01:14Robinson finally tracks him down
01:16after the gain of 30 yards big
01:19picture nationally people are
01:21talking about the Broncos like
01:23they haven't in maybe 10 years
01:25since the last one the Super
01:26Bowl.
01:27Yeah I agree they're definitely
01:28a playoff contender and Sean
01:30Payton ain't stopping there.
01:31He's saying Super Bowl contender
01:33and thinks this team can go all
01:35the way said that Bo can be a
01:38top four to five quarterback in
01:40a year or two and of course as
01:42it gets repeated the year or two
01:43gets dropped and they just say
01:45four or five quarterbacks so you
01:47look at him a little differently
01:48but Bo's obviously the key and
01:52you know the stalwarts that they
01:54added on defense they should be a
01:56top one two three defense talking
01:59about that defense Vance Joseph is
02:02going to be a head coach again
02:03likely because of how he's coached
02:05these guys what's been different
02:06this year with Greenlaw and Fonga
02:08back there in practice as you've
02:10heard it.
02:10Yeah Greenlaw when he was in there
02:12he really made a difference the
02:14problem is he hasn't been in there
02:16a whole lot he you know retweaked
02:17that quad and he's been out for
02:20quite a bit and Sean Payton said
02:21he hopes to have him back this
02:23week even putting on the pads
02:24one time I don't think you'll see
02:26him in the preseason at all not
02:28next week against New Orleans
02:29but he'll be should be ready by
02:31Tennessee just a physical
02:34intimidating presence he brings
02:36to the defense I think is going
02:37to help and it's really all
02:39connected right like everybody
02:41needs to understand if your
02:42defense is even better it was
02:44already a good unit a year ago if
02:46you're even better that means
02:49that defense is going to get the
02:50offense the football back more
02:52often and shorter fields and that
02:55will help Bo Nix in the offense
02:56and and vice versa I mean when the
02:58offense has the ball chances are
03:01you can't score on the Denver
03:02defense so that that's and see he
03:05wants a running game to go with
03:06it right a running game is the is
03:08the defenses not only the
03:09quarterback but the defense's best
03:11friend because it you know keeps
03:12them off the field they've got the
03:14pass rush if Benito is healthy you
03:17know you hope he's healthy after
03:19that bone spur in his foot and
03:21Zach Allen is back and of course
03:23they got Sertan locking people
03:25down in the backfield I mean it's
03:27on paper it's all there it might
03:29take him a couple I wouldn't be
03:31surprised if it takes him a couple
03:32weeks to match because they've had
03:34some guys down when's Benito
03:36getting paid I'm waiting for you to
03:37break that contract story you know
03:39his numbers yet the years the
03:40dollars you know his agent is the
03:42same one that Sertan has and
03:44Sertan got his deal done four
03:47days before the start of the
03:48regular season so that's what I'll
03:50predict for Benito he'll get it a
03:52couple days before the start of
03:53the run and the Broncos have done
03:54these things quietly right and
03:56Sutton extension that's really the
03:58culture that the Broncos have
04:00built the Zach Allen extension
04:04yep and not only that but bringing
04:06over those key players for good
04:08deals and that Courtland Sutton
04:09that's a team friendly deal as
04:11well but you know my start
04:13offense number sixty eight five
04:15yard penalty sport down rare to
04:18have a penalty on number sixty
04:20eight but that's now the ninth
04:22penalty of the night because that
04:24was your number is that what
04:25absolutely sharp intelligent

04:31Payton's gonna keep and how many
04:32running backs that's really gonna
04:33shape up this roster you know I
04:35think they got a chance of keeping

04:41that would be that would make it
04:43tough for Ellinger to make it and
04:45you hope he can keep him on the
04:46practice squad we'll see we'll
04:50lots from 35 and the Broncos will
04:53add their lead 27 to 7 now we'll

05:29Broncos doing it quietly that's
05:32opposed to what's going on in DC
05:35with Terry McClure and Dallas
05:36Micah Parsons Cincinnati with Trey
05:38Hendrickson it's a different world
05:40out there the Broncos that's credit
05:42George Payton and ownership and all
05:44those things one of the things too
05:47that you are doing is you're
05:49teaching younger players on your
05:50roster that if they perform they're
05:53gonna stay here and a lot of times
05:55teams will end up chasing a younger
05:56player to save literally you know two
05:58or three percent on a contract and
06:00it's not the same guy and if you're
06:01the Broncos one of the great things
06:03you can say you don't need anybody
06:05at any position you got the tight
06:06end you got the middle linebacker
06:07you got too many running backs
06:09it's a good problem to have if you're
06:11the Broncos Weaver on the return
06:13here's Scotty Gange hey guys I did
06:15interview Nick Benito about his
06:16extension maybe a week ago soon
06:18after Courtland Sutton signed his I
06:20said do you feel like you're next how
06:21are vibes going how are you feeling
06:22about that he said oh it's all it's
06:24my agent but I do know I love it
06:26here and I remember last year when
06:27the Broncos got knocked out of the
06:28playoffs in Buffalo Nick Benito was
06:31crying tears of sadness in the
06:33locker room doing during our
06:34interview he loves Denver he loves
06:37this team his teammates his coaches
06:38so I'm with Mike I wouldn't be
06:39surprised if he gets that
06:40extension quickly and before the
06:41season begins the NFL network on
06:45their crawl they ran their top 100
06:48players today and Nick Benito was
06:5137th and Micah Parsons was 35th I
06:55mean that's how close a lot of
06:58people view those two players well
06:59Nick Benito is a better player all
07:00around and Micah Parsons make no
07:02mistake about it he is a prolific
07:04pass rusher no one's taking that
07:06from him and he does not want to
07:08play the run Nick Benito on the
07:10other hand he plays the run he can
07:11rush the passer got three straight
07:13pressures last week and he does not
07:14have a lot of the players last
07:16week one of them ending in a sack
07:17and oh by the way he had a pick
07:18six last season I mean I didn't
07:20see Micah Parsons do that and
07:21that's again where it looks good
07:23Micah Parsons a big name bring him
07:24in he's also been a headache for
07:26that organization you got a guy
07:28who's quietly doing his work
07:29getting better after being drafted
07:31by the Broncos Nick Benito's
07:33done everything right speaking of
07:35Benito there's a sack good job
07:38Jordan Turner getting home rookie
07:40out of Michigan State undrafted free
07:43agent and I think that was based on
07:45the coverage excellent coverage and
07:47tune had nowhere to go with it lost
07:49seven on the play still got to get
07:50him down and for Turner this is one
07:52of those plays that to me he makes
07:53this play he's gonna make a few more
07:55now now he understands to trust
07:57himself and to trust his eyes I
07:59expect him to make a couple more
08:00plays before the evening's over I
08:02think the Broncos practice squad is
08:04gonna be something to see a lot of
08:06teams picking guys off that roster
08:08that's the biggest compliment you
08:10can get to and under pressure just
08:12got it away before he was dropped
08:14Michael Carter out to the 36 yard
08:17line Cynthia Freeland down on the
08:19field so maybe this guy Micah
08:21Parsons in a contract that also has
08:23some question marks let's call it
08:25that look his pressure percentage
08:27last year 19.1 percent per next-gen
08:30stat it was the best in the National
08:32Football League despite missing
08:33games so wherever he lands whatever
08:36happens maybe Micah Parsons would
08:38be you know a lot of fun to hang
08:40out with there's no doubt about that
08:43you'd be fun to hang out with and
08:45here's everybody gave Sean Payton
08:47some grief for saying he wants to
08:48win a Super Bowl how about this you
08:50got one of the best defensive ends
08:52saying Broncos have a real chance
08:54at the Super Bowl so don't get mad at
08:56him too wow this is now something
09:00we've heard echoed though from
09:01Drake Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga
09:03they said I wanted to come here
09:04because of the defense and because
09:06Bo Nix they had a young and the
09:07head coach and the ownership it's
09:09all rolling together now when you
09:11have a great ownership group that
09:13lets you do the things to win
09:14championships re-sign key players
09:16and bring in marquee additions you
09:19have a real shot and getting over
09:21that hump getting over that Chiefs
09:23hump in the season and getting that
09:25first playoff berth oh by the way
09:26Michael Parsons no playoff games
09:28and everything becomes a bigger
09:31deal with the Dallas Cowboys are
09:33involved and Jerry Jones and
09:35company there offensive at 71
09:38then your penalty with the first
09:40down when I joined in I never
09:46thought it would be like this
09:48we rotated the tires topped off the

10:37your scouting department is nailing it
10:40back to that statement Scotty said
10:42about Nick Benito tears of pain there
10:44when they lost in Buffalo last year in
10:46the playoffs you need that experience
10:48because what happens when you get in
10:49the playoffs in the NFL you realize
10:51it's one or two plays coach talked
10:53about that I didn't think that detail
10:55was important that's why it's so
10:57frustrating when you lose in the
10:58playoffs now you go back get back
11:00there this year for the Broncos Nick
11:01Benito he understands he's gonna be
11:02keyed in doing everything right for the
11:05full four quarters maybe five if it
11:08takes it that playoff game got away
11:10from Denver actually scored the opening
11:13touchdown at a seven nothing lead but
11:15the Broncos would not score again and
11:17you mentioned Kansas City and head
11:20coach Sean Payton has said look if we
11:22could have somehow gotten past
11:24Buffalo we were not afraid of seeing
11:26the Chiefs next in the AFC playoffs and
11:29again Payton said we have full respect
11:31for the Chiefs who have won the
11:33division nine consecutive years but it
11:35doesn't appear they're afraid of
11:37Kansas City anymore and that would
11:39have been interesting to see the two
11:40regular season games will be great
11:42when the Broncos and Chiefs get
11:43together that pass look like it was
11:45batted at the line of scrimmage and
11:47then green can't hang on to that
11:49knuckleball that that was deflected at
11:51the line with 12 seconds to play in
11:54this third quarter back to that
11:56matchup against the Chiefs I mean
11:57that's a real thing I know fans are
11:58saying how can you be afraid of a
12:00team you're you're a professional as
12:01well the truth is you go out you see
12:04Patrick Mahomes it's different when
12:06you hear him talking it's different
12:07when you try and make that tackle
12:08and he doesn't act and he gets rid of
12:10that football and you trying your
12:11best football play you can't get
12:12your hands on him so it's a big
12:14thing we had to get over the New
12:15England Patriots when I played that
12:17was a team you knew you're gonna
12:18see him at least once if not twice
12:20if you want to win a Super Bowl
12:21Chiefs in the same way Gillick in the
12:24punt Bandy the fair catch and
12:27you want to get ready to circle
12:29stuff like those Kansas City games
12:30you always want to always want to
12:32start off fast here you want to you
12:34want to get some games early on but
12:36this is the part of the schedule to
12:38me that is just a gauntlet I mean you
12:41get Kansas City in there at
12:42Washington at Las Vegas I mean that's
12:44a tough stretch and earlier in the
12:46season to these two games you're
12:48gonna know who the Broncos are right
12:49here you go to and all against those
12:51two teams yeah you can win a Super
12:53Bowl like that start though right
12:54Tennessee at Indy at the Chargers it's
12:58an opportunity to get off to a good
13:00start going into those two very
13:02difficult games and talk about teams
13:03you're not afraid of how about the
13:04Broncos taking Cincinnati to
13:06overtime last year on the road that
13:08was an impressive win and those
13:10impressive play even though they
13:11lost the game Cardinals able to
13:14swallow up another loss there for
13:17estimate loss of three on the play and
13:21that takes us to the end of three
13:22quarters it's all Broncos just like
13:26last week at Santa Clara here at home
13:28tonight Denver Leeds Arizona
13:30to Marius Thomas it's going to take
13:45his rightful place in the Broncos
13:48ring of fame he'll go with the
13:50twenty twenty five class third
13:52leading receiver of all time five
13:54time pro bowler to be a special
13:56ceremony week seven when the
13:58Giants are here October 19th
14:00that'll be during alumni weekend
14:02part of a larger celebration of the
14:04tenth anniversary of Denver's
14:06Super Bowl 50 season which my
14:08partner Ryan Harris was an important
14:10part of and so it'll be so much
14:14emotion involved there yep we miss
14:17him and the greatest teammate you
14:19could ever have the only receiver I
14:22played with that never complained
14:23for the ball right the traditional
14:27diva position but that's not who he
14:29was and he started his career with
14:31an injury people were questioning
14:32whether or not he would even play in
14:33the NFL and to put together the
14:35career he had was just remarkable
14:37here you're going to see the arm of
14:39Sam Ellinger just firing it to
14:41Michael Bandy Bandy needing to get
14:43some catches because everybody knows
14:44he can return kicks but can you play
14:46receiver if we need you to he says
14:48yes back to Demarius Thomas though
14:50just one of the greatest people to
14:52be around make sure no one was
14:54sleeping in meetings by throwing
14:55sunflower seeds at your head if
14:57you're dozing off and just one of
14:59the greatest teammates ever it's
15:00nice when the superstars in our
15:03game are also championship people
15:06oh he absolutely was and one of
15:08the plays that comes to mind for
15:09me we're playing Detroit the year
15:10we won the Super Bowl he's on the
15:12left side of the field the catch
15:13goes to the right he flies down
15:15field to make a block at the ten
15:17yard line not a lot of wide
15:19receivers are doing that when
15:20they don't get the ball he was an
15:21advocate for everyone on his
15:23team always smiled and gave a lot
15:25back to the community hosting
15:26kids for Christmas and things
15:27like that so taught us all how to
15:29be a good human being I was going
15:32to say get your tickets to try to
15:33be games sold out every game is
15:35sold out here you might know a
15:36guy Steve yeah I know a guy I
15:37know you would hopefully you know
15:39a few guys will be on the field
15:42great throw by Ellinger but just
15:44enough air on it look at that
15:46confident nod right there able to
15:51hook up with Caden preschool
15:53another interesting prospect
15:55rookie at Ole Miss twenty five
15:57years old good for twenty one
15:59yards preschool making the catch
16:01through traffic and you said it
16:02Steve a perfect ball from Ellinger
16:05just making he understands where
16:07that linebacker is but that's that
16:08experience he had in college and
16:09putting together his pro career
16:10putting together his pro career he
16:11knows he can make that throw if he
16:12puts some elevation in the ball
16:13preschool and showing some of some
16:16ability to do multiple things
16:19Courtney Jackson on the run we've
16:20seen a big in the return game
16:22makes the catch on a wide receiver
16:25screen but preschool even last week
16:27was almost used like a full back in
16:29the backfield for run plays we've
16:31seen that again here tonight watch this
16:33block here by bandy that's what opens
16:35up that sideline excellent point and
16:38you got to have it you gotta have
16:39receivers who can block we just
16:40talked about Mary's Thomas doing
16:41the same thing bandy saying there's
16:43no job too small give the ball to
16:45anybody you want as long as I'm on
16:46the field Sean Payton loves wide
16:48receivers who will block I'm sure
16:50every single head coach does in the
16:51NFL but it takes seems to be our
16:53priority takes a play from six yards
16:55to sixteen yards easy and the stuff
16:57that not everyone sees that shows up
16:59in the film room and his teammates
17:01will notice there's Michael bandy
17:03took a shot after picking up another
17:06first down for the Broncos he's
17:08smiling because he knows he's doing
17:09exactly what he needed to have
17:10happen in this game he's got two
17:12catches two big blocks and another
17:14one earlier in this half a guy like
17:17bandy he's trying to catch his
17:19breath right now because his dreams
17:20are right there he can almost touch
17:22him Ellinger following stidham
17:28going eleven of twelve for one thirteen
17:31a nice touch on his long tosses
17:33tonight as well handoff is Watson
17:37trying to pick some holes and bounce
17:38it outside that'll go as a loss
17:41handful of Cardinals were all there
17:43on the defense you see a difference
17:46Watson having some explosive plays
17:48earlier on with some second string
17:50linemen who are likely making the
17:51team now you put the threes in
17:53there's a little more missed
17:54blocks it's not as clear so it's
17:56tough for these running backs to
17:59make a name for themselves later in
18:00the preseason game because there's
18:01a lot of players trying to do that
18:02without the experience that you need
18:04at that offensive line position
18:06second and twelve red zone
18:08opportunity for the Broncos to
18:11enter their twenty point lead
18:13good pocket for Ellinger now
18:15breaks down shifts the ball to his
18:17left hand he'll scamper out of
18:19bounds at the twelve yard line
18:21forced out by Xavier Thomas it's
18:25kind of a bubble player Cardinals
18:27spent a fifth round draft pick on
18:29him last year out of Clemson spin
18:32strictly a pass rusher and makes a
18:34play there can't be a specialist
18:36in the NFL unless you're a punter
18:37or kicker and too many young
18:39players think they can come in the
18:40NFL and do what they were best at
18:42in college you have to be an all
18:44around player you're gonna be used
18:46as a production machine as a
18:47deception machine they're gonna use
18:48you in all kinds of ways you have
18:50to be able to do it all third down
18:52and eight Broncos want to run
18:55Audrick estimate inside the ten
18:59gonna bring up a fourth down echo
19:02Boyd oh there for Arizona small
19:06game but a good play for Audrick
19:08estimate the Notre Dame graduate
19:10bounces off of one would be

20:16familiarity when you walk in a
20:17building Evan Ingram had that and
20:20Coach Webb the text from Webb to
20:22Ingram was you like mountains and

22:41the injured Bronco is Garrett Nelson
22:45first year player out of Nebraska
22:47and he'll be attended to with

22:50sometimes it's like baseball right
22:52guy doesn't get a hit he gets one
22:53and now he's getting three in the
22:54next two innings and that's where
22:57Jordan Turner is right now playing
22:59fantastic at linebacker coaches

25:11day a little red zone play as your
25:13four point three GPA were cool with
25:15that to 121 and five in high school
25:18forty eight touchdowns rush for
25:20nearly thirty eight hundred yards and
25:22forty eight touchdowns at UCF and
25:26started the football game tonight a
25:28couple of big plays and more on the
25:32subject from Scotty Gage guys RJ told
25:35us a funny story from his draft
25:36night the other day he said he was
25:38eating ribs macaroni beans having
25:40the time of his life his mom said
25:42don't start eating don't eat you a
25:43team's gonna call you the second he
25:45had a whole mouthful of food the
25:48Denver Broncos give him a call and
25:49he was getting drafted soon after
25:50that I asked him if he's really
25:52five eight does your driver's license
25:53really say five eight you can't ask
25:55him that and he said yes he's
25:57really five eight you know they
25:58always lie on the program they
26:00make you taller and not as heavy
26:02right talking about Kyler Murray
26:03let's go no yeah no and I tell
26:06you what I think RJ Harvey's the
26:08happiest player in the NFL I mean
26:10he smiled through our entire
26:11interview yes and Scotty mentioned
26:13he had the mouthful of food the
26:14play there is to spit out the food
26:16I don't care where you hopefully
26:17you're near garbage can but
26:18Denver Broncos NFL team calls the
26:20draft you spit the food out and
26:22get after it get on that phone we
26:31asked Harvey about player he might
26:32lean on and of all the players he
26:34could choose from he said Michael
26:36Burton the fullback has been his
26:38guy Michael Burton and I found
26:40that interesting Burton's out of
26:41the hamstring injury former
26:43Super Bowl champion always Super
26:45Bowl champion with the Kansas City
26:46Chiefs future broadcaster as well I
26:48I was one of the instructors and he
26:50came around and he can call a
26:51football game so he's holding off
26:53his career but it also tells you
26:55something about RJ Harvey that he's
26:57asking veterans and and he said that
26:59together that with Burton they will
27:02walk through all the plays before
27:04practice that's a tremendous gift
27:05that Burton's giving RJ Harvey he
27:07Burton's a veteran he knows what it
27:08takes to win week 26 in the NFL and
27:10here he is helping out a young
27:12rookie and that's the caliber of
27:14character that the roster is built
27:16with Sean Payton and George Payton
27:18put together not just a roster of
27:19athletes who can play but quality
27:21people who are going to help lift
27:22this team to a new level both by the
27:25defense pass interference number
27:27twenty six that penalty is declined
27:30personal foul face mask number twenty
27:33eight that penalty will be accepted
27:34fifteen yards from the previous
27:36spot automatic first out I can't
27:39blame Rom Torber for losing his
27:40voice tonight either he's getting a
27:42wear workout talking a lot top of
27:45your screen that's where the face
27:46mask was excellent job by the
27:49referees to see it but this late in
27:51the game this is where threes and
27:52fours are getting in and some of
27:54the lies they told themselves didn't
27:57do the work showing up that's the
27:59officials are getting graded too
28:00aren't they I wish they were Steve
28:02I wish they were Sean Payton probably
28:06does too you know him of the famous
28:08no-call and the Saints he talked to
28:10us he thought that group was really
28:12going to win a Super Bowl
28:13championship and he told us he
28:14thinks this group can it has the
28:15talent and one of the things I love
28:17as a former player hearing everybody
28:18says they want to win a Super Bowl
28:19yes the beginning of the year every
28:21single Bronco player we talked to
28:22said now we got to go earn it we
28:24have to go earn it and that's the
28:25exact mentality you have to have you
28:27can't just declare yourself a
28:28champion you have to prove it over
28:29the course of the season Payton had
28:31a great analogy in talking about
28:34after he's already won the Super
28:36Bowl you want to do it for other
28:38people the analogy was he said it's
28:40like going to a restaurant with
28:42someone else for the first time
28:43you've already been there and you
28:45know it's the greatest meal you
28:46want other people to experience and
28:49taste that meal and he said and it's
28:52500 times better than you think it
28:55is and of course it's not a meal or
28:57a restaurant it's winning the Super
28:59Bowl and next week might be a
29:00little emotional Sean back in New
29:02Orleans to preseason game but still
29:05and it's not just Sean other people
29:07on his staff like Darren Rizzi the
29:09special teams coordinator for the
29:11Broncos people might forget he was
29:13the interim head coach for the
29:15Saints for the final nine games of
29:18last season so something else to
29:20watch for in the final preseason
29:22game we'll ask them where to eat
29:23right and tell ask what restaurant
29:24to go to where I already know
29:25you'll be there don't you all
29:26right I know a guy too and what
29:28Sean's talking about is when you
29:30win that Super Bowl you've built a
29:32winning culture and you learn two
29:34things number one everything you
29:35believe about yourself comes true
29:37for other people and number two
29:39you learn that you have to help
29:41others on your way up I mean
29:42Peyton Manning did that better than
29:43anybody on offense here we won the
29:45Super Bowl he could do everything
29:46and yet he knew that we had to be
29:48on the same page as him the little
29:50meetings he would have the extra
29:52practices those things made a huge
29:53difference when you win the Super
29:55Bowl you have a team that cares
29:56about each other cares about the
29:57craft and will not be denied some
30:01of Peyton's thoughts on building a
30:02winning culture draft talent paid
30:04talent and when would select free
30:06agents you want to be able to keep
30:09your roster you want to hit on that
30:11draft guys like Jonah Ellis and guys
30:14like Troy Franklin but you also have
30:16to pay the players I mean there's no
30:18reason why Terry McLaren doesn't have
30:20the deal he wants in Washington right
30:22now and that is just bad operations
30:24over there and that's not happening
30:26here but in Denver he said of
30:28Cortland Sutton you pay for character
30:30and makeup here's the head coach
30:32obviously it has to start with
30:35quarterback it has to start with
30:37defense it has to start with
30:39offensive line like there's there's
30:41certain things that if they're not on
30:44point it's it's hard to make a
30:46statement like that and but when you
30:49when you look at some of these
30:51critical factors and look I told them
30:54that and I was no that doesn't mean
30:57that just means you have a chance and
31:04and then I would say most importantly
31:05ownership because there's 20 that
31:10each year have hope and dreams and
31:15they're dysfunctional at the top
31:20the Walton Penner ownership group
31:22earning high marks all across the
31:24league and you heard it there from
31:26the head coach Sean Payton nearly a
31:29touchdown for the Broncos there Caden
31:32pre-score and had it but Vi Jones
31:36felt it have got the football back
31:38and it's a touchback instead coach
31:41coaching point is finish you have to
31:43finish with details and pre-score
31:46and they're just really frustrated
31:48with himself right here you don't
31:49have to go down but get two hands
31:51on that football Mike Tomlin at the
31:53Pittsburgh Steelers says it all the
31:54time when you carry that football
31:55you're carrying the hopes and dreams
31:56of our team pre-score and just
31:58forgot about it a little bit there
32:00it's one of those coaching points
32:02you learn it once you don't have to
32:03learn again and better to do it now
32:05than against the Chargers in the
32:07season Elijah Jones there first then
32:10Vi Jones and instead of a touchdown
32:12and maybe a career lifetime highlight
32:15it's a turnover and a touch back in
32:18Arizona football a turn of events
32:21there it's tough because pre-scoring

32:51I'm not sure how you how you can
32:53console a young player like that
32:55well you if you're if you're on his
32:57team you tell him hey look man that's
32:59one play in a list of plays you did
33:01make so that's going to happen how
33:04you respond matters most though
33:05pre-scoring's gonna get another
33:06chance you're gonna get back on that
33:07field go make a play don't make up
33:09for it go make a play third down
33:12Nate those still in attendance make
33:14it some noise
33:19two straight drop flush from the
33:21pocket roll to his left horn across
33:23his body not even close looked like
33:26the official went for his flag and
33:28then in the end decided not to throw
33:29it and it's fourth down riff must be
33:32on a red-eye flight tonight wants to
33:35catch it but again fantastic coverage
33:38by the Broncos defensive backs I
33:41think they have the best defensive
33:42backfield in the NFL right now
33:44maybe a lot of players who are upset
33:46because they get cut on cut day only
33:47to be happy 12 to 24 hours later
33:50when another team picks them up people
33:52getting a lot of good film on Blake
33:54Gillick and this is his ninth punt
33:57majority seeming in the second half
33:59got more points less points than
34:02punts you're not having a good game
34:03looks great point bandy on the return
34:06sure-handed it's a 59 yard punt so if
34:11Gilligan's leg is tired is not showing it

34:26only time I want to hear about a
34:27specialist in the NFL is kicker or
34:29punter that's it you can't be a
34:31specialist anywhere else you hear that
34:33right a pass rushing specialist yep run
34:36stuffing specialist and the thing is is
34:38when you get in the game if coaches
34:40know that's your specialty they're
34:41gonna make it look like run and open
34:42to play action pass right if you're
34:44rushing the passer now we're getting
34:45screens we're getting draws there's
34:46ways to call plays to get players out
34:48of what they're a specialist in when
34:50you're an all-around player like a
34:51DeMarcus Ware of Vaughn Miller I know
34:53that's the highest level but those
34:54guys played every down every square
34:57inch you had to fight with your hands
34:59your teeth everything to try and have
35:01success against a player like that and
35:03conversely at the running back spot
35:04you want to be a three down back you
35:06don't want to just come in on third
35:07down for pass protection yep and it
35:09doesn't and it's not like college
35:10where you're breaking out the
35:11formation and there's three guys who
35:13can't cover on defense that running
35:15backs gonna have to sit in there
35:16against the Patrick Queen and do you
35:17have to sit against some of those
35:18guys offense number 64 10 yard
35:21penalty with the first down Ron is
35:26earning his salary tonight yep as for
35:29these running backs again we know for
35:32sure J.K. Dobbins and R.J. Harvey and
35:35then it becomes is it one of these
35:38four players is it maybe two of the
35:41four players the Broncos can keep
35:43what's your final assessment of
35:44tonight again we still have one more
35:46game to play next week which a little
35:47McLaughlin I thought brought himself
35:49into the conversation tonight he got
35:51those big rushes had one called back
35:53as well Tyler Bidet continues to show
35:55he can do everything you want Blake
35:57Watson and Audrey guess me they're
35:59having tough sledding today and you
36:01got it in with thing with estimate
36:02there's no catches you've got to
36:04catch the football in a Sean Payton
36:05offense at running back so it's not
36:07enough to have good runs can't be a
36:09specialist like we just talked
36:10about you have to be able to do it

36:25I have to play my best I have to help
36:27my teammates and then you do it
36:29you and somebody says hey you want

36:33my life you know cold refreshing
36:35ah no stress Gatorade that's it and
36:37that doesn't last now that's going to
36:39run out here pretty soon right
36:40there's only stress Gatorade the

36:45for Arizona first down and 24 the

36:56on this clock we approach the two
36:59minute warning so next week the plan

37:03Broncos are going to practice

37:08Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Payton

37:16on a plane Friday afternoon and fly

37:20expected to play a little bit in
37:21that third preseason game eight to
37:23ten snaps roughly so we'll get
37:24another look at Bo Nix and when I
37:26playing with Gary Kubiak Mike
37:28Shanahan those coaches even Andy
37:30Reed they want their starters to
37:31get that okay we're going into
37:33halftime coming back out for a
37:34series you really want to get that
37:35conditioning up and teach your
37:37players that hey sometimes you're
37:38gonna have a great play game
37:39plan to start but it's gonna
37:40change in that third quarter

40:01very sure to experience during the
40:04regular season and victory formation
40:09for Denver the Broncos will go to 2-0
40:13for what it's worth in the preseason
40:15they went 3-0 last year and after
40:19hammering the 49ers last week 30 to 9
40:23Denver does the same thing to the
40:26Arizona Cardinals 27 to 70 you're
40:28practicing winning practicing scoring
40:30points practicing shutting them down
40:32on defense and that's all that's what
40:35these games are for you can't say they
40:37don't mean anything and then say oh
40:38winning doesn't matter either you got
40:39to practice winning finishing the
40:40game making the plays that make the
40:42difference and the Broncos building
40:44on week one in many ways and many
40:47players many more players this week
40:49having a lot more success and plays
40:51that they can talk about and smile
40:52about back in the locker room how many
40:55things will Sean Payton be upset about
40:56from this game I'm thinking five he's
40:58got a manufacturer some each one of the
41:01false start penalties he's going to be
41:02upset can't just put that in one group
41:04and call the penalties you got one
41:05turnover now on the entire preseason
41:07which is phenomenal two games no
41:09turnovers you got your first one today
41:13he'll find something I assure you and
41:15that's the job of a coach though
41:16especially when you have championship
41:18expectations the thing you are
41:19beating is comfort you do not want
41:21your players to get comfortable with
41:22success you don't want them to be you
41:24don't want them to be satisfied with
41:26their performance consistency in the
41:28NFL means constantly improving and so
41:30you're gonna find those little things
41:32on the margins to be better on your
41:34team so that you can do it without
41:36thinking week 16 through 19 and the
41:38fear of the depth chart is real and I
41:40think the coaches want that too they
41:42want these players no looking over
41:43their shoulders yep you're being
41:45pressed to play your best at all
41:47times or else someone is coming to
41:49take your job which is a day in the
41:51life in the NFL it's a player you
41:52know that better than anyone and
41:53that's the lowest level of stress
41:55right because if you can't handle
41:56that how are you going to handle
41:57going in three games we got to win
41:59two and two of them are against the
42:00division opponents right point you got
42:01stress that's coming down the pipe
42:03here in the season that's
42:04inevitable and if you can't handle
42:06a little competition can't be on a
42:08roster Blake Watson having a
42:12phenomenal night sometimes two young
42:15players you'll have coaches from
42:16other teams come up hey I liked your
42:18game good job maybe they're not on
42:20this roster but another out of the
42:23field get some reaction to the game

42:44the energy to be like this I was in
42:45awe all night I can't wait for week

42:49saw you run over to Troy Franklin
42:50and just pointed at him and you
42:51dapped him up what was that all
42:52about he had he had the block to
42:53spring me on the long run I had a
42:54long passing catch and run a huge
42:56play for him I mean just I saw it
42:58happen he that play doesn't happen
43:00without that block so I always
43:02out receivers you block the ball
43:03is gonna find you for him to
43:04score to finish the drive was
43:05awesome how confident are you in
43:06this unit right now we still got a
43:08lot of work to do we still got a
43:09lot of work to do I love our
43:10energy I love our work ethic I love
43:12our attention to detail but there's
43:13still a lot of things we gotta
43:14clean up and that's just our
43:15mentality is how good can we be
43:16we just gotta keep working
