00:00I love the Los Angeles Rams in this offseason, Joe Ranieri.
00:03I love what they did.
00:04I love their head coach.
00:05I love their quarterback.
00:06I love their wide receivers.
00:08I love their running back.
00:09I love their front seven.
00:11What's the song out there?
00:12I love L.A.
00:13You could catch me as an L.A. fan.
00:15But there are starting to see some cracks in the foundation
00:18and maybe cracks in the back of Matthew Stafford.
00:21Here's our head coach, Sean McVay,
00:23giving us a little bit of piece of information, huh?
00:25I know you guys will be wondering.
00:27It was good to be able to have Matthew out there.
00:29You know, he did a good job today.
00:31I thought he looked good.
00:32But, you know, I don't really have any updates.
00:35You know, I think there was a lot of intended information,
00:38but there's no updates.
00:39We're going to keep it a day and really a week at a time.
00:41But it's great to be able to see him out there today.
00:43And, you know, we'll see how this afternoon goes and tomorrow.
00:48We don't – there's really no – you know,
00:49I'm not going to pigeonhole myself into any plans, you know.
00:52And so we're just really, you know, seeing how he feels.
00:55We're truly taking it a day at a time and a week at a time right now.
00:57You know, I think we're just taking it a day at a time.
01:01You know, and I mean that too because, you know,
01:03what I'm not going to do is sit here and go back and forth every single day.
01:07I don't think that's fair to anybody involved.
01:09It's not, you know, it's not accurate with what's going on with the situation either.
01:12And so we're trying to, you know, get our hands on it.
01:15We're trying to do right by, you know, the player number one in our team.
01:19And so, you know, it was good to be able to have him out there today.
01:21Good to be able to have him out there, quote-unquote, today, Joe.
01:28That doesn't mean tomorrow.
01:29That doesn't mean I threw 50 passes that don't feel good.
01:31That doesn't mean a 320-pound defensive tackle will land on top of him
01:36as soon as the regular season begins.
01:38Then we'll see if that bat can hold up.
01:40There's a lot of issues here with the Rams, and it's a shame
01:43because if you get a healthy Matthew Stafford this year, they will do damage.
01:47If you don't get a healthy Matthew Stafford this year, I don't know where the Rams go, Joe.
01:53They're going to go to the Super Bowl, man.
01:55Stetson Bennett is here to the rescue.
01:57He's won a few.
01:59He's got a few rings on that finger.
02:00But if I'm not mistaken, Donnie, I think McVay and the Rams are going to take it week by week.
02:07I think that is safe to say, since he only said it 19 times during that interview,
02:14that they're going to take things week by week.
02:16And the fact that he was out there not just hanging around,
02:20but that he was able to do more than, you know, standing on the sideline and throwing,
02:26you know, doing his own individual work.
02:28He was taking part in the—he took all the reps with the teams, 11-on-11, with all the starters.
02:34So he was doing more than just being bubble-wrapped and shelved on the sideline by himself
02:40away from the other players.
02:41I think that is a good sign.
02:43But take this out of the equation.
02:45Even if there was no back issue right now, he's still a 37-year-old quarterback that has
02:50a history of dealing with back issues.
02:53So you're always going to hold your breath when he gets hit one way or the other this
02:57year, just like, Donnie, we have been doing for what?
03:00The last five years with him?
03:02The last five years with him?
