Thousands flock to Royal Queensland Show for busiest day in more than a decade

The Ekka public holiday saw thousands flock to the Royal Queensland Show for the busiest people's day in more than a decade. The show holiday has been a fixture in the Queensland calendar since the Ekka’s inception right back in 1876.

00:08It's a busy day today, it's the public holiday so I reckon there's going to be quite a few

00:15Fourth generation farmers like Geoff Atkinson from the Wide Bay show off their produce.

00:21My pineapples, they're picked ripe and ready to eat.

00:24While some are still honing their craft.

00:27Taking a break from Canberra's winter, the Prime Minister sampled some of the Sunshine State's best.
