00:00Hello there, Lee Sobot at the Orchard Evening Post here from Ellen Road, outside Ellen Road as you can see where the very last few people are heading home and heading home after a 2-2 draw which looked like it was going to be a 2-1 victory against Leeds United against Bournemouth but alas more late drama a 93rd minute equaliser for Ellie Kruppi to make it 2-2 which will be a bitter pill to swallow for Leeds when you look like you're heading for victory like that but the bigger picture I think overall is
00:29the performance from Leeds which was very very good against a very very good Bournemouth side who lined up today in 4th place and lots and lots of positives to take really albeit obviously with that blow at the end but I think the way Leeds played there and the way they started the season really that's 8 points now already at the moment mid-table it's still very very early days but you'd have to be I think cautiously optimistic I think everybody knows how hard it will be to stay in this division but it can be done there's no doubt about that Sunderland are obviously flying along
00:59they've literally as we're going out now just had a 1-0 win at Forest and Leeds aren't doing too bad themselves either and obviously would have been a fair bit higher had they held on for this victory here today
01:10it's a game really it's a funny one because I think beforehand everybody probably takes a point against a Bournemouth side in 4th but the number of chances Leeds had really they should really have left the ball 3 points and he did play very very well overall his overall display up front but Dominic Calvert-Lewin did miss 3 big chances at the start of the game
01:27he could have had a hat-trick early on really one of them a one-on-one a second one a free header another one a sort of like a flick shot at goal which was which was saved and obviously you just could do with putting one of those in the back of the net really to put Leeds in front and I think once all those 3 chances were missed against the side like Bournemouth you fear the worst a little bit and exactly like you know what you feared might happen did happen and it was that man Anton Semenyo that put Bournemouth into the lead with a free kick from the edge of the box Daniel Farkas said it was the softest free kick given all this weekend
01:56he's probably right it was a soft free kick a bit of a barge in the bat from Anton Stack but there was a bit of a barge in the bat so you can sort of see why it was given and Semenyo stepped up and fired it underneath the wall and it was an odd goal really because the Leeds wall was there Brendan Aronson was behind the wall as the draft excluder if you like but everybody jumped up it was like Semenyo knew it was going to happen fired it in low and Aronson wasn't covering the whole wall basically so it's a bit of a disappointing goal albeit against a very very good player
02:25in Anton Semenyo for a very very good side but you've got to you know really give it to Leeds for the way they responded and you know two unlikely scorers really I guess I mean Joe Rodon who was like a magnet in that box for every corner every corner seemed to fall to him
02:39towering header to put Leeds level from a Sean Longstaff corner more chances for both sides in the first half
02:45and then after the break Longstaff himself who'd got the assist follows it up with a goal I think he was most people's man of the match today and deservedly so he's had a real impact since coming in
02:54really settling into the side now classy operator really gets stuck in the leader as Daniel Farker called him as well you know a real classy finish from him after a few bites of cherry for Leeds players
03:04shots blocked and a great finish into the top crack corner in off the post and as I say that was 2-1 there was chances for both sides then Leeds you know definitely had chances to add another one
03:15Rodon as I say he probably had three four headers from corners every time he didn't score he looked disappointed and he'll probably think he could have had a brace at least himself
03:22but in the end five minutes added time after Bournemouth had just gone close he sort of anxious looks around Ellen Road you know what can happen and sure enough it does
03:30free kick not cleared and Ellie Crewe beat next from close range and you know moans and groans all around Ellen Road at that time
03:38obviously when you know Leeds United fans think the team are heading for a victory
03:41but I think you know you've got to be as I say very very pleased with the performance just a case of probably two points
03:48really that got away but yeah you know a very very pleasing display no doubt about that there are a lot of people say this team are an honest team
03:55with lots of soul and I think that's definitely I think that's definitely right
03:58you know they really do fight hard they're a big physical team they're hard to beat hard to break down
04:04and you know it's looking pretty good they just obviously need to take the chances a bit more
04:08but hopefully with Calvert-Lewin he is already off the mark and hopefully once he gets another one he'll soon get on a bit of a run
04:13but yeah finished 2-2 here a very very difficult game coming up next against the Tottenham side who are going very very well indeed
04:19at a Thomas Frank at Ellen Road but it's been over a year now since Leeds have lost here so it's a formidable place to come
04:26and you know why not I mean they'll be full of hope again that they can get something against Tottenham
04:30albeit that will be another very very difficult test
04:32then it's the international break and then obviously we are seven games into the season
04:36but a lot of people knew how hard it would be to stay in the division this season
04:40there's an awful awful long way to go but so far you'd be cautiously optimistic
04:44difficult one to take tonight today but another point on the board
