00:00Queensland's ECHA is back and it's better than ever.
00:05Now opening weekend saw more than 85,000 people flock through the gates here at the Brisbane showgrounds.
00:12But today it's not all show bags and show ponies.
00:15There's a little bit of work to be done too.
00:18Now Queensland senior government ministers will arrive at the showgrounds today for their annual ECHA cabinet meeting.
00:24Now this is a time honoured tradition here at the ECHA for these ministers to gather,
00:29have their meeting early in the morning.
00:31They typically use it to focus on primary industry and agriculture issues.
00:35And then for the rest of the day they head out into the show, chat with constituents and stallholders.
00:41But it's not just politics on the agenda here today.
00:44Now last week at the show it was all things beef with cattle as far as the eye could see.
00:49But today it's all things horses.
00:52The thoroughbred judging is now underway with champion horses set to be decided this afternoon.
00:58Now today is the public holiday for everyone in regional Queensland here at the ECHA.
01:03So if you're outside of Brisbane today is your show day off.
01:07Of course for those in the city here in Brisbane that is on Wednesday for the ECHA's People's Day.
01:12But now look if animals aren't your thing here at the ECHA there is plenty more on offer.
01:17Of course there's sideshow treats as far as the eye can see, show bags, rides and plenty of strawberry sundaes to enjoy.
