00:00Mamba Energy Ltd is one of Zambia's largest independent power producers.
00:06The company also boasts of being Zambia's only co-fired thermal power plant.
00:11Mamba Energy currently operates a 300 MW thermal power plant consisting of 250 MW units which were
00:19commissioned in August 2016 and contribute 8% of Zambia's installed generation capacity.
00:24Following the 2024 drought Mamba Energy has been a key partner in the country's power supply by
00:32consistently feeding into the national grid. The company will in the next few days shut down
00:38part of its generation to facilitate for maintenance works. So unit one will shut down on 17th of August
00:47and it will come up online on 31st of August and unit two will shut down on 7th of September
00:54and it will come up online on 21st of September. The president visited us and he gave us two clear
01:01instructions and words of advice. He told us that for him and for his government the integrity of the
01:10assets at Mamba power plant is paramount and he has advised us to do whatever it takes to maintain the
01:16longevity and the smooth efficient running of this power plant. Hence our maintenance schedules
01:25are so robust and so strong. Despite this setback the company is next year expected to commission phase
01:32two of its power plant bringing on board more electricity. In the coming few months we'll be adding
01:39another 300 megawatts into the grid our phase two operations are on and by middle of next year our
01:45phase two operations will be online. Zesco Limited is elated with this development projecting consistent
01:52power supply in the near future. So we're looking forward to seeing how Mamba is going to continue
01:57on this trajectory of supporting the government and the people of Zabe in providing power supply.
02:04Our pride with Mamba Energy is the fact that as an alternative source of energy using coal this is
02:11a benefit that our customers get. Mamba Energy also has a 100 megawatt solar power plant in the pipeline
