00:00:46But as you can see the Macho Man apparently, and I don't wanna speculate too much,

00:00:57This is the last thing in the world we expected, guys, to see him down like this.
00:01:01Tony, we also see a very concerned Miss Elizabeth looking on at this situation.

00:01:09We got paramedics that look concerned and that's a bad sign.

00:01:35but possibly we did get some footage rolling out back before this incident occurred,
00:01:39but we are up and live showing you the ambulance coming in.

00:02:25This is really unfortunate, regardless of if it's a member of the NWO or a member of WCW,
00:02:31any time something like this happens to a wrestler,
00:02:34and you have EMTs on the scene, it's very, very serious.
00:02:38And, of course, Randy Savage is set to challenge Sting
00:02:41for the World Heavyweight Championship upcoming at Spring Stampede on April the 19th, Tony.

00:03:57on the incident that just occurred.

00:04:03We are live for three hours. We're in South Florida, Miami, in the Miami Arena,
00:04:08where ever since this venue went on sale, it was sold out.
00:04:13In a mere hour sold out here at the Miami Arena,
00:04:16the hottest ticket in South Florida. No, it's not the Marlins, it's WCW.
00:04:21And here we go, and we're going to have quite a six-man open things up here.
00:04:25La Parca, Psychosis, El Dandy, against Magnubsua and Nobunaga from Japan like today.
00:04:31Interesting, Tony, six-man tag to open things up on Nitro.
00:04:35This is the Luchadors in their true element. Opposition this week provided by this trio,
00:04:40originally from Japan, now based in Mexico City.
00:04:43These are three students of the Ultimo Dragon as we see the Luchadors now triple teaming on Tokyo Magnum in the early going.
00:04:52So you can definitely say that Magnubsua and Nobunaga know these Luchadors quite well, Mike.
00:04:56Well, they wrestle in Mexico City as well as in World Championship Wrestling.
00:05:00We've told the story many times about Ultimo Dragon moving from Tokyo to Mexico City to become a professional wrestler.

00:05:50It really did, and with Dragon having a training school now in Mexico City,
00:05:54so many of these youngsters from Japan feel that it's their way to break into professional wrestling.
00:05:59They learn so many of the different styles.

00:06:26I can only tell you what I saw, that they tried to immobilize the head and the neck region,
00:06:31and they were putting in the ambulance.
00:06:33What happened, exactly how he was injured, is still very unclear.
00:06:37But we hope to during the course of this program.
00:06:40Maybe try to solve this mystery, find out exactly what happened, and give you an update on his injury.

00:06:50Certainly did, catching his own tag partner, La Parca.

00:11:16that happened right before we went on the air to the Macho Man Randy Savage.
00:11:20We can only speculate that this happened while he was making his way to the arena.

00:11:52These two men certainly very familiar with the world's television championship.
00:11:57Disco Inferno rather, former two-time world's TV champion and the current reigning champion, Booker T has had the belt on two occasions as well.
00:12:06Yes, the professor never misses a word, but it's a prestigious piece of gold that the Disco Inferno's getting a shot at and also held by a very great athlete, Booker T.
00:12:19Disco is gonna have to be more than focused for this one.
00:12:22Booker T, if you look at the wins, if you look at the titles, this young man has held over this short time.
00:12:32He has been in WCW.
00:12:34You'll know that he is World's 19th champion on seven occasions.
00:12:38He is now in his second reign as television champion.
00:12:42Not many people can say that.
00:12:45That is an amazing accomplishment.
00:12:47Nine World Championships held by this man in the few years that he's been here with World Championship Wrestling.
00:12:55A look at our fans here on the inside, downtown Miami and the Miami Arena, the home of the Miami Heat.
00:13:01And of course, the front of the Panthers at the NHL.
00:13:03But tonight, each and every seat here taken with fans for WCW Monday Nitro.
00:13:08And Disco Inferno, former television champ.
00:13:13Well, it's a jam-packed Miami Arena.
00:13:17And it certainly sounds like a jam-packed three hours of Nitro this evening on TNT.
00:13:22During the course of the commercial break, our ring announcer David Pinzer announced to the sold-out crowd here what had happened to Randy Savage.
00:13:29And they were in disbelief and shock as much as we were.
00:13:32We are, fans, we are keeping an ear and eye to the situation.
00:13:36We are going to check in with the EMTs as much as possible.
00:13:40We're gonna check now with our trainer, I understand, as much as possible.
00:13:44And try to get to the bottom of it.
00:13:45And hopefully, we are not so, I'm not so sure, we have not been told.
00:13:49But maybe we do have some footage about what exactly happened to Randy Savage right before we went on the air.
00:13:55Hopefully, we'll have that footage and be able to bring it to you a little bit later on.
00:13:58But as Booker T gets this one jump-started, the bell is sounding.

00:14:05And you talked about that concentration level of the Disco Inferno.

00:15:15And that match, of course, signed for Spring Stampede on April 19th.

00:15:23You know, I hate to see anybody get hurt, even if it is a NWO member,
00:15:28but Randy Savage, whether you wanna think this or not,
00:15:32had, or had, whatever, the power to crack the NWO.

00:16:09but it seems that it's not a little routine injury.
00:16:13It's pretty serious out there.
00:16:14Knowing the man Macho Man is, I mean, the people tell him to stay down, stay down.
00:16:18He wouldn't listen.
00:16:19He would get up if he could. I don't know if Disco's gonna get up.
00:16:22Well, it's just impossible at this point to really discuss the extent of those injuries.
00:16:26We're gonna have to get more information.
00:16:28And I understand we will, as time permits during the course of this program,
00:16:31as we can, and hopefully even footage that will reveal what happened.

00:21:42The last time we saw things, it appeared to me that Kevin Nash was kind of siding with the Macho Man Randy Savage.

00:21:52Just impossible at this point to draw any conclusions about what happened prior to the Nitro event going on the air as far as Randy Savage is concerned.

00:29:37There was some additional tape being shot, but we're not at liberty to air that just yet because there is a full ongoing investigation.
00:29:44We do not know the full extent of Savage's injuries at this point.
00:29:48I was concerned because he was there on the ground for so long, but I think the EMT personnel were just showing extra caution.

00:41:21That certainly was an emotional moment with Diamond Dallas Page, almost an outpouring, very emotional on the part of DDP, just exemplifying with that work ethic that he is not only the U.S. champion, but he's the people's champion as well.

00:41:40People respect people that earned what they have, that got there the hard way, that didn't grow up with a silver spoon and mouth.
00:41:49And Diamond Dallas Page is a perfect example of getting what you deserve when you earn it.
