00:00Was your kid an accident?
00:02Was my kid an a**hole?
00:03In the...
00:05That should have been a question.
00:06Yeah.
00:07Who was your kid?
00:12Was your kid an accident or plan?
00:14Ooh.
00:16Surprise.
00:17Ooh, she was an accident.
00:18So what happened was...
00:21I didn't know I was pregnant until six months in.
00:25I honestly thought I was very bloated.
00:28I was like, oh, ooh.
00:30So I went to the doctors.
00:31They were like, oh, congratulations, you're pregnant.
00:34I was like, yeah, fucking right.
00:36Huh?
00:37Wait a minute, what?
00:38I was supposed to have my period and I did not.
00:41Was your kid an accident?
00:42I found out when I was three months pregnant
00:44and I actually had two periods.
00:46Were you just spotting at that time?
00:48I know, full on five days.
00:50Wow.
00:51Yeah.
00:51By the time I found out, I was already four and a half months.
00:54So it was kind of like, shit, we're in it.
00:56And you find out when you start getting real big
00:59and it like, what's going on.
01:00Were your kids an accident?
01:02My eldest was, I say surprise.
01:05It was a surprise.
01:07It was a tequila baby, so.
01:09What do you mean by tequila baby?
01:11Um, laughing over there.
01:14I always used to joke and say tequila gets you pregnant.
01:17And I was, and then, you know, went to Mexico.
01:21I had kind of been drinking.
01:22There was some wine involved.
01:23We went to see a band.
01:25Like, you know, I'm turning back.
01:26You know what I'm saying?
01:27I didn't think like, oh.
01:29Kid was gonna come.
01:30Were your kids an accident?
01:31Oh my God, no.
01:32No, no, no, no, no.
01:33We really practiced.
01:35He was planned.
01:36Planned.
01:37There was a whole lot of planning.
01:38Mine were very much planned
01:39because we adopted all of our kids.
01:41It only took like two months.
01:43We tried for nine months.
01:45Every single month, I probably peed on like five pregnancy tests.
01:49I wanted this baby.
01:51Did you have your kid on purpose?
01:53I was devastated that I was pregnant.
01:55I was terrified.
01:56It was scary.
01:57I was pretty overwhelmed.
01:58Shit.
01:59I just didn't want one with who I was with at the time.
02:02Holy shit, I don't even know this guy.
02:04When I had her, I wasn't exactly at the best place mentally.
02:07I had just started my career.
02:09There was not a plan of having a third one.
02:13I was very depressed for probably all of my pregnancy.
02:18Like, what the hell's going on?
02:19Like, man, I'm never gonna have any freedom and stuff.
02:22You know, I'll never be free.
02:23I'm always gonna have kids.
02:24Did you plan on having your kids?
02:25My youngest is actually a failed abortion.
02:28I had a full blown surgical DNC with her.
02:31And so apparently they just nicked part of the yolk sac
02:34and completely missed her.
02:36And so she came out with all her fingers and toes
02:39and every body part.
02:40So that's good.
02:41Were you just like, should I go get another one?
02:44Me and the father were both like, this is meant to be.
02:47Tried to have a medical abortion
02:48because we were like, we got shit to do.
02:50It didn't fucking work.
02:51She's a fucking fighter is all I can say
02:53because I'm not going down.
02:56Were any of your kids accidents?
02:58Yeah.
02:59Yes.
03:00If it happens, it happens.
03:01And I'm not going to be mad if it happens.
03:03They were not planned, but not prevented.
03:07We didn't use any sort of protection.
03:09It was hard to stay six feet away from each other
03:11in a two room apartment.
03:13I probably won't even get pregnant.
03:14We were just going to kind of roll with it.
03:16So they were all happy accidents, but kind of planned.
03:20I don't know if that makes sense.
03:21Were your kids planned or an accident?
03:23My first one's like a prom night baby, so.
03:26Really?
03:27I got pregnant on spring break.
03:28That's so.
03:30I thought my parents are going to kill me.
03:33Woo.
03:34I was very young.
03:35I was 16 and homeless and a drug addict.
03:38I changed everything for her.
03:40When I first became a mom, I was a teen parent.
03:42It was the first time I had sex, so I was like, surprise.
03:45I'm really sick three weeks later.
03:47I don't know what's going on.
03:48My mom told me to go to the doctor.
03:50You're not eating.
03:51You're sick all the time.
03:52We set up like this whole plan on what kind of tests we were going to do and stuff.
03:55And then she came back like 30 minutes later and she was like, yeah, actually, you're pregnant.
04:01Oh.
04:02Yeah.
04:03I actually fainted.
04:04Oh, you really?
04:05Like for real?
04:06I really did.
04:07Yeah.
04:08Yeah.
04:09Because my dad was out in the waiting room.
04:10How did you tell them?
04:11I didn't.
04:12They got a letter in the mail from the insurance company.
04:15She wasn't planned by, yeah, she was planned by God.
04:17I had recently decided that I wanted to wait to have kids.
04:21And then my dad got diagnosed with a terminal illness two months after I found out I was
04:25pregnant.
04:26I found a journal entry I wrote during that time and I literally had written in there
04:31that I had no capacity for the pregnancy or for the baby because my dad being sick was
04:36taking everything from me.
04:38There was like a small window where it felt happy and then it was really hard.
04:42Is your kid an accident?
04:43No.
04:44He was planned.
04:45He was a woman.
04:46So she was very, very, very planned.
04:47I always imagined that I would grow up and have kids.
04:51All right.
04:52Done with the birth control.
04:53We knew that we had stable jobs and family to support us.
04:56We loved each other.
04:57We were ready for that next step.
04:58We planned her.
04:59I got pregnant and I was like one of the happiest times of my life.
05:02Did you plan to have your kids or were they accidents?
05:04My daughter was an accident.
05:05I found out I had a severe case of polycystic ovary syndrome and I was likely not going to
05:11be able to have kids.
05:12And then I was like, well, who cares about contraception?
05:14This is not going to happen.
05:15And then I had my daughter.
05:17And so after my daughter, I got an implant and intentionally took it out when I was ready
05:21to have my son.
05:22Both my husband and I were told that it would be extremely difficult for us to conceive.
05:26We were only married for two months before we conceived my first son.
05:30And then his other brother came really quickly after.
05:33So now we don't believe that anymore.
05:35Was your kid an accident?
05:37Literally, we got pregnant right after our wedding.
05:39On our honeymoon.
05:40A week after we got engaged.
05:41And we thought it would take longer than it did.
05:43We were like, oh, you know what?
05:45Let 2022 be the year that we try for a baby.
05:48New year baby.
05:51So you found out you were pregnant.
05:52My test popped up within 30 seconds and it was the Dollar Tree test.
05:55So when they tell you that the Dollar Tree test is the truth, they really are.
05:59They really work.
06:01And I looked down and I screamed.
06:03I immediately grabbed my best friend, took her into my office.
06:06And we looked down and I was like, oh, fuck.
06:09And just staring at it.
06:11I had tunnel vision.
06:12And I ran out of the clinic as fast as I could.
06:14And I threw the pregnancy test at my partner's head.
06:16Life changing.
06:18Were your kids planned or an accident?
06:20My oldest was planned and my second was a surprise.
06:23It's a happy accident.
06:24But they're still loved.
06:25And the shit they say is wild.
06:27Actually on my way here today, my son goes, mom, am I a reminder of you and dad having sex?
06:33And I'm like, where is this coming from?
06:36Yes.
06:37Did you plan on having your kid or was he an accident?
06:41My family thinks he was an accident, but he was planned.
06:44What do you mean?
06:45I was really, really nervous to tell my family.
06:48And so I was just like, I don't know how this happened.
06:51The birth control didn't work.
06:52No.
06:53Who's the first person you told outside of your partner?
06:55My dad was just, you know, this is what happens when you have unprotected sex.
07:00My grandma had recently passed and like a month before she passed, I walked in the room and she was like, you pregnant.
07:07And I was like, no, I'm not.
07:09Was your little poopy an accident?
07:11Yes.
07:12Oh, yeah.
07:13What was it like when you first found out you were pregnant?
07:15Oh, I know immediately.
07:16The next morning, I just felt physically different.
07:19I was at my sister's house.
07:21We had hot dogs, a red Gatorade, and I threw up all over her bathroom.
07:26Oh.
07:27Was your kid a happy surprise?
07:28Oh, yeah, of course.
07:29Because when I had my kids, I was 37 already.
07:33Me and her dad were already together.
07:35Looking back at the videos of like when we were like finding out, he didn't seem too excited.
07:39He seemed so scared.
07:40I'm like, babe, why do you look so scared?
07:43He's like, I was, but I didn't want to like say that.
07:46I wanted to keep the baby and I didn't know if that would be a deal breaker for him.
07:50I was more nervous because I was going to have to tell my husband, but I've had like that motherly instinct my whole life.
07:55What I can remember is that I was joyful, I was stressless.
07:59Amazing.
08:00Excited.
08:01More than anything, more than like the job that I have, more than any goal I could ever have, I wanted to be a mom.
08:06I had no problem, you know, with deciding whether or not to keep her.
08:09But I made it through and she's good.
08:11It wasn't my accident.
08:13My wife had him with someone else before she was ready to do that.
08:18Their accident is my blessing.
08:20That sounds so corny, but it's true.
08:23I wouldn't be a parent without that happening.
08:25So we do, we don't regret any of it.
08:27But yeah, it definitely wasn't on purpose.
08:30No.
08:31Keep it 100.
08:32Keep it 100.
