00:00The Cowboy Magistries Court has set September 25, 2025, as the date of judgment in a case incarcerated former Kabushi Patriotic Member of Parliament, Boman Lusambo, and four others are charged with the case of unlawful assembly.
00:16This is in a matter where Boman Lusambo and four others are facing one count each of unlawful assembly, contrary to sections 74 and 75 of the Pino Code, Act Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
00:30The other four accused persons are Said Chiwana, age 52, of Industrial Area, Matthews Changwe, age 39, of Cassandra Mine Area, Martin Simfukwe, age 44, of Makuru Compound, and Birisi Chamba, age 52, of Wacha Compound O of Kawe District.
00:50When the matter came up for defense, the defendants called in six witnesses to refute crimes made by the prosecution.
00:57In cross-examination, the prosecution produced a video showing Lusambo and his co-accused persons addressing a crowd of people near Staro's restaurant in Kawe's town center.
01:10At the close of the defense trial, the defense made an application to concede a written submission within 14 days and the state shall respond by August 27.
01:21Major street pressure has since adjourned the matter to September 25, 2025 for judgment as the other four accused remain on bail except for Lusambo, who is serving a sentence for another crime.
