00:00Hi again.
00:01We've got storm florists on the way on Monday and that's expected to bring some disruptive
00:05wind and rain across the more northern parts of the UK in particular.
00:09But it's a fine end to Saturday for many of us.
00:12We've seen some sunshine in many places today and that sunshine will lead to fairly lengthy
00:16clear skies developing as we go through this evening and overnight across England and Wales.
00:20Further north and west though, a different story, turning much cloudier and damper.
00:24Outbreaks of rain spreading in from the Atlantic and some of those outbreaks of rain will be
00:28fairly heavy.
00:29There'll also be some areas of low clouds, so turning quite misty and murky over the
00:32high ground.
00:33And even around some coasts as well, we'll start to see it turning quite misty as well.
00:38But out towards the north and the west, it's going to be a very mild and increasingly humid
00:41night.
00:42So temperatures 15 to 17 degrees by the end of the night.
00:45So very much milder than last night.
00:47Down across the south and the east though, underneath those clearer skies, well, it might
00:50well get down to eight or nine in some rural spots.
00:54It does mean though, across the south and the east of England, we would get away with a bright
00:57start to the day on Sunday.
00:59Quite a bit of sunshine first thing, so do make the most of that.
01:02Further north and west though, much cloudier conditions, outbreaks of rain spreading their
01:06way slowly and erratically south eastwards.
01:08Still a few heavier bursts here and there, but much of the rain petering out by the time
01:12it gets to the south.
01:13And out towards the north and the west of the UK, lots of brighter skies following,
01:17so some sunny periods and just one or two showers here and there.
01:20There may well just be one or two slightly heavier showers across northeastern parts of
01:24Scotland and maybe northeast England through the afternoon and there's a small chance of
01:28the odd rumble of thunder too.
01:30But in terms of our temperatures, actually around average for the time of year, feeling
01:34pretty humid in the south with highs of 23 or 24 in some places.
01:38And despite somewhat more in a way of a breeze across the north, with the sunshine it should
01:43feel pleasantly warm.
01:45Now as we go through Sunday, we are turning our attention out towards storm florists.
01:49Here it is in the mid-Atlantic and this is the jet stream, this fast-moving ribbon of
01:53air high up in the atmosphere and that's going to really help to fuel and develop storm florists
01:57as we go through Sunday night and into Monday.
02:00So a very deep, unusually deep air of low pressure expected for the time of year by Monday, so
02:05some unseasonally strong winds are expected.
02:08But back to Sunday evening though, there's still a few dribs and drabs of rain across
02:11the very far south to clear away, then a drier and clearer interlude for many.
02:15But here comes the rain associated with storm florists, so bringing a much wetter and windier
02:20end to the night across Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
02:24But storm florists will actually bring in some pretty mild air, so temperatures once again
02:27not falling below the teens Celsius out towards the west and only a little bit cooler elsewhere
02:32too.
02:34So for Monday then, we are going to see quite a bit of wet weather, but it's the winds that
02:37the main concern.
02:38So a warning already in place for strong winds across more Northern parts of the UK on Monday.
02:44We could potentially see gusts of wind up to 85 miles per hour in parts of Scotland and
02:48exposed areas, and that's going to lead to some power interruptions, some travel disruption,
02:53and we'll also see large waves and also some heavy rain, so especially across Northern Scotland,
02:58some flooding is potentially possible.
03:00So do keep an eye on the forecast and the warnings over the next few days.
03:05Here comes the rain as we go through the course of Monday, those bright colours indicating the
03:10intensity to the rain, particularly across Scotland and more Northern areas, but even
03:14in the south there will be some outbreaks of rain later in the day for many of us.
03:19Quite a mild if not fairly warm picture in the south though, highs of 23 to 25 in the
03:23south east of England.
03:24Feeling much more unpleasant though across the north.
03:26Despite temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees, those strong winds will make it feel quite cool.
03:32So do keep in touch with the warnings on our website and our app over the next few days.
03:36I am expecting some updates to those, and make sure you're following us on our social media
03:40channels so that you never miss any updates.
03:42I'll see you again very soon.
