00:00Good afternoon. Well, if you're a fan of the sunshine, there's plenty more on offer through today
00:05and more so through Bank Holiday Monday before turning more unsettled Tuesday onwards.
00:11So taking a look at the bigger picture then, we've got this area of high pressure just sinking its way south and eastwards,
00:16but that influences our weather through Sunday and Monday.
00:19As we go into Tuesday, we've got this area of low pressure ex-Hurricane Erin.
00:24That's going to influence our weather, bringing showers or longer spells of rain, and also bringing in some very large waves, especially across western coasts.
00:35But back to the rest of Sunday afternoon, there is variable amounts of cloud, but hopefully I'll start lifting, breaking.
00:42We should see some bright or sunny spells developing.
00:44The best of the sunshine really focused across Wales, the southwest of England, southeast of England, but also south and eastern areas of Scotland.
00:55There's still some outbreaks of rain just affecting Orkney and Shetland, but for the vast majority, it is a dry day.
01:02In the sunshine, still feeling pleasantly warm.
01:05We'll see highs 24, 25, possibly 26 degrees, but always cooler along the coast where you've got a bit more of that onshore breeze.
01:13So as we go through Sunday evening, then, most of this cloud will shift its way eastward.
01:18It will start melting away, and then for many, it's a dry night to come, the exception across Orkney and Shetland,
01:25where we've still got this cloud and rain, but elsewhere, lengthy clear skies overnight.
01:30There will be some mist and fog patches developing, and a bit more of a breeze just developing across the west,
01:36especially across the southwest and into Northern Ireland as we start Monday morning.
01:41But otherwise, temperatures holding up in towns and cities in the double digits, but some spots may dip down into the high single figures.
01:50So for those off on bank holiday Monday, well, it's a fine and pleasant day out there.
01:55Plenty of blue skies, a much brighter picture across Scotland.
01:58Still holding on to some cloud across Orkney and Shetland, but for the vast majority, plenty of warm, lengthy sunshine.
02:06However, as we go into the afternoon, cloud will build across Northern Ireland.
02:11We'll start to see this weather front moving in, bringing some heavier spells of rain and also some stronger winds.
02:17But otherwise, in that sunshine, with more of that southerly flow, we'll draw up some drier air, but also some warmer air.
02:24So temperatures are going to be rising, 28, possibly 29, maybe even 30 degrees for the likes of the Midlands or even across parts of Wales.
02:34So a pleasant day to come for most of us for bank holiday Monday.
02:38So as we go into the evening time, though, this band of heavy rain will move its way across into Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland,
02:47and then eventually into the southwest of England, holding on to the clearest skies across the far east.
02:53So that leaves an unsettled picture as we go Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with heaviest spells of rain and showers and generally temperatures turning closer to average.
