00:00Cole Davies. Well at one point it looked like Davies was just back to maybe scoring up points
00:03to ensure that he is top 20 and automatically seeded into the gates for the playoff races and
00:09instead now he's gunning for a race overhaul win. Deegan is going to go all the way inside.
00:17Yeah well the one way to ensure is just to win Winemoto and he did that. Yep yeah Davies definitely
00:23in the playoffs now. Deegan he's got to get the jump here. If he does he control turn one. If he
00:28doesn't he's going to get shut off from the inside. Fly Racing 30 second card is up. Final
00:35moto of the regular season. It'll be 28 races through multiple classes and so many ups and
00:41downs and so much drama but in the end Jett Lawrence Hayden Deegan champions again. But
00:48still a lot to play for including Deegan who needs the moto win to get one more overall. Let's
00:54do it one last time. And he gets the jump. Deegan battling with Thrasher his teammate.
01:05I think Nate Thrasher has the whole shot. Deegan second. Yeah man what a start. Deegan he must have
01:11had that figured out. That inside that's what we talked about earlier. A little bit harder on
01:14that inside. You just saw saw him as Nate loses the rear end. Close call right there. But Hayden
01:20Deegan in front of Joe Shimoda. Joe slides up in that third spot. Yeah good moves by Joe. Got
01:26to Dax Pettik right there as well. And Joe going after Deegan. And Vial did not go to the gate. And
01:34KTM just saying he's dealing with an issue. We saw something with Vial who went from leading to
01:3911 in moto one. But we have no further clarification on what the problem for Vial is. Look at Shimoda.
01:46Yeah I said earlier in the first moto. Joe's made this one of his strengths being really
01:51okay with being uncomfortable in these first opening laps. And that used to be a struggle
01:56for him. So you know he wants to get around Hayden. I think he feels like his best opportunity
02:00to at least be in front of him. Because Hayden has a little bit more pace than Joe does. But
02:05I love what I see from the 30. You know it's a sense of urgency. Hayden goes up his teammate
02:09inside his teammate. Let's see if Nate. Nate does a good job of beating him to the corner.
02:16Nate ain't letting it happen. Yeah Nate Thrasher right around out of Tennessee. Had a very up and
02:21down campaign in motocross this year. Leading Levi Kitchen. Yeah I don't know if Joe made a mistake
02:27went outside. But Levi slid up. And Levi had some pace as Joe Shimoda goes back on the inside of him.
02:32Levi had some pace at first. Levi two and three quartered that triple. That's going to prove
02:39costly. Here's Hamaker. Yeah that's as a rider. You get caught almost looking at that Joe Shimoda
02:44and realizing Joe's going for the triple. You don't have that speed. And that's what Levi did. So
02:48ends up losing his position to his teammate. Looks like. Just with Kitchen had it going. That's going to
02:56cost him two spots. Shimoda's back. While Deegan tries to solve Thrasher. Shimoda's going to try to set
03:02him up. Yeah that might have been. We'll see how this race plays out. But it might be a critical pass
03:06or not pass that Hayden wasn't able to get around his teammate. And Joe was able to get back around
03:11Levi. Especially how tough it's been since these guys are struggling to seem to get around these
03:15riders. But I think Joe is going to try to go back after Hayden again. Try to attack him before he
03:20gets comfortable out here. Now Davies the first moto winner. 18th place. So as far as the overall
03:29is concerned. It might have just slipped away from the rookie. But I don't even know if that
03:33was his goal today. And certainly not when the day began. Now watch the replay at the start.
03:37Huge crash. Several riders down. And one of them is Monks Turner. Who like we had said
03:43was trying to battle his way into the top 20. There he is. Bummed. Because oh he's down with
03:49Forkner. Yeah bummer out there for Lux. Lee's sister got that championship. But you know
03:55thinking about this battle. Deegan. Yeah because of that penalty. Whoever beats each other in
04:01this moto between Joe and Hayden wins it overall. Because that three point gap. Now it's only two
04:07between each other. It's going to be good stuff right here. Well good stuff from Deegan making that
04:13move on Thrasher. And you're going to see him put the pedal to the metal. See if he can break away
04:17while Shimoda deals with Thrasher for second. Deegan wants that overall. Even though technically
04:22he did not win the first moto. Yeah well he'll still he'll still get it. And you know he's looking
04:28at that 14. Number 14 overall. Would tie him career wise with Jet Lawrence for victories at
04:35250 pro motocross. You know he's thinking about that. So it's 1-2 for the Yamahas right now.
04:42Get an inside look at Yamaha's factory supported teams after every race. Go to the
04:46at Yamaha Motor USA YouTube channel each week. And check out Beyond the Gate their show.
04:51It's a cover to the team both at the racetrack and then back at the shopping track.
04:55They're in Georgia. Oh Shimoda. Almost got Thrasher.
05:00Yeah. Joe's going to have to make this pass as he goes up there.
05:05Outside. Let's see if he can get through this corner. Nate's going to have the inside. But now Joe's got a good run.
05:10Little drag race going up. And now Joe should slow down a little bit. Make sure Nate doesn't cut up
05:15the inside of him. Good move by the number 30. He knows he needs to go because number one's getting
05:20away. And that's part of overall victory. A little bit of damage done. Almost a two second lead
05:25for Deegan. No. Actually more. Two and a half. You know thinking about the looking at the shadows
05:31because there's a lot more shadows on the on the racetrack. And the reason that is because
05:35we're about an hour later than normal. This guy's going to have to watch. Especially coming up some
05:40of these hills and right before Henry Hill. The shadows in those ruts. Yeah. Had that restart
05:45in Moto1. Oh. Julian Beaumere is down and looks down hard. Is that the mechanics area? Yeah.
05:52That looks like either he got hit with another rider or he maybe lost the rear. And it looks
05:57like a high side the way he's at. So that's a fast part of the racetrack. Oh man. Rough go of it for
06:04the KTM team. Again, BL not lining up for this moto. We're not sure what the issue is. And
06:09then Beaumere going down. As for Deegan, this is a critical juncture. It's going to be some
06:15sprint laps between he and Shimoda who's going to break. He can try to get away. Yeah. Hayden's
06:21trying to get that gap. Don't want to give Joe any kind of confidence. And same thing happened
06:26at first moto. Joe was there. He knows Joe's going to be there the whole race. So you might
06:31try to get that gap. I'm going to have a fight with you.
06:37Thrasher still holding on to third over Havoc or Kitchin, March Banks. Davies, the back
06:41start is 15th. After winning Moto1, there's a penalty for Deegan and Shimoda who appear to go
06:481-2. We're hitching a ride for the champ.
07:04Is it too early? Start talking about Deegan as a 450 racer. The yellow flags are out, by the way,
07:09because that's where Beaumere went down. He will be on a 250 for playoffs. He'll be on a 250 for
07:14motocross the nations and presumably Supercross next year. But by this time, a year from now,
07:19he'll be on the 450. And I know there's a lot of people that say, listen to how hard he
07:23revs the bike. That doesn't lend itself to riding a 450. Well, red flag. Wait a minute.
07:30Red flag. We'll get back to the Deegan conversation in a moment. So that
07:34is for Beaumere, who is down. Must be in a precarious section of the track.
07:42All right. Yeah, but it's a mechanics area where it down. And are we deep enough in the
07:47moto to see perhaps the staggered restart? Deegan's like, no, here we go again. Yes,
07:55this happened in two years ago. Yeah, but yeah, Juju, yeah, he's right in front of mechanics
08:01there. And because that way that corner is, it pushes all those guys out into that line where
08:06he was laying at earlier. So that's probably why they needed a red flag.
08:11Well, they're going to make the safety call regardless of what it means for the length of
08:14the day. You mentioned the position of the sun with WMX added today and the previous red flag.
08:20That's added a lot of time to the program. So it's a little later than usual out here.
08:25But if it's necessary for safety, they're going to pull another one. And the red flags
08:30indeed were pulled out and they will tend to Bomer.
08:38So Hayden's got to take the long ride all the way back.
08:43Yeah, good Stephanie Nutt over there. And then of course the doctors as well
08:47from the Alpine Stars medic. It appears that he is sitting up. There's Jake, the
08:50series chaplain also.
08:52Hoping this is a precautionary here. I can show you what happened. It was actually Parker
09:01Ross that went down on the 302.
09:04Yeah, Parker's going to get up and get started. You're going to watch Juju come in
09:09in the screen and clip the back of him.
09:12It's ground really hard. Oh, man. Been laying on that ground enough times. But yeah, just a racing
09:20incident. I think Julian realized that the speed difference between those two and he tried to
09:24stop him, but it was too late at that point. And you hate to see it. The young rider out of Lake Havasu.
09:31So that has led the other rider to go back to the starting line for the restart.
09:35We'll get you the official word and if it will be a staggered restart or a full restart. It was
09:40right around the line about seven minutes into the moto. I think they have to do three laps or
09:45something like that. Okay, Julian is up.
09:51Good to see that from Juju and the fans salute it. Rough day at the office for him.
10:01Yeah, it's good. Brains guys like Levi kitchen back in. So a little bit closer.
10:08March bangs. That's right. Yep. Handmaker kitchen March bank thrasher will all be there. Here it is.
10:16He made it. Hey, I like that little hand swag out there. It's basically keeping him from going.
10:34Good job, John. He made it. So there it is. Deacon and Shimoda. One, two thrasher is third.
10:39Can Deacon reestablish the gap? Yeah. Do you think Hayden knew what Joe's plan was? He came out that
10:46gate firing and made sure he got through that first section because now he's got a little bit of gap.
10:51And I think for him, we need to keep Joe from trying to make that pass because he knows the only way he's
10:56going to beat him is he's in front of him. Might have to be a little aggressive. I think kitchen just
11:00got aggressive with thrasher back there for third. We'll see who emerges. It is kitchen. So he's the big
11:06beneficiary here. Yeah, I thought maybe bringing those bringing it in, you know, Joe and Hayden.
11:10We know Joe's playing, but I thought it brought back guys like Levi because that gap, almost 10 seconds
11:15they were back. Now they're right here. So see what Levi does with a better start. Everything's right
11:20in front of him. All right. So it's going to be a showdown now. Been waiting for him. Probably feels
11:26like years since kitchen has seen the leaders early in a race. What can he do with it? Yeah, let's let's find
11:31out. And if you think about season overall, I would say at most races, these are your three
11:36fastest riders. You know, Levi's had a lot of ups and downs. Mark's been up there, but
11:41he thought this was going to be the fight for the championship. These three right here.
11:49And because seven minutes already clicked off the clock, you can look at the upward left.
11:53It's 22 seconds and two laps or 22 minutes and two laps left in this moto. They're essentially picking
11:59up where they left off. And so is Deegan as he puts time into the field. Yeah, and I feel like with
12:05them starting that second moto, they almost got warmed up and that break was long enough so they
12:09all feel recovered. So it really comes down to about a 20 minute moto out here. So you're going to see
12:14these guys really landed out. They're fresh. They're ready to go.
12:21Past the mechanics area.
12:22And gaps almost where it was. Ken Shimoda hang in there. Weather this storm. Deegan's throwing down.
12:32Yeah, if I'm hating. I know Joe is just a tick off and I know if you can override this track really
12:38easy. We saw it. We heard Joe on the podium said felt like he was the same speed, but every time he
12:43tried to pick it up, he would make a mistake and you lose that time. So I want to put him in that spot.
12:47If I'm hating Deegan, just keep that gap. Make a mistake says we're going to watch March Banks
12:53try to get around his teammate. Seth leaned in on him. This is for fifth and sixth.
12:58Yes, but Villalobel going to be a bad day. This should clinch third
13:02in playoff seating already for March Banks. Trying to make the move on Hatmaker.
13:09Yeah, Gary's tough spots. All you can do is just kind of stay with him right
13:13right here. Still a good season for him. He finished this off, JT.
13:17Yeah, and for March Banks here, he's got to be loving this staggered restart. This is the closest
13:22he's been in the lead at the 20-minute mark, maybe ever. So for March Banks, this isn't a bad setup at
13:27all. Let's see what he can do with it. Yeah, the problem is he might not know what to do with it.
13:31Like he's like, I'm not used to being here. But again, I think that that little pre-create,
13:37so eight laps. Oh, Jordan Smith out. Yeah, bummer to see Jordan and the Triumph team. They've had a
13:43resurgence this year, good year, gotten better. But yeah, with Garrett, I think he's already warmed
13:47up. So maybe it'd be a little bit different than some of these other motos where it takes him a while
13:51to get going. He's already had about 10 minutes of racing in this. Now, as for March Banks, I said that
13:58he's already clinched now third in playoff seating with Vial out. What it also means is he will
14:03definitely be third in the pro motocross series, which is a heck of an accomplishment. And if you
14:09take all the points together, both classes, he will have been in the top 10 in points for the year.
14:15And what that means is he's going to earn a career number. So at the end of the season, March Banks will
14:21be able to pick a two-digit number and he can run that for the rest of his racing career. That is a heck
14:26of a season for the big man out of Utah, who really took a chance, took a one-year deal with
14:31Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki, his old team, who invited him back one year to show what he had.
14:37And boy, has he ever done it. Third of the championship and could be more in store once
14:45the playoffs begin. But first, he's got to figure out a way around Hampshire or a hammock or what a
14:50battle. Yeah, a game at Chicken here. I mean, these lines, they funnel in and it looked like on
14:56TV, Garrett could have went in hot, but they're leaning in that bike, those ruts, and they would
15:01have been taking a chance of taking him going down and his teammates. So he knew he was going to get
15:06that position. So good job by him sliding up in that fifth spot. Nate Thrasher's about two seconds in
15:11front of him and Levi's about three seconds ahead. So locked the race forward with Garrett.
15:16Maybe get on that podium here. Kitchen had a big mistake late in that first lap because all of a
15:21sudden, when they came around to the finish line area, he did not have Shimoda and Deegan in sight
15:26again. And how about Deegan? Got the lead right back where it was in about two laps on Shimoda. He is
15:32rolling out front. Yeah, no, he isn't. He just ran a 157.5 to Joe's 159. So he's really putting in,
15:41putting these laps in and now it's about almost four seconds. And there's Shimoda. Can he even see
15:48Deegan now? He's just close enough where you you can still see him. You can hear him. But again,
15:57it wouldn't matter. Joe's he's that rabbit that the dog that doesn't need a rabbit to chase. He's
16:02going to go that same phase. If he has it, he'll do it. He'll use it. So he ain't going anywhere.
16:07It's just, um, after last weekend, I'm sure it's a little tough for Joe to take and sneak away a
16:13little bit. Now, Joe has an offer on the table from Honda to return. He had a two-year contract.
16:18That was last year and this year. It's expected that he will return. It's just not signed yet.
16:25And there was some talk about, uh, well, what could the future be for Joe? Because obviously,
16:30they're pretty solid as a 450 unit there with the Lawrence brothers. Uh, but the Lawrence team
16:36managers said if it comes to it, they could produce a third 450 slot if that's where Joe
16:40needs to go in a couple of years. Focus is obviously going to be on the 250 class and try to win some
16:45titles over the next year or two for him. Yeah, I can see them opening up that door, especially
16:53if they're opening up. That means Joe's obviously been winning titles or showing a lot of speed.
16:57So that'd be a, that wouldn't be really a risk. It would be the right thing to do for
17:02the Honda. They're smart enough. Lars would, he knows what's going on. He knows how to win
17:06these championships. He's done it with a lot of different riders. They got a program that's
17:11somewhat unmatchable at this point in that 450 class. Well now, post-race, going to have the
17:18live show. The NMX insider post-race show will have a lot of awards beyond the championships,
17:23including the Manufacturer's Cup, really Yamaha and Honda. And this photo pretty much
17:28illustrates it, have been battling all year in the one and two spots.
17:33You'll get to find out who wins that. There's also Mechanic of the Year, Truck Driver of the Year,
17:36a lot of special awards and an atmosphere you don't often get to see live. So that'll be a cool
17:42edition of the show. So stick with us when it's over and you'll see both the Yamaha and Honda teams
17:48get their accolades for locking down the individual championships and more
17:52in the 450 and 250 classes. Joe's still trying and Deacon's still pulling. Yeah, you know,
17:59but I think Joe, maybe after that first moto, kind of understands that, look, the harder I rod,
18:04the slower I'm going to go on this racetrack. And you know, I'm a little bit slower than Hayden,
18:09and that's that gap that Hayden's starting to slowly pull out. But Joe really can't do anything
18:13because he'll lose more time if he tries to go, JT. He does it. And you know, I want to give Hayden
18:18some credit here. Of course, he is your 2025-250 pro motocross champion. That says in and of itself.
18:24But there was a lot of celebrating going on over near the podium after Moto One,
18:29his family over there, everyone excited. But he stayed engaged here. He stayed fully locked in.
18:34He got the start. He has executed through a red flag. And his first couple of laps were the most
18:39impressive to me. He did not allow Joe Shimoda to apply any pressure at all. And he sprinted right
18:45away. You just think about kind of where his head's at. He's got a lot to kind of celebrate
18:49on a day like today. But he hasn't shown even a flicker of not being fully locked in at the moment.
18:54Yeah. And just touching more on that, that's his personality. And I said, one of the things that
19:00impressed me about Hayden, it's not that he's, you know, fast and all the talent, but really his
19:06his attitude. And when you think about the background that he come from, you know, having a
19:11father, Brian Deegan, having his sister, it could be easy for Hayden to, you know, be kind of lazy and not
19:17have anything to fight fight for. But this guy rods as like a person that if he doesn't win,
19:22he's not going to eat. And when you think about this championship, um, I knew he was going to come
19:27out firing his moto because the kid wants to win and he's not letting anybody, um, have anything. So
19:33not surprising that he's out here doing what he's doing. Battle box down there,
19:36that's Drew Adams and Ryder DeFrancisco battling it out at the bottom. Adams have made the pass,
19:41then went off the track. DeFrancisco takes the measure of him, and it's Maximus Boland
19:47right in front of them. Shout out to Boland, seventh in this moto, and he is seventh in points. Not bad
19:52for the first, what you consider, non-factory team. Now, Club of X, Muckoff FXR, they get help from
19:59Yamaha as far as bikes, but they don't have all the trip parts that the star racing unit that Deacon
20:04races for it does. So for Boland, seventh in points, seventh in the moto, it's a really solid
20:10season for him. Yeah, well, really solid. He's a little over halfway. If he finishes off,
20:17it'd be a good season. And even more impressed about him having someone to relearn how to ride a
20:22motorcycle to be able to do it for Supercrossing to come out and do it again for outdoors.
20:29Just shows how much this kid wants to be out here.
20:33Yeah, and we've been telling this story all year. Has to have both brakes in the head of ours,
20:37front and rear, because this injury to his hip, some nerve damage to the foot, can't really feel a
20:42brake with his boot. So he's had to adjust, as you mentioned, and we asked him about that adjustment.
20:48I think a little bit harder on outdoors. We just go so much faster on outdoors when we have to stop
20:55a lot more and use our brakes a lot more. Supercross with the bold turns, you can kind of roll, and
20:59you honestly don't need your brakes as much. So I've definitely found that it's been a harder
21:04learning curve on outdoors. I feel like that's kind of where my results have come from. It's just been
21:09more of a learning curve. So it's been harder for me to be able to go as fast and stop as fast as I
21:16as I could before, but pretty much figured it out now and got pretty dialed. So it's just about
21:21putting in the laps and logging in the time.
21:25Yes, so it's tougher outdoors. Seventh at points, even more impressive.
21:28DeFrancisco is all over him. Now into the second half of this moto.
21:33To remind her that Monster Energy is available now.
21:37It's a fight here from DeFrancisco, who's had speed in qualifying, has not been able to turn it into
21:42good results in the motos, but this is an encouraging sign for him.
21:48As he battles Bolin right now, seventh and eighth.
21:51Yeah, I mean, I know Ryder D probably wants a little bit more and obviously he has the pace to do
21:56that, but think about coming into the season and he's improved this year. You know, so even though
22:02the results ain't what he wanted, I would say this this outdoor season has been an improvement.
22:07You know, now he's got his confidence, fast and qualified. You're starting to see him up front
22:11every weekend, at least in the qualifying and now maybe you can turn this into a good result.
22:16Well, what's so hard to detect with these riders, so he had big injuries in Supercross,
22:19internal injuries. And I also want to mention Kitchen. You see Hamaker just up ahead of that
22:25Bolin DeFrancisco group. Kitchen had a devastating crash at the Daytona Supercross, broke his neck
22:31actually. Now, if you ask these guys, they're going to say that it's not a factor, because the very
22:37first thing they want to do for themselves is not say it's in the back of their mind. But it's almost
22:42unfair. You see them on the same bike, same gear, same look. It appears they're 100 percent.
22:48They might not be deep down inside, even they're not going to say it. Yeah, and you know, when you
22:54think about certain crashes and certain injuries are different. When I go back to Levi, I feel like Levi
23:00as devastating as that crash. And anytime you break a neck, that's gnarly. Yeah. But the way he crashed,
23:06it's easier to deal with because you're like, I made that mistake. I know what happened compared to
23:10some of these other ones where you get landed on or something like that out of your control. Yeah,
23:14then I think it really becomes in the mind of these guys. And so someone might be dealing with,
23:19even though they have the same injury, some might be mentally different because of how it happened.
23:23I do feel like Levi, it's probably not in the back of his mind. I think this is, he really came in
23:29this championship feeling like he should be able to win. Wasn't even really thinking about the injury.
23:33And, um, you know, it's, it's been a tough year, but if he can finish this off in third place,
23:39at least it'd be somewhat of a good one. Yeah, just the difference with Boland. It's so obvious
23:43that the break situation, you know what he's dealing with. Yep. Uh, these riders, sometimes they
23:48don't even know because I've asked Ryder that and he's like, maybe it does, but you got to not tell
23:53yourself that. We finally found Cole Davies out here, the first moto winner. Yes, that's right.
23:58He is officially credited with the first moto win after the penalty for Shimoda and Deegan,
24:05but a terrible start for Davies here and he is in 20th place. So if you're looking at the career
24:10results so far pro motocross, you're talking three finishes of the 20s and a moto win. Yeah,
24:17yeah, not really sure. That's, uh, JT asked the question that 20th to first moto win. Yeah,
24:23well, I really haven't seen this back to 20th. So which one's the anomaly like the moto win or
24:28or right now? So looks like March banks have caught up to Nate Thrasher. This will be for fourth spot.
24:35Thrasher has a fourth at Iron Man in 2022. That is the only career top five moto in pro motocross.
24:42It's a rider that's won a lot in monster energy supercross.
24:45Woo. March banks is going for it. Yeah, Gary's trying to go, but just to kind of go back to
24:51your point, when you talk about the router, um, and mentally getting over these injuries,
24:55I do believe Nate Thrasher is that guy who's struggling. Maybe did some of these injuries
25:01back in his mind, because if we seen this guy, especially in super cross, come out and just
25:05dominate and you see him in outdoors to only have one fourth place. Um, and it's been years ago.
25:11Yes. I think that's because of all the injuries that then caused up, um,
25:15that he's had over his career the last couple of years. March banks trying to get him here.
25:20We've talked about it all season. No one has passed as many riders as March banks.
25:24Looking to get at least one more before the regular season is over.
25:29Yeah. You know, it attracts difficult to pass if Garrett only passed about 10,
25:3315 guys at the race. So his average is down. Yeah, his average is way down. It's really difficult to
25:40make passes out here. Thrasher doing a good job holding off. No changes up ahead. Kitchen,
25:45Shimoda. Deegan now a 10 second lead. Well, we were speculating about the different motivators for
25:52Deegan today, both to lock up the title and be safe, but also to make sure he had the momentum
25:59going into the playoffs. He has accomplished both with this big lead now.
26:02Yeah. Well, you know how important. And you heard Hayden on that first moto. It's like,
26:08when I want to win, I win basically. And he came out here. He knew what was on the line. He knows
26:16nice way to send them into the break. Hey, you've been riding good, but that's only because I've been
26:20doing X, you know, so, um, nonetheless, press abroad.
26:28It's impressive by Thrasher hanging in there. Relentless pressure.
26:36March banks doing everything he can. This track's tough to get around guys. Yeah.
26:43It's still not enough. JT. We've watched Garrett March banks in a similar situation throughout
26:52the year, trying to move forward. We've often talked about how many riders he has, but I just
26:56want to make a note of kind of his line choice. He makes a huge mistake there, but he's really going
27:01to the outside all the way around the racetrack. And earlier this season, races like Washougal,
27:06where he was really on form. That's the methodology he was using. He was doing basically everything he
27:12could to not touch the brakes, to not break his forward momentum. And oftentimes that means
27:17carrying it around the outside. So he's kind of back to doing what he does really well.
27:22Yeah. And the only problem is, is that the guy on the inside only has to beat you to a point X,
27:28and then Garrett has to slam on the brakes. So even though his lines might be faster, as long as
27:32Nate gets to the spot that Garrett wants to eventually get to first, um, Garrett's kind of stuck.
27:38Well, you won't be stuck as the playoffs lube. I got a deal for you. From now until the end of today,
27:48the motocross finale, you can purchase up to eight tickets for the SMX playoffs at $10 off.
27:54So scan that QR code that'll pop up on the screen right there. As you continue to watch this battle,
28:00or go to SuperMotocross.com and use the code SMX3TV. And $10 off tickets up to eight. And that's
28:08available for all three playoff routes. But it ends tonight. Don't regret it. I would not live with
28:15myself if I let an offer like that slip away. Same thing with March Banks. He is not going to let this
28:22one slip away, even in case that big uphill triple, can he get back after the 41?
28:27Uh, I mean, Nate's doing a good job at exactly what I was saying. You can see how much pace
28:32Garrett has and momentum he got. But Nate's just beating him to the spot. And a few of these corners,
28:37you see Garrett slamming on the brakes because he's catching him. What he's going to have to do is get
28:44get beside him. And some of these corners where Nate's on the inside, eventually, Garrett Abel to
28:48square it up and get back to the inside of him. But he's got to be really close, almost like a split lane
28:53section. So March Banks goes back to work. That might be the last good battle on the track.
28:59DeFrancisco has dispatched Voland. He is in seventh. Voland's eighth. Masterful ninth. Drew Adams
29:0610th. Schwartz 11th. That should be enough for Schwartz to clinch that top 20. Automatic to the gate.
29:13Berth. Schwartz was close. Last year was riding through injury to try to stay in it. Just missed the top 20.
29:21And then his wrist was really bothering him. He chose not to line up for the wildcard races.
29:25This time Schwartz is going to get in. He can just hang on for that 11th.
29:29Caden Dundee, who was so spectacular last week in his ProMoto cross debut with a seventh in a
29:35moto. A little bit rough for today. He's in 13th place. Yeah. March Banks top 10 finishes
29:43despite the bad starts. He's only been out of the top 10 in one moto this year. It's unbelievable. I mean,
29:53it is. But when you start looking at how many people he's passed, yeah, eventually it's got to go. But,
29:59you know, you can't pass 20 guys and not be in the top 10 pretty much. You got to be there. But, you know,
30:04I was just looking at this battle and at one point. Oh, finally. Yeah. Well, that's how the line
30:10played out. I don't think Nate realized that he was that close to be able to get it. But I was
30:14just about to say Garrett was starting to sit up. And if Nate was being able to put in a good section,
30:19I think Garrett would have just been all right with that fifth place because Nate
30:23was getting to him. But he wasn't. And now Garrett kept working on it and he got him back. Well,
30:29that's what I've learned from you. You talk about these battles and the battles all the time that
30:33two or three laps. If you get to the guy and you think you're going to get him and then you don't,
30:37the tide starts to turn. Oh, it turns all that confidence that you have catching that guy
30:43and you're not being able to pass him. It's a lot. You're getting you're roosted.
30:48All the stuff hurts. And then you just start getting mad. Then you start making mistakes.
30:52And it really just comes down to a few lines here and there. How about that line?
30:57Yeah. And that lap rider almost went down in front of Deegan. Back to the leader.
31:04This will be the end of his 250 motocross career. Not his 250 career. Motocross the
31:08nations and of course those playoffs upcoming. But the numbers aren't going to say he's the best
31:15ever at this. I know some other guys who are very good in this class, but he has certainly lived up to
31:20any amount of hype that you could have piled upon this kid when he turned pro with what he did in
31:25this class over three seasons. Yeah. I mean, Hayden's phenomenal. And
31:30man, I mean, even this this second moto, he's coming out with attacking and he's been this way
31:36since all day long. And you think about the championship, a lot of routers would back it
31:40off, you know, become more conservative. Well, I love what I'm from Hayden. He sees the big picture.
31:46He's always looking towards the future and always knows that, you know, I don't want to give anybody
31:53any confidence because, you know, everything's something, nothing's everything. And I think
31:57that's the way he kind of goes about it. He doesn't want Joe taking any kind of confidence moving into
32:01this motocross. And he's leaving notice that he was definitely the best and has been the best.
32:08And only time these guys can win is when he's focused on something else. When he decides to,
32:14he's going to win. That's what he said. And some of the stats, some tell the story more than others.
32:21He has been top five in every race in this class the last two seasons, all of last year,
32:27all of this year. So obviously the speed and the style is going to get a lot of the credit,
32:32but it's been the consistency more than anything, JT, that has powered this run.
32:37It really has. And you know, when you talk to Hayden, it seems like he's kind of racing against
32:42ghosts. You know, he doesn't seem like he's super concerned with the likes of Shimoda or Kitchen,
32:47whoever happens to be on form. He's racing against the riders of years that have gone by. You'll hear
32:53him talk about he wants to beat Jets records or James's records or any of those guys. That's what seems
32:59to motivate this kid. And I think it's all about legacy right now for Hayden Deegan. And I think
33:03you'll see that play out in the playoffs as well. Yeah, I agree. And it's that hunger that
33:10he has that's really going to, you know, dictate whether he's able to compete against
33:16Jett Lawrence. Because again, at the end of the day, Hayden's great. You know, and I said this
33:21earlier, what makes him down to different is his mindset and some of the things that other guys,
33:27it might take him time, you know, a few years to get used to a 450. We talked about earlier about
33:32revving the motorcycle, how he rides it. I believe his attitude is the way he goes is going to be his
33:39best opportunity, his best. That's going to allow him to compete instantly against Jett Lawrence.
33:46We'll find out if he has the skills to be able to do it and all that. But his attitude will give him
33:51the best chance to go out. And when he lines up on a 450, if everything else is right, he'll make
33:56his, he'll will his way because the way he thinks that he should be able to compete and win against
34:01that guy at 18 up there. And he's got quite the program built around him. The Lawrences,
34:06certainly with the brothers, you can see what they have done with their team and the type of program
34:10they've built, as Hunter said, the people around them. And certainly the same thing with Hayden.
34:14He talked about that supporting cast yesterday. I mean, you got your family. We keep it super tight.
34:20I feel like the greats in this sport have always had their family there. I mean, people do it,
34:24obviously without, but the family aspect is huge to me. I've had my dad there, my mom there,
34:29and yeah, my team, the Holstar AC Yamaha team. Even though we're a massive team and eyes kind of
34:35get wandered, we always figure it out. So got a good team behind me, a good bike. My trainer,
34:41Swanee, you know, he's always been there. We need it. So yeah, it takes, it takes a whole team to win
34:46these championships. And also got to get credit to myself because I kind of go out of the way and do
34:52stuff. A lot of these guys don't. So I feel like that's why I've been the most dominant 250 rider.
34:58Well said right there. I mean, it does take a team to compete at this level. You got the Honda,
35:05Star Race and Yamaha, but I also think it takes a special individual to continue winning it. And
35:10that attitude, you got to have the right attitude. You got to have the hunger. You look at the 450 class,
35:16Jet Lawrence has that hunger. Hey, Deegan has that hunger. And these are the guys that continually
35:22always is winning. There's the all-time list in this class. You're on the top of it, James. But
35:28with this win, Deegan will end up tied with Jet Lawrence career-wise for 250 motocross overall wins.
35:33JT. Well, it's going to be a couple turns from now, but I just like the way kind of Hayden's putting
35:38the track together. Looks like he's having some fun, as James talks about. He's jumping over the hill
35:44at the top after the finish line. And there's a double down. You saw Hunter try earlier in that
35:48450 moto, but it's right after the big uphill triple. He's doubling down to the inside. And listen,
35:54he's got an overall win. He's got a championship. He's still finding new ways to go fast on this
35:59racetrack. So I'll jump off here and let you guys talk through it, but it's right at the top of this hill.
36:03Yeah, what JT's talking about, this is triple step up. See if Hayden does. He goes a little bit wide,
36:08stops a little bit. Now he doubles, and he has to get that angle right.
36:12So he's making one arch, because if you come in at a different angle, then you'll land.
36:17The front end's going to push. You're going to make two turns. So Hayden's being patient,
36:20slowing down, hitting that angle right. And the momentum he's carrying through that whole section.
36:26That's why he's got an almost 12-second lead. Now back to the 450 next summer.
36:32Again, the riding style. People will tell you it's more of a 250 style. Is that a problem? Is
36:38that something needs to change? Can he play to his own strengths? How do you think that will work
36:42on the 450? Yeah, it's not going to be a problem. No. Yeah. I mean,
36:45again, the way if you're talking about revving the motorcycle and all that, no, that's not going to be
36:50a problem. If Hayden isn't winning, it's because he's just not talented enough. I mean, we know how good
36:55that 450 class is. But his mind's going to make up the difference from a lot of this. And what I was
37:02saying earlier, because the way he thinks, maybe some guys need a couple years to kind of adjust. And
37:07there's going to be a lot of rookie mistakes. He'll hit the ground and all that. But he's going to go in
37:12there thinking that he should be and can win instantly. And, you know, all the guys make
37:18mistake unless you jet launch, you just go perfect the first time you go out. But I think he's going
37:23to be there. And if he has all the tools, which that star racing Yamaha has proven to be a bike
37:28that's capable of running and winning championship, just ask Cooper Webb. Hayden's got every tool in
37:34the box that he needs to go win. And he has the right attitude to go do it instantly. Going to be
37:39very interesting next summer. Him lining up on a 450 Yamaha announcing that deal a couple of weeks ago.
37:45250 Supercross. We presume it'll probably be on the west so he can defend the number one plate
37:51one last time. But you're looking at the final lap ever for him on a 250 in motocross.
37:56One of the best to do it. Two consecutive titles, 14 wins. But again, we mentioned that consistency.
38:03Only seven motos ever outside the top 10 in his 250 motocross career over three years. And that's
38:10a couple of bike problems, first turn crashes. Even when he got hurt at Redbub this year, he still
38:17ended up in the top five overall. Yeah, it's really impressive. And over the last three years,
38:23I mean, Hayden has, he's number one in all categories. Hold shot, moto wins, all, all that.
38:28So not only you're just watching him cap off how great and dominant, more consistent, but
38:35this has been for the last three years. And that's why I go back to that attitude. Once you become a
38:39winner, you don't want to ever let that go. And I don't see anything that's going to stop him
38:44besides him. Just not Jed Lawrence or those guys. He's got to be great to watch.
38:50First Vietnam in a while. Amateur nationals at the Redlands who won a title on 65s, 85s,
38:55mini seniors, super mini, into the B-class, right into the pros, winning quickly, winning titles,
39:01keeps it going. Hayden Deegan dominates the day at Bud's Creek, the capper to a championship season.
39:08In the back of my mind, I was thinking that's a perfect jump for a knack-knack and Hayden Deegan
39:14just goes out there. That's crazy. You're actually thinking that I was just thinking before. I was
39:19just thinking that's a perfect jump for a little knack-knack. I've never seen him do a knack-knack. No,
39:24I don't see that too much anymore in general.
