00:00Hello friends, I'm Chef Amit. Today I'm back doing Chikku Halwa.
00:10We'll take six chopped Chikkus and we're going to blend it into a smooth paste.
00:15So this is finely pureed, now we'll take a heavy saucepan.
00:34So we will take a Chikku paste, add it to the pan and on medium heat, along with milk.
00:45Once it starts bubbling, we will add the Khoya, 150 grams.
01:12If Khoya is not available, you can even use milk powder, approximately half a cup, mixed with water or something.
01:20Now you can see that the batter that is getting cooked, they started leaving the vessel from below.
01:35So it's time to add a tablespoon of ghee.
01:45And half a cup of powdered sugar.
01:47The Chikku itself is quite sweet, so we don't need to add a lot of sugar to this.
01:59We will allow it to cook and bubble up, partly three to four minutes more.
02:13So our Halwa is done now. It's quite stiff and thickened and it's ready to be plated.
02:23You can see the consistency, how nice and thick it's become.
02:25See how well it's left the pan, it's an indication that it's nicely cooked.
02:42All the ghee remaining behind in the pan and only the Halwa coming out.
02:46We will garnish this with a little bit of chopped pistachio and almonds.
02:49So the Halwa is done and ready to be served.
