00:00This woman ran for office.
00:01I know she did.
00:01I read it.
00:02Did you win?
00:02I got the result that I wanted.
00:04I wouldn't have wanted to win because I wouldn't know what to do in that position.
00:08Can you explain to the audience what you ran for?
00:11So I was running against a Greens candidate, Kathleen Maltzen, and her platform was about
00:16shutting down all the brothels in Melbourne.
00:18She claimed to be a feminist that cared about the women, but any person involved in the
00:22work will tell you that once you close it down, you send it underground, you make it
00:25more dangerous.
00:25So it's actually worse for the sex workers when you do something like that.
00:30So my whole platform was just to draw attention to the fact that Kathleen Maltzen was running
00:35on this campaign and she was running for the Greens, which is usually very progressive,
00:38usually very like sex positive, sex worker friendly, but not in this case.
00:42So I just wanted to draw votes away from her so she didn't win because she had a strong
00:46chance of winning and she didn't win.
00:48So I achieved what I wanted to achieve.
00:50If I had won, that would have been incredible.
00:54I would have won.
00:55You could figure it out.
00:56Actually listening to the constituents, all they wanted was for me to address the traffic
01:00on Hoddle Street.
01:01Like I have nightmares about the traffic on Hoddle Street.
01:03Every town meeting was, what are you going to do about the traffic on Hoddle Street?
01:05What's going on Hoddle Street?
01:06Oh, it's busy.
01:07So much traffic.
