00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:03Derbyshire Police have placed a dispersal order across Chesterfield Town Centre
00:07following a spate of complaints about antisocial behaviour in the area.
00:11The Section 34 notice, which lasts 48 hours, began at 7.55pm last night
00:17and will last until the same time on Wednesday, 13th August.
00:21Police say the order has been introduced following an increase in calls about antisocial behaviour in the Town Centre area.
00:27The order will allow officers to disperse people from the designated part of the Town Centre covered by the order
00:33and, if they are involved in instances of antisocial behaviour, take anyone aged under 16 back to their home address.
00:41Anyone who refuses to leave the area is committing an offence, which, if convicted,
00:45can lead to a fine of up to £2,500 and or three months in prison.
00:50A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said,
00:52We always give careful consideration when deciding to introduce dispersal orders
00:56and are careful to make sure that they are implemented only when absolutely necessary,
01:01but this measure will ensure that antisocial behaviour issues in and around the Town Centre will be dealt with robustly.

01:37and the thermometer only dropping a few degrees on Wednesday.
