Enjoying herself at the UK premiere of ‘Ready or Not 2: Ready or Not’ in London, Kathryn Newton jumped in on Sarah Michelle Gellar’s, and then the directors Radio Silence’s interviews.

When it was finally her turn for the spotlight, Kathryn shared her memories of being a roadie in London, keeping it cool in front of noughties icons, and she expertly dodges giving away any Marvel spoilers for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. 00:00We're such great actors, aren't we?
00:01We actually can't stand each other, and we're just acting, right?
00:04Oh my God, it shows, guys.
00:05We're just acting.
00:05We're just acting.
00:06No, no fun.
00:07We're just acting.
00:08We don't love each other at all.
00:09I love you so much.
00:10I love you, too.
00:11Hit him up, see if he'd be interested.
00:13Hey, what's up?
00:13Hey, it's Katherine.
00:14How's it going?
00:14You may recognize her.
00:15You probably heard that she was in it.
00:16Let's talk about David Cronenberg.
00:17David Cronenberg's in the movie.
00:18He didn't have any scenes with David Cronenberg, but I'm sure he was thinking about you the whole time.
00:23He had so many notes for me.
00:25He wrote me a letter.
00:26I got to meet him one day.
00:28Yeah, you didn't get to meet him?
00:29No.
00:31I photoshopped enough of him.
00:32You've been so good.
00:32You've made cameos in all my interviews.
00:33I just have a really good idea.
00:34I'm going to share with you later.
00:35Okay.
00:35Yeah, it's really good.
00:37Hey, welcome to London.
00:39Share your memories with me at the place, actually.
00:40I know you've been here on press tours before, but what are your earliest, funnest memories
00:44of arriving in the UK?
00:45Of London?
00:45Oh, man.
00:46I bet you're allowed to share with us, I guess.
00:47When I was 18, my best friend Grace and I took a trip here.
00:52She was in a band, it was called The Pink Slips, and I was the roadie, and I did the
00:57merch
00:57for the band.
00:59Barely.
01:00What is a roadie?
01:01They're supposed to carry stuff.
01:02I didn't carry anything.
01:03I spilled milkshakes in the back of the tour van, okay?
01:06And then I did Pokemon Detective Pikachu here when I was pretty young.
01:09Life-changing moment.
01:11I thought I had accomplished all my dreams.
01:13And then I did Ant-Man, a Marvel movie shot out here, too.
01:17And that changed my life.
01:18So London is a place where I relate my dreams coming true.
01:23It's a really magical place, and I have two co-workers here tonight.
01:27My friend Jonah Howard King from Little Women and Vanessa Caswell, our director from
01:31Little Women.
01:32So I have a lot of...
01:33I mean, I love it here.
01:35And we love you, too.
01:36Hey, congratulations on this film.
01:38I want to know about Ready or Not 2 specifically.
01:41Is this the messiest set that you've ever been on?
01:43Because it looked rather just messy the entire time.
01:46Look, I'm just used to this kind of thing.
01:48Oh, yeah?
01:48I don't even consider it messy.
01:50It's really glam.
01:52It's hair and makeup.
01:53Totally.
01:53It's a character choice.
01:55How was this film pitched to you?
01:57Because obviously we knew what to expect from the first one.
01:59When they come to you and say, okay, you'll be the sister, and more insanity ensues,
02:04were you straight on board straight away?
02:07Oh, listen.
02:08I was on my way to dance class in New York City, and one of the producers from Abigail,
02:13William Sherrick, calls me and goes, would you be in Ready or Not?
02:17And I'm like, anything.
02:19And then they told me what the role was, and I just thought it was...
02:24I thought it was going to be like a small thing, you know?
02:26And then they sent me the script, and it said cat for the first draft.
02:31And I think I probably like smile cried.
02:33You know when you're just so happy that you tear up, but I don't really know that I cried?
02:37It was that feeling.
02:37I was just ecstatic about it.
02:39And Samara Weaving is an exceptional person, amazing actress, and a really cool girl.
02:45It's just like a cool friend.
02:47We had worked together on three billboards a couple years ago, so I was familiar with her.
02:50But it was a really big deal to play her little sister.
02:53And all I wanted to do, like, as soon as I read it, I was like, I know what my
02:56job is.
02:58Be her little sister, compliment her, support her, and, you know, be a little silly and annoying sometimes.
03:03There's also just an extra element to this film that it stars Daphne and Frodo together, doesn't it?
03:10Like some noughties icons.
03:11How did you feel about meeting those guys?
03:13Was it for the first time?
03:15I played it really cool.
03:15Oh, yeah?
03:16I played it really cool.
03:17I didn't say too much.
03:18I just shook their hands and was like, thank you for coming.
03:21It's nice to meet you.
03:22But I screamed and fell on the floor when I found out Sarah Michelle Kelly was going to be in
03:26the movie.
03:28But she didn't see that happen.
03:30I kept it cool on set.
03:31You're a cool girl.
03:32Same with Elijah.
03:33I'm still trying to keep it cool around him.
03:35What was the most physically demanding set, day on set for you?
03:39Are there any battle scars from the set?
03:42Yeah, there's some bruises.
03:43You know, you take a little bit of blood home.
03:45Your sheets turn a little pink.
03:46Your hair turns a little pink.
03:48But no, there's no battle scars.
03:50I didn't get hurt.
03:51I do all my own stunts.
03:52I'm an athlete.
03:54I'm excited.
03:54Obviously, you've got a big old press tour together for this week now.
03:57How cool is that?
03:58Amazing that you are...
03:59Thank you, yeah.
03:59...having a Samira perform an Empire with Sarah.
04:01I know.
04:01But I guess coming up next, or maybe it's already in the can, like, you have been confirmed
04:05to be in Avengers Doomsday, haven't you?
04:06What's that?
04:07What?
04:07What?
04:08That's so weird.
04:09I don't know what you're talking about.
04:10But I think that this movie is the best movie of all time.
04:14I agree.
04:15I think it's a really good, yeah, really great movie.
04:19And I just wanted to say the response to this movie means so much because it's us.
04:27It's, like, our heart in this film.
04:29So, you know when you're little and, like, you're, like, performing for your friends'
04:32parents in, like, their living room?
04:33That's how it felt making this movie.
04:35And now people actually like it.
04:37Which is the best.
04:37It's really cool.
04:38It's fun.
04:39So, thanks so much.
04:40Thank you so much for your time.
04:41I appreciate it.
04:42Cheers, guys.
04:42Yeah.
