In this troubleshooting tutorial video, I'll show how to fix crashing in Batman: Arkham City. For most users, this crashing occurrs during the Catwoman cutscene in the game.
The crash is caused by the absence of a specific driver, required to run the game. There are two methods to fixing this problem. While both work, I suggest using the second method, because it keeps all features of the game.
FIRST METHOD 1. Open the game folder 2. Go to "Binaries" 3. Open "Win32" 4. Open BmLauncher 5. Go to "Settings" - Scroll down 6. Turn "PhysX" OFF However, this method turns off the PhysX physics system in the game, which I do not recommend. However, this fixes the crashing.
SECOND METHOD 1. Go to the Internet 2. Search for Nvidia PhysX Legacy, like I show in the video 3. Download it 4. Install it The PhysX legacy driver and the PhysX current driver coexist in the computer. One driver does not affect the other.
If the Nvidia PhysX legacy driver webpage is no longer available, you can use the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to access the page. I show how to do that in the video.
You can find the official Nvidia PhysX legacy driver at: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/physx/physx-9-13-0604-legacy-driver/ If the original Nvidia webpage is no longer available, you can use the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to access the recorder version of the page, just like I show in the video.
