00:00Bradford City tasted defeat for the first time in League One this season, as they were beaten away from home against Doncaster Rovers by three goals to one. Manager Graeme Alexander reflected on the loss.
00:12Obviously disappointed, although I think our general play was that bad, certainly in the first half and in the second, to be fair, until we went down to ten men. But, you know, if we're going to concede really basic goals like we did today, then we're going to put ourselves under massive pressure, which we did. It's not taking anything away from the opponent, but the goals we conceded today were just goals that I've not seen us concede for a long, long time.
00:39Certainly multiple goals like that. So it's something that can happen. It's how we respond to that. I thought the players responded to the first goal really well. We're dominating the game, got the equaliser, but then we shot ourselves in the foot again.
00:55And it sort of punctured our momentum for a little bit. But I'd have been OK with 2-1 at half-time. The scoreline, not particularly how we competed. But the goal before half-time just sort of amplifies the difficulty we had in conceding really poor goals.
01:13And Bradford City's Max Power described the day as disappointing as they were defeated by Doncaster Rovers, although Bradford still have had a very positive start to their League One return.
01:26Yeah, clearly, obviously disappointed. The manner of defeat probably hurts the most. It's our first disappointment as a new squad, so it's a new feeling.
01:39And like I said, the disappointment in the dressing room was high then. Certainly because in which the manner in which we've lost the game, I think sometimes if you're going to lose a game, lose it by being done by good play or a worldy goal.
01:57And today that wasn't the case. I think we shot ourselves in the foot. We know that. We weren't at the races first half. We give ourselves a mountain to climb. And ultimately, if you give any team a two-goal advantage, it can be very difficult to turn around. So, yeah, disappointing day.
