sure the balance of light and dark is just...
04:08Even though they've written it, but then stuff happens on set that you get from a scene that might...
04:13You know, you're trying to balance the comedy and the series, basically.
04:16Which is always hard to know because you're filming stuff out of order and what they're going to edit and what they're going to cut.
04:21So, yeah, you never know.
04:23It's sort of left in the hands of the producers, directors, writers, editors.
04:26I mean, it's after you give what you can give, but yeah.
04:31Are you happy with how it all came out?
04:33Absolutely.
04:34Yeah, absolutely more than happy.
04:35I can't wait for people to see it.
04:37I genuinely think or hope that people are really going to enjoy it.
04:41And your character very much thinks that things are written.
04:44Do you guys believe that?
04:45Or do you think we make our own destiny?
04:48I mean, I could sit here and talk to you about a lot of different fate, destiny, all that kind of stuff.
04:53Ayahuasca.
04:54We could get into it, but I don't think this is the right place. I don't know.
04:58But on that one, do you think things are written or do you think?
05:01I think it's a bit of both, maybe. Who knows?
05:04It's like something mixed between interstellar, like Matthew McConaughey and something at the end, like that kind of stuff.
05:09It's got to be something like that.
05:10Yeah.
05:11Tell me about Alfie.
05:12I like to think, yeah, that things aren't really in my control. Do you know what I mean?
05:16Yeah.
05:17So I'd agree with Shehzad and just say that it's a kind of mix of the two. But essentially, you know, it's, yeah, I like to leave things to fate.
05:27Also, Matthew McConaughey is going to be there. He'll be there. Still looking. Murph! He's still looking at Murph.
05:33Murph! He's just there for everyone.
05:36And like I said, I've loved seeing the two of you on screen together. So if you could do another project together, what kind of thing do you think you'd like to do?
05:43Something completely opposite. So what would it be? Maybe a kind of silent movie thing?
05:49That's why we were just talking about Laura Hardy.
05:51Yeah.
05:52Yeah, you know, I'd be up for that. I'd be up for a silent movie.
05:55Bring them back.
05:57Or it doesn't have to be silent, but it's in that era.
06:00Yeah, I think that'd be a good shout. I like that. Or, you know.
06:06Chat about it over a football game. That's what you can do when you're having a beer.
06:11Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:12I'd like to see you two working together. It was a really nice pairing.
06:14If there's any directors out there who want to be with us, we're available. Come on.
06:18And you do a great job, guys. Thank you so much.
06:22Really lovely to see you again.
06:23Good to see you again.
