00:00A dog that accidentally boarded a South Sydney bus on Tuesday 5th of August has sparked a community-wide hunt for their owner.
00:08Three-year-old American staffie Athena was spotted riding the 476 bus from San Susi to Cogra, about five kilometres away.
00:17After realising the determined doggy had boarded alone, fellow passenger followed Athena off the bus,
00:24guided her away from the train tracks and handed her to station staff, who contacted Sydney Dogs and Cats Home.
00:31After a flurry of Facebook posts, a relative of Athena's has come forward to confirm she'll be picked up from the shelter on Thursday 7th of August.
00:41Athena had never run away, and I think she was curious about what it was like to ride a bus.
00:46I hope she didn't bring any inconvenience and problem.
00:49Athena is a sweetheart, playful and very excited.
00:52Thank you to everyone who cared and treated her well.
