00:00Last night at Slamboree, it was the Giant and Sting against Hall and Nash.
00:07As Big Sexy tries to put the Giant in the Jackknife Powerbomb,
00:12the Shocker, Scott Hall, turns on his longtime partner, Kevin Nash.
00:17And tonight on Nitro, Sting has a choice to make.
00:30And the drama that began last night in Worcester continues tonight here in Providence, Rhode Island.
00:52We are at a sellout, capacity crowd on hand at the Civic Center in downtown Providence
00:58for this one hour edition of WCW Monday Nitro prior to the NBA playoffs right here on TNT.
01:06And this crowd on hand, as shut as we are about the proceedings of last night,
01:13as literally the wrestling world turned on its ear.
01:18WCW Monday Nitro though is on the air, and amidst all this turmoil,
01:23all this drama in pro wrestling, we have great wrestling action
01:27here for you tonight on TNT.
01:31As Nitro, ladies and gentlemen, is off and running.
01:35It's great to have you with us, the greatest fans in the world,
01:38for professional wrestling's number one program.
01:43What is this?
01:46That's Eric Bischoff in the ring.
01:49I guess he's declared himself the king.
01:52Is that what he's done?
01:53Is that his crown?
01:57Well, fans, if you saw Slamboree last night, you know.
02:00Well, go ahead.
02:02It is so good to be king.
02:13And as I ponder my future in this sport I love, I have to look back at the past.
02:22In fact, as I look back at the past 100 weeks,
02:30I realize that right now my professional television record is 98 and 2.
02:46But that's not good enough, because now that my professional wrestling in-ring record
02:56is 2-0, I have to make a decision.
03:00Yes, I've defeated Larry Zbysko, and now I have defeated Vince McMahon.
03:07But it is a bittersweet victory, because while I wanted to do it in the ring,
03:24that just wasn't going to happen.
03:30I did what I could.
03:33I called the man out.
03:34I did what a man should do under the circumstances.
03:43Well, like I said, I did all I could do.
03:50And now, as I said, I have to look to the future.
03:54And what the future holds for Eric Bischoff is a record better than Bill Goldberg's.
04:01I am going to chase the dream.
04:07The dream that started for me last night.
04:11And I want to thank each and every one of you here tonight for
04:16being a part of one of the greatest nights in my life.

05:55We're gonna be talking a little bit later on about what happened, but tonight,
05:59we understand and we know that Sting, the Giant, are the World Tag Team Champions.
06:04And Sting, tonight on this program, must make his choice that the Giant put before him
06:10this past Thursday on Thunder.
06:12Whoa.
06:13And we'll be talking about that in a moment, but we have some footage that occurred
06:20on Thursday night on Thunder.
06:22Here's what happened.

06:36It's a basic sidekick.
06:39What's the difference between Glacier and Paris Saturn?

07:06Later on that same program last week, it was Saturn with his crown and kick, or his sidekick,
07:12and literally knocked the head off of Glacier.
07:15And so, Glacier's claimed that his crown and kick, his sidekick, is the only legitimate sidekick
07:20in the sport, has raised the ire of many wrestlers, including this man, Saturn.
07:24Well, you know, we don't often agree with the flock, Tony, but you have to admit,
07:28and I think Larry might agree with me here, Saturn made some awfully good points in that interview.
07:32Well, Saturn is a very serious individual.
07:35This guy may be in outer space, but on the mat, he is a ground zero.
07:41He knows how to hurt you, has a big background in tempo, very nasty style of fighting,
07:46combined it with a lot of submissive techniques.
07:49Saturn knows how to hurt you in there.
07:52He's gonna face psychosis in this one-on-one matchup here in this special one-hour edition of Nitro.
07:57And fans won't let you know, this coming Friday, May 22nd,

08:37wrestling Saturn in psychosis to go one-on-one.
08:40We got one of the top cruiserweights in psychosis.
08:43Saturn, of course, one of the, I don't know if you call them henchmen,
08:46but a member of Raven's flock.
08:48And what a wild night it was for Raven's flock in that match,
08:53that Bowery death match with Diamond Dallas Page.
08:57I guess Diamond Dallas Page says that his long time running rivalry with Raven is over.
09:02And how about that?
09:03The reappearance of Mortis last night at Slamboree.
09:07What an interesting contrast of styles here in our opening matchup on Nitro.
09:11The luchador, the high flyer psychosis against, as Larry mentioned,
09:14the well-rounded offense of Saturn.
09:17Yeah, and Saturn just got one.
09:18Psychosis using his movement, caught Saturn off balance.
09:23But sooner or later, gravity's gonna bring you down to the mat, and that's when Saturn
09:27walked into one.
09:30Back jump up against the turnbuckle now.
09:32Saturn goes to the fence up on the middle turnbuckle.
09:37Mike mentioned Mortis, and Mortis apparently has been this man.
09:40He took his mask off for the first time ever.
09:42Been this man coming out of the stands attacking Raven at various points,
09:46although that's all we know right now.
09:48We don't know the motive.
09:49I guess maybe he's upset about what Raven had told him a few months ago on Thunder.
09:54And he was lobbying at one point to be a member of
09:57the flock.
09:58Last time we saw him, he was even flowed by Raven.
10:01He got his revenge.
10:02There was payback last night at Slamboree.
10:05Speaking of Slamboree fans, you can see the on-court presentation
10:09as it airs on request and viewer's choice beginning tomorrow and through the week.
10:14So make sure you make the appropriate phone call if you missed.
10:17It was certainly a night of surprises and shockers.
10:21One of the biggest shockers had Dean Malenko returning
10:24and winning the Cruiserweight belt from Chris Jericho.
10:28He went through the Battle Royal and under the guise of being Cicope.
10:34And he shocked everyone taking the mask off and thus defeating Jericho later
10:38to become Cruiserweight champ.
10:39What a return.
10:40Saturn almost took the head off of Psychosis, but almost left a mask on it.
10:44Dragon suplex release.
10:46There's that standing sidekick.
10:48And I don't know if Psychosis is gonna get up or not from that,
10:51but Saturn's gonna help him up.
10:53Looks like it's Death Valley Driver time, guys.
10:57That's what it is.

11:01Only Saturn means business and the fans respond.
11:07And now, for the trifecta, he's gonna put on the rings of Saturn.

12:06In a few moments, we're gonna hear from Rowdy Roddy Piper.
12:08Before we go there, though, let's take a look at some of the scenes that went down
12:12last night at Slamboree as it pertains to Roddy Piper.
12:15The macho man Randy Savage had Bret Hart in his own hole.
12:19Then Miss Elizabeth comes in.
12:21They get into a shoving match.
12:22Randy Savage shoves Piper.
12:25And then out of the back, here comes Bret Hart with an object in his hand.
12:30He nails Piper.
12:32Hollywood Hogan comes out.
12:34He grabs Savage.
12:35And then Savage is put in the sharpshooter, and Bret Hart gets the win.
12:41But it was very obvious to me that Roddy Piper thought that Randy Savage was the one that hit
12:47him with an object behind the head.
12:49In reality, it was Bret Hart.
12:50Yeah, that's what Piper thought at the time again.
12:52No doubt that the Hollywood Hogan facts of the New World Order will do anything to stop Savage.
12:59And that's what they did last night.
13:00They stopped Savage, and you know, they worked on the knee.
13:03They continued to work on the knee.
13:04But the truth is that Savage had Bret Hart in the sharpshooter,
13:08and then Hollywood Hogan came and changed everything.
13:10Well, it was a night of shocking developments at Slamboree, but it was certainly no surprise
13:14that Bret Hart's new best friend, Hollywood Hogan, assisted him in the victory over Savage.
13:19Rowdy Roddy Piper promised us a fight, and that's what we got in the historic first meeting
13:24between the Hitman and the Macho Man.
13:26With that in mind, we take you to meet Gene Okerlund.

14:38We heard earlier, back in the locker room area, you've got a number of things on your mind.

17:44bald headed, legged, slimy climbing Hogan reptile,
17:50would come on down to the ring and scoop you by the legs.
17:53I didn't see it.
17:55I didn't know that it was Bret Hart that hit me in the back of the head.
18:01I didn't know that.
18:02I'm not gonna be the kind of referee to let it sit.
18:06So I'm telling you, as commissioner, I'm making a decision.
18:10I looked at it, and as a count of a disqualification,
18:15I am changing my decision.

21:30Well, Piper reverses the decision, give Savage the win last night, and then all parties involved say they want to get it on on the 14th at the Great American Bash.

21:41Bret Hart comes unglued, Piper's unglued, Savage is unglued, Hogan's unglued.
21:47They're having to hold everybody back.
21:48There's not enough glue to put them all back together.

21:58But last night, of all the shockers, of all the surprises, Dean Malenko dresses Cicope during the Battle Royal, wins the Battle Royal, and then goes on to defeat Chris Jericho.
22:07What a triumphant return for Dean Malenko last night.
22:10It was a night of validation and a night of vindication for not just Dean Malenko, but the entire Malenko legacy, as last night at Slamboree, he out-Jerichoed Chris Jericho to win the Cruiserweight title.
22:21And after he won the title, he talked to Gene Okerlund.
22:26Dean, oh, Dean Malenko, Dean Malenko, if I could prevail upon you, sir, I'd like just a moment of your time.
22:33The last time you and I spoke, I called you a bona fide loser.
22:36I can do that no longer.
22:38Tonight here at Slamboree, you have been crowned the WCW Cruiserweight Champion of the World.

26:29capturing the Cruiserweight title last night at Slamboree.
26:32And it really involves that man, Juventud Guerrera.
26:35Because at the conclusion of the Cruiserweight Battle Royal, Juventud Guerrera and,
26:39as it turned out, Dean Malenko were the last two men in the ring.
26:42Juventud jumped over the top rope and eliminated himself allowing Malenko to get that championship match.
26:48That's something I don't understand.
26:49Well, that's the conspiracy that Jericho's alluding to.
26:53And yes, they were in cahoots.
26:55And I tell you, the hatred for one Chris Jericho in this sport runs very, very deep among many men.
27:01And when you get those many athletes against you and you get those many enemies against you,
27:06bad things are going to happen to you.
