00:00In public health, proactiveness is invaluable.
00:04It is the difference between managing a contained incident and battling a full-scale emergency.
00:11So by identifying the risks before they escalate and putting robust measures in place,
00:16we can safeguard lives, minimize social and economic disruption.
00:22Health Minister Dr. Lac Rambudo says preparedness must also extend beyond his ministry.
00:27The Ministry of Health will also establish formal inter-ministerial arrangements
00:33with the Ministry of Housing and other ministries.
00:36Indeed, I'm happy to say that we've already collaborated with the Ministry of Rural Development
00:43and local government in the battle against dengue in the coming months.
00:49For CARFA, the training is a chance to sharpen skills across the region's health response teams.
00:55Over the next few days, the workshop will give you the opportunity to strengthen your individual deployment readiness,
01:03to examine and to assess regional multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms
01:09with the context of a simulated outbreak response.
01:13The workshop forms part of CARFA's wider effort to close gaps in the region's emergency response systems,
01:19from early warning and surveillance to cross-border coordination.
