00:00Bradford City's comeback win against Stockport County in midweek has epitomised the positive start to the season that they have made in League One, having of course achieved promotion at the end of last season.
00:13It's been fantastic for everyone associated with the Bantams to see just how well they've adapted to life in England's third tier.
00:20Of course, they made a whole host of signings throughout the early parts of the summer and now once they've gotten to their strides in the league, it's been a joy to watch from everyone who is associated with the club.
00:33And the win against Stockport just epitomised exactly where they're at right now.
00:38Not great going behind in the game against Stockport, but then having the determination and the ambition and the will to come back and win that game by two goals to one just shows the job.
00:49that Graeme Alexander is doing with the players that he already had and the players that he's brought in as well.
00:56So let's hear from Graeme Alexander now as he reflected on that game against Stockport, which was such a momentous evening for the Bantams,
01:04coming back from a goal down to win by two goals to one and claiming another three points to begin their start to the season in League One.
01:12But also to look ahead to what's next and another away tie, this time against Peterborough,
01:17which, like any other, will not be an easy test.
01:21But you'd have to imagine that Bradford would go into it full of confidence given the results that they've had at the start of this season.
01:28And certainly, even if they were to go a goal down against Peterborough,
01:32you wouldn't fancy them to not at least have their chances in the game to get back into it.
01:37So let's hear now what Graeme Alexander had to say ahead of the Bantams' trip to face Peterborough United.
01:43I think the same opinion as I did at the end of the game.
01:48It was obviously two contrasting halves, quite extreme, both sides.
01:54And we just looked at the...
01:56We haven't had a chance to watch the game back, obviously, because we were training again this morning.
02:01But, you know, just had a brief look at the data and it's quite black and white between the first half and the second half.
02:07So we just fed that back to the players just to give them some semblance of understanding, you know,
02:13what happened last night and what we have to improve on going forward.
02:17And what the players did improve on in a click of fingers at half-time and just transform a game and win the game, which was brilliant to see.
02:28In many ways, is it of benefit for the game to play out in the way that it did to kind of have that hard evidence to show,
02:35actually, this is what, if you do this, this is what you can do in the second half?
02:39Yeah, I think, yeah, I think we're pretty understanding of how the challenge will come in every different facet,
02:49you know, from different angles and different scenarios and, you know,
02:52pretty much faced them all over the last 30-odd years as a player or as a coach.
02:56So you try to prepare the players in a way where nothing is ever final and fatal, you know,
03:04so there's always an opportunity, if the game's obviously still ongoing, to find a way.
03:10And that's the experience of going through those moments helps that understanding, that thought process.
03:16And, you know, because experience, if you're intelligent enough to understand what happened and what happened to correct it,
03:27then you're better prepared for the next time it will come along.
03:31And no doubt, we will get a goal down at some point this season, hopefully not too often, but it's definitely going to happen.
03:37So it gives the players confidence that we know how to turn a performance around and, you know,
03:43it needed turning around in a big way because, you know, first half, they were completely, you know, dominating.
03:51Yeah. And I spoke last night about you learning about this group and how they respond to that in-game adversity.
03:58But as players, maybe the newer players in this group, is that a good learning curve for them to experience that?
04:05Yeah, I think so. I think it's not just about yourself, but also about your team-mate.
04:11Yeah.
04:11Who's next to you in the changing room. And listen, we can all talk a good game.
04:15You know what I mean? We all talk in the staff offices, staff members, all in the changing room.
04:19Yeah, I can do this, we can do that. But you have to do it.
04:22You know what I mean? And then when the pressure's on or when the chips are down,
04:25that's when you have to prove who you are.
04:28And I think a lot of the players proved who they are to their teammates because they are a new group,
04:33you know, or half of them are a new group.
04:36So they're all understanding about each other, finding out about each other as they are with me and as I am with them.
