00:10has taken out the gong for heaviest on ground,
00:13following in the footsteps of his big brother last year.
00:16I was fairly confident because I knew he was bigger than Buster was last year,
00:20so it had to be a pretty big bull.
00:22Cracker is one of hundreds of cattle in Brisbane ahead of Ecco Beef Week.
00:26Many producers have travelled from across the country.
00:30We've been coming now for about ten years to the Ecco.
00:33Yeah, absolutely love it.
00:34Bringing the speckles up and, yeah, showing them about.
00:37Judging starts tomorrow.
00:39Today was all about final touches.
00:41This is like a conditioner, same as the ladies sort of wear,
00:45and then, you know, all the time you're trying to bring the hair up.
00:47A bit of pampering.
00:48Yeah, we just finished washing him.
00:50So, yeah, now we're just blow drying him to get all his hair nice and fluffy.
00:53Handlers sleep on site and keep a close eye over their prized animals.
00:58We'll pull the animals out of their beds and we'll clean their beds
01:03so they're nice and presentable.
01:05And then, if the animals need to, we'll give them a wash and a blow dry.
01:08They just chill out for the rest of the day
01:10and we just tend to them when we need to.
01:12Cattle competitions have been a core part of the Ecco since the very first show in 1876
01:17when there were just three breeds on display.
01:20This year there are almost 30.
01:22This is what the Ecco's all about, really.
01:24It's about the country coming to the city
01:26and having these people from the bush come here with their livestock.
01:29The public will be able to judge for themselves from Saturday.
