00:00Iran has ruled out direct talks with Washington. What does that mean for the future of nuclear
00:07negotiations between both of the countries? Well, first of all, thanks for having me, Leon.
00:13I don't think that Iran's refusal to talk directly to the United States
00:20impedes negotiations unless the United States team decides to take offense.
00:26But, you know, for the last couple of years, Iran wouldn't speak directly with the United States.
00:32They did so indirectly via Oman and talks proceeded. And they actually look like they
00:38might be getting somewhere. But, you know, they just broke apart over one key issue.
00:43So if the United States is willing to swallow its pride and say, OK,
00:47we can do the indirect talks, then they can go ahead and talk.
