Come "Ride the View" on the Skyride to the top of Paradise Point! You’ll be greeted with a breathtaking view, restaurants, a bar with our world famous drink, the Baileys® Bushwacker, local souvenir shops, and our brand new Skywalk!
00:00For this video, I'm going to take you for a tour of Paradise Point located in the US Virgin Islands.
00:30For this video, I'll see you next time.
01:00You know, I've been to hundreds, if not thousands, of attractions now.
01:08I don't think I've ever been to anything quite like Paradise Point.
01:12It's kind of like a hybrid attraction.
01:16You actually take this cable car up to the top of the mountain,
01:19and then there's like this little shopping center with a couple gift shops.
01:25There's a restaurant and bar and a little museum on the first floor.
01:29So it's similar, I guess, almost to an old theme park I used to go to in the Carolinas.
01:35There used to be this theme park called Ghost Town in the Sky, which was kind of similar,
01:38where you would ride a cable car up to the top of the mountain,
01:43and then there would be a theme park with, you know, a couple of flat rides and a roller coaster.
01:47That's the closest thing that I can think of to Paradise Point.
01:51Paradise Point has just amazing views.
01:54It's close to the cruise point in here in the Virgin Islands,
01:59and you actually can see all the cruise ships lined up from the cable car when you're riding up the mountain.
02:06I recently went on a Caribbean cruise, and I think Paradise Point was my favorite excursion
02:12out of all four islands that I stopped at.
02:15Some of the bus tours were just kind of boring and dull, but I really enjoyed this one,
02:20and like I said, I think it was the highlight of my trip.
02:23Now, one of the things that I found amazing about this particular attraction is
02:27the cable car is wild, the loading process, because they don't really seem to stop the cable cars from moving.
02:34So you kind of have to kind of jog onto the moving cable car,
02:39and if you're not able-bodied, that's going to be an issue,
02:42because they don't really seem to slow the line down.
02:46The cable cars are in constant movement.
02:48You know, if you've ever been to a Disney dark ride, Omni-mover ride,
02:51where the floor is moving with the cars, well, it's similar to that loading process,
02:57only the floor isn't moving with the cable cars.
02:59You just kind of hop on board while it's moving.
03:01Now, the ride itself to the top of the mountain, it takes about 10 minutes,
03:06and I shortened it for this video.
03:08If you want to watch the entire ride up, I have POVs of both up and down,
03:13so you can see those with the below links.
03:17You do get amazing views of the harbor, as well as the entire town of,
03:23I guess, the capital of Charmant-Amalay.
03:26According to the website, you can see Puerto Rico, as well as St. Croix,
03:30from the top of the mountain.
03:32I don't know how accurate that is.
03:33I couldn't see them, but I'm not sure it was a particularly clear day when I was there,
03:37although we had good weather.
03:39So the bar itself is very proud of their Bailey's Bushwhacker drink.
03:44I don't drink alcohol, so I didn't try it.
03:47According to the website, they served over a million guests this Bushwhacker drink
03:51from the top of Paradise Point,
03:52and considering how many tourists I saw completely loaded and barely standing up
03:57because they were so drunk, I believe it.
04:00That little flat platform that kind of juts out of the side of the mountain,
04:03that's the new skywalk they built.
04:06Not particularly impressive.
04:07I mean, most of the skywalks that I'm familiar with have, like, you know, glass floors
04:12where you can actually look down, but I guess, you know, they were bragging about it,
04:17and, you know, that's the newest feature of this particular property,
04:20so I figured I'd at least mention it.
04:21But it's nothing to call home about.
04:23So the cost of the round-trip ticket, up and down to Paradise Point,
04:29it's $29.95 for adults and $19.95 for kids.
04:33A lot of the cruise excursions do give you kind of a discounted price.
04:36I think we paid about $20 buying it through the Celebrity Cruises website.
04:41I don't know if it's worth full price if you're on vacation here in Charlotte al-Malay,
04:47but, yeah, considering the sweet discounts that, you know, cruise guests usually get on it,
04:53it seems like it's a pretty fun attraction.
04:55And, like I said, it was my favorite one of the Caribbean vacation I recently took.
05:00So my bottom line for this attraction is I'm not sure I would pay full price to go,
05:05but if you can get a discount on it, maybe through Groupon or a cruise excursion,
05:10then I would recommend this attraction.
05:12You can definitely get some amazing views from the top of the mountain,
05:16and if you're a photographer or videographer like me, it's definitely worth the price of admission.
05:21And, well, that wraps up all my thoughts on Paradise Point.
05:25For the rest of this video, I'm just going to play a little music to complete the walking tour.
05:29I'm just going to play a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get a little music to get
