00:03As a professional food stylist, these are the two ways to cut corn.
00:06The average ear of corn has 800 kernels. If you're having to do a lot of corn,
00:10this is the only way to do it. Base the corn onto the top of your inverted bowl.
00:14Take your knife. We're just going to push down. One of the popular things to do,
00:17non-sharp edge of our knife. We're just going to drag it down, getting all that corny goodness.
00:22This method is how we're going to optimize being able to use every part of this corn.
00:26You can keep these around and make a really delicious corn stalk. When you don't really
00:30need these kernels to be connected at all, you actually want them to be separate.
00:34Something like escapas, that's a really cool method. I'm going to show you another method
00:38that we use if you want to make it look real pretty. Just going to take my knife and just
00:41with one nice push, slicing it off. As you can see, we're left with almost a completely intact
00:46chunk of the cob. Just roll it. Now you got a nice flat base. Just doing the same thing onto all the
00:51sides. Anytime I'm using corn in a salad, I love this method so that you're not having to search
00:56for individual little pieces. Also visually, it really reads better.
