00:00Hello, I'm Rachel Grealish from the Yorkshire Post and today we have the latest from the inquest into the death of 10-year-old Savannah Bentham.
00:08Her parents wiped away tears as the court heard how Savannah was fatally injured by the family's XL bully pet, Biggie, a dog they had always described as lazy.
00:21Savannah was alone in the family's static caravan home near Moulton when the dog attacked, causing fatal neck injuries.
00:28She was found in a fetal position with a dog nearby covered in blood. Despite the efforts of the neighbours and the paramedics, she could not be saved.
00:38The inquest heard how Biggie was fully legal, microchipped and had no known history of aggression.
00:44Coroner John Heath concluded that Savannah died from injuries inflicted by the family pet and offered his condolences to her parents.
00:53The inquest has now concluded.
