Ollie Westbury gives you his take as Shrewsbury Town were beaten for a third time in a week. Fresh from a battering at Tranmere and a League Cup loss to Grimsby - Salop went down 2-0 to Colchester.
00:00Shrewsbury with yet another disappointing result here at the Crowdmeadow as they fall to a 2-0 defeat to lead to rivals Colchester United.
00:11The teams arrived today and Shrewsbury arrived having on the back of the news of Director of Football Mickey Moore losing his job.
00:18Yesterday he was, the club parted ways with the Director of Football that was appointed in 2023.
00:25Yesterday afternoon and less than 24 hours later they fall to another defeat.
00:31Was it fresh optimism, renewed hope? Was that the way that people felt?
00:36He was unpopular for many reasons here in Shropshire and the news seemed to have gone down pretty well with Shrewsbury fans.
00:47But Teohan improved in the first half of today's game, they did okay, they put plenty of balls into the box, didn't quite have the quality to create a real clear-cut opportunity from that quality.
01:01And unfortunately, just after the hour mark, they were punished.
01:05And the moment they go behind, it feels like the deja vu, Groundhog Day once more, that they just don't seem to be able to muster anything up.
01:14I mean, that's the third straight League Two game that they've not managed to score.
01:18I can't think of many clear-cut opportunities that they managed to create.
01:22So it's another really difficult afternoon and day out for Michael Appleton's men.
01:26It just cannot seem to get it together in the final third.
01:30There's a slight change in formation with Taylor Perry playing in the number 10 and dropping a bit deeper.
01:35But, you know, they just can't quite seem to create those clear-cut chances.
01:40The game kind of evolved around a moment in the second period where Tommy McDermott, who did really, really well, by the way, on his first start in his Shrewsbury shirt,
01:50but he lunged into a challenge and was shown a straight red card.
01:53When I saw it, I thought it was perhaps fair.
01:56In real time, I expected the red card to come out.
01:58I haven't seen a replay, but it looked as though that was a fair call.
02:03Michael Appleton seems to think that he hasn't made too much contact.
02:06It was only with one foot, but the game from that moment onwards becomes an uphill battle for Shrewsbury to try and get a result.
02:15You know, it's always going to be tough when you're down to 10 men, you're 1-0 down.
02:19And then, obviously, when the second goal goes in, which felt like a really, really disappointing goal to concede,
02:26Shrewsbury have then got an uphill battle.
02:28The stadium goes, you know, the reaction is sour.
02:30It's a pretty horrible atmosphere to be involved in, frustration shown towards Shrewsbury chairman Roland Whitcherley,
02:36and town never, ever looked like getting back into the game.
02:40All your reaction is going to be on the Shropshire Star in the next couple of hours,
02:44but it's another really tough afternoon for Shrewsbury town.
