00:00And it reminds me why we love her.
00:03I want everyone to know that I see it, I feel it,
00:06and I'm incredibly appreciative of it.
00:09Oh, there's some of these.
00:11I love you.
00:12Hey.
00:12Hello.
00:13Thank you so much for your time.
00:14I appreciate it.
00:15Congratulations on starring in a very fun, very wacky,
00:17very violent film.
00:19How is it pitched to you, and how is your character pitched
00:21to you?
00:22What did they tell you to get you on board?
00:23Well, actually, it was funny.
00:24I got a phone call, and they said, you know,
00:25did you see ready or not?
00:27And I was like, oh, of course, like, six years ago.
00:29And I thought they were going to pitch me, OK,
00:30so it's like ready or not, but the world is.
00:32And they're like, well, it's ready or not, too.
00:34And I was like, what?
00:35That was six years ago.
00:36And they're like, they're making a sequel.
00:38And so you don't think you're going to get that call.
00:40Nowadays in Hollywood, it's like, if a movie's successful,
00:42they rush out the next one, the third, the fourth.
00:44So I didn't think that this would ever exist,
00:46let alone that I would have the chance to be lucky enough
00:48to play in the sandbox, so.
00:50I watched an interview with yours the other day,
00:52and I've had a question in my mind that I can't get out of my head.
00:54How do you get blood and cake out of your head?
00:58I mean, it's hard.
01:00It is really hard.
01:01Cake is really sticky.
01:03Like, it is.
01:04There is no joke that days later, you're still finding places.
01:07I mean, I think I said it.
01:08My favorite Samara story was that, in the first movie,
01:11she lost her deposit in her apartment
01:12because she had stained everything.
01:14I mean, it really doesn't come out.
01:18I love that, as well, you only noticed, like,
01:20once the trailer was out, they're like, oh, this,
01:22the move that you do in the trailer with that is a buffy move.
01:25You know, you're so focused when you're filming something,
01:27like, do I get it in the right place?
01:28I don't want to hurt Sam.
01:29It's 3 in the morning.
01:30It's 22 degrees.
01:32Like, that's where your mind is.
01:34So those reflexes, obviously, a lot is required of you
01:36in this role, like, you know, your action, your fighting.
01:38Is that kind of like second nature to you still?
01:40Is it like a muscle memory to you when you go
01:42and do all this kind of stuff?
01:43I mean, look, being athletic is part of who I am,
01:47and I like to work out, I like to train,
01:49I like to do all these things.
01:50So I hope I never lose the ability.
01:52I've loved seeing the cast interactions
01:54throughout all of this press tour, as well.
01:56We really don't like each other.
01:57It's so obvious, right?
01:58Oh, my God, you're such a good actor, then.
01:59It's incredible.
01:59We're such great actors, aren't we?
02:00We actually can't stand each other, and we're just acting.
02:03Oh, my God, it shows, guys.
02:04We're just acting.
02:05We're just acting.
02:06No, no fun.
02:06We're just acting.
02:07We don't love each other at all.
02:08I love you so much.
02:09I love you, too.
02:10I love you.
02:11That's actually so nice, guys.
02:14I also, welling up there, but I reckon you've got a lot
02:17of the fans in the feels with your Instagram post
02:20over the weekend, which is very curt and very earnest,
02:23and I think fans appreciated that honesty from you, as well.
02:26What has the reaction been like from Buffy fans
02:28over the last few days?
02:29It's been so overwhelming.
02:31I could never have expected what's been happening,
02:35and it reminds me why we love her and what she holds
02:40and why she's important, and, you know, I wish I could respond
02:43to every single person, and I know I'm repetitive,
02:46but I want everyone to know that I see it, I feel it,
02:49and I'm incredibly appreciative of it, and it's why I started
02:52on the journey in the first place, without being morbid.
02:57And, you know, I say, you know, you want to do something fun?
03:00Come see the movie.
03:01Like, this is for you, too, and it's a love letter also,
03:04and there's love letters, you know, within it,
03:07and we'll get through this, because that's what we do.
03:08We hold our head high, and, you know, you never know
03:11what's going to happen tomorrow.
03:11That's wonderful, and last one for me, obviously,
03:15yourself and your characters, and Buffy especially,
03:17has, like, inspired a generation of people.
03:19What has been, like, one of the most emotional moments
03:22for you when you hear that fan interaction?
03:24Does any stick with you of, like, when people have
03:26broken through to you as well?
03:27They all stick with me, because as an actor,
03:29you hope that you have maybe one role in your lifetime
03:33that means something to people, that resonates,
03:35that holds up, and the fact that I don't know when someone
03:38comes up to me which job they're going to say, like,
03:42I feel, it makes me feel like I win the lottery.
03:44Except when I'm asleep on an airplane.
03:46Please don't wake me up next time.
03:48That felt very personal to someone.
03:50It might have been.
