00:00Hello there, good evening. Lee Sobot at the Orchard Evening Post here from, well I was going to say here from the Emirates Stadium, but not quite, from not too far away from there, but here to assess Leeds United's performance at the Emirates against Arsenal, which ended up in a 5-0 defeat, a 5-0 victory for Mikel Arteta's side, and a game to very, very quickly move on from for Daniel Farks-White, who, you know, a funny sort of game because 34, 35 minutes in the game was still goalless and he just sort of wandered.
00:30You know, could Leeds sort of carry on frustrating them, but in the end, as I say, a 5-0 victory for Arsenal and, you know, nothing sort of like tells welcome to the Premier League quite like that really, and it's one of those results that you could sort of, could have seen coming if everything clicked for Arsenal in the end, which it did.
00:48That said though, the defending, especially in the second half from Leeds, wasn't great. I know Daniel Farker felt the fifth goal was a bit of a soft penalty, but it did look like a bit of a foul just inside the area.
00:57And, you know, it's one to sort of like quickly move on from, really, for Leeds United.
01:02Two goals from the new striker, Victor Gokerez, including that penalty at the end.
01:06One from Bukayo Saka and two for Jurian Timber as well.
01:09And the first goal was just a header from a corner and a tail really at two corners, because at the other end, just before him, Pascal Stroik, I mean, probably should have scored with a sort of header from the middle of the box,
01:21but it was a fantastic save from David Raya. David Raya to tip that over the bar, and in not too dissimilar circumstances, Arsenal then go on and look at the other end,
01:29with Declan Rice's corner, very, very good corner, massively crowded box, and there was Timber to head in, into the back of the net.
01:36Broden was the closest to him, but, I mean, it was just a body of, just a sea of bodies, really, and he got there first.
01:42And that was 1-0, and I think as soon as it went 1-0 to Arsenal, 1-0 to the Arsenal, you sort of feared the worst.
01:47Leeds did sort of stay in the game, it has to be said, but then right on the stroke of half-time, again, an awful time to concede.
01:52Bukayo Saka played in behind Guadmanson. Guadmanson did pretty well in the first half against such a difficult test, really, but a good ball in from Timber behind him.
02:00Guadmanson, you know, but as I say, Saka in behind him, and Saka just a lethal finish, and that was 2-0, and I don't think anybody really saw any way back then, and that was the way it proved.
02:09But the second half in particular, the first sort of 10-15 minutes were really, really disappointing, and Guadmanson's goal, yeah, good finish, but cut him from the left, just ghosted past two defenders like they weren't there.
02:19That wasn't very good defending at all. Another one from a corner, which again was a bit of a mess, and then obviously had the penalty at the end.
02:25So, you know, it's one to forget. I mean, the Premier League's a funny, well, not a funny league, it's a top-class league, and there are massive goals in class, obviously, and that's obviously shown here, and whether you're going to have little mini-leagues within the Premier League is probably the way it's going to be.
02:39But for Leeds, it's about staying up, obviously, and for Arsenal, it's about trying to push on and win the title.
02:43One big talking point after the game is Yad Tanaka came off injured, and Daniel Farker said afterwards he's worried that he's having problems with his MCL, so that's obviously a huge worry if that's serious,
02:54because that's the same injury that obviously Ethan Ampadu's got, or the same area MCL anyway, so we'll wait and see what the situation is with that.
03:01Noah Roquefort made his debut as a second-half sub, but the game was all over by then. He didn't really do a right lot, but that goes for a lot of players.
03:06Arsenal were just home and hoes by that point, and it always became like a training exercise.
03:10So, it's one to move on from. Sheffield Wednesday away next on Tuesday night in the League Cup.
03:15I mean, you know, League Cup obviously means nothing compared to the league. It's all about staying in the league, but obviously they'll try and get through that.
03:22And then, obviously, it's on to the next big one, which is Newcastle at home next weekend.
03:25It's a funny one, because sort of like doing the ratings of the players, Leeds started all right, really.
03:29They dug in, and you can tell Arsenal were starting to get a bit frustrated, but they just caved in a little bit too easily, really, in the end.
03:35But that said, against absolute top-class opposition, and nobody's fooled themselves thinking Leeds can compete with this Arsenal side, really.
03:41So, Daniel Farkle was keen to say afterwards, you know, don't sort of get too down about it.
03:45It's not a season-defining defeat, which you totally get. That is totally true.
03:48Equally, it was disappointing. But look, let's be honest about it. Just move on from it.
03:52Pick up the points against the teams you need to pick up the points from, and at home.
03:56Maybe against Newcastle, which we'll wait and see. But, yeah, moving swiftly on from this one,
04:00Arsenal are a very, very classy outfit, and don't be all surprised if they win the league.
04:04Finished here this evening, Arsenal 5, Leeds United 0.
