00:00:04And when we come back, Bobby the Brain Heaney will join us and

00:00:07we'll have more great wrestling action as Spring Breakout 98 continues.

00:00:11And I'm going to the double bungee jump.

00:00:17Earlier in this telecast, we all had talked about the NWO coming back together.

00:00:21The Macho Man Randy Savage and Hollywood Hogan.

00:00:24As you see the Nitro girls here at Club LaVilla being unified once again.

00:00:28And then we found out that that was not the case at all.

00:00:31But they will be a team later on here tonight as they battle for supremacy.

00:00:36And Bobby the Brain Heaney has joined us.

00:00:39It's very apparent the Macho Man feels that he can become the world champ.

00:00:43That he can be the next world champ.

00:00:45That he can bring the gold belt back to the NWO.

00:00:47And if that is the case, he will be in charge.

00:00:50He will be on top of the picking order of the new world order.

00:00:53Well, I totally agree with him.

00:00:55I mean, anything that man has ever put his mind up to do, he's done.

00:00:58He's the most dangerous man in wrestling today.

00:01:00And don't be surprised, everybody, that the NWO isn't turned around to the MWO.

00:01:05Macho World Wrestling Organization.

00:01:08Obviously, Randy Savage feels that the world's heavyweight title equates itself

00:01:12with the number one position in professional wrestling.

00:01:15And that is certainly the case with Sting holding the title now.

00:01:18Savage is under the impression that if he gains that championship belt back from Sting,

00:01:22that puts him in the number one slot in running the New World Order.

00:01:27Obviously, last night at Uncensored, in Savage's words,

00:01:30he did not do that for Hollywood Hogan.

00:01:32Speaking of the attack on Sting, he did it rather for himself.

00:01:36Did it for himself.

00:01:37Did it for himself to be in charge of the NWO.

00:01:42Macho Man and Hollywood Hogan was co-existed as a tag team.

00:01:45And we talked about their bitter battles and their bitter feud and the hatred between the two.

00:01:49I can guarantee you, fans, after what the Macho Man said to Eric Bischoff moments ago on this program,

00:01:56and Hollywood Hogan heard what he said by watching his monitor,

00:01:59it's going to be even hotter between the two when they have to be a tag team later on against Luger and Sting.

00:02:05That's going to be exciting, worth the price of admission, so to speak, in itself, guys.

00:02:10But you know, Tony, to be a successful tag team, they don't have to get along with each other,

00:02:14but they've got to get along in that ring.

00:02:16And they can't co-exist on the streets, they can't co-exist anywhere in life.

00:02:20They're not going to co-exist in that ring. It just can't happen.

00:02:24That's going to be later on tonight. You heard me right.

00:02:27Sting, the world champion, Lex Luger, together against the Macho Man and Hollywood Hogan.

00:02:33Bitter rivals all around. Teams and team members as far as the New World Order is concerned.

00:02:40The Cat will face Yuji Nagata in this next matchup live from Club La Vila.

00:02:46In addition to that wild tag team main event later on tonight, we're going to have a couple of title matches.

00:02:53Booker T defends the TV belt, and Diamond Dallas Page defends the U.S. belt.

00:02:58Chris Jericho will defend the Cruiserweight title against former champ Juventud Carrera.

00:03:02That's all here tonight live on Nitro.

00:03:04It's just the shank of the evening.

00:03:05What a lineup. Three world's title matches in addition to the Hogan and Savage versus Sting and Luger tag team main event.

00:03:12Tag team war, Mike. Get it right. That's what it's going to be.

00:03:15That might be a war between Hogan and Savage.

00:03:17That's what it might be.

00:03:20The Cat.

00:03:21Now the Cat accomplished in so many different martial arts forms.

00:03:25We're seeing him relying a little bit more on his Muay Thai background,

00:03:29and that is primarily striking.

00:03:31You're going to see more knees, more shins, more elbows.

00:03:33He thinks it's going to help him be more successful in professional wrestling.

00:03:36Muay Thai.

00:03:37Full arm drag and twist.

00:03:40Sounds like number 48 on the menu.

00:03:42Down goes Yuji Nagata.

00:03:44Yuji well-schooled in various forms of the martial arts as well.

00:03:47And so is Sonny Ono on the outside.

00:03:50And there you see cross arm breaker applied.

00:03:52How about this?

00:03:53Leaning back, putting all the pressure on the elbow of Nagata.

00:03:57I guess he was close to the ropes there.

00:03:59Referee calls for the break.

00:04:00Fortunate for Yuji Nagata.

00:04:01Mark Curtis is the referee assigned here.

00:04:03And we've seen the Cat developed into a very polished, professional wrestler.

00:04:08Light on his feet.

00:04:09Well-conditioned athlete.

00:04:12A stiff hand underneath the chin that time.

00:04:16Almost I thought it got him in the windpipe.

00:04:18But no warning there from the referee at all.

00:04:20Yuji Nagata caught the leg.

00:04:22Tried the back kick from the back leg.

00:04:25Or the front kick from the back leg.

00:04:26He caught the leg.

00:04:27And there's shouting right over the top of the form of a suplex that time.

00:04:30And now Yuji Nagata getting the advantage here.

00:04:32Well, Nagata totally on the attack now against the Cat.

00:04:37Succession, a series of boots has the Cat rocking and reeling on the ropes.

00:04:42Guys, can you imagine what's going on right now in Camp NWO in the back?

00:04:47They came out.

00:04:48We all thought they were together once again.

00:04:50You know back there somewhere is the Macho Man.

00:04:53Back there somewhere is Hollywood Hogan.

00:04:55I bet you security in the back right now is at an all-time high.

00:04:59And what's Bischoff doing?

00:05:00Is he running back and forth?

00:05:01Is he trying to calm this one?

00:05:03Is he trying to appease this one?

00:05:05Of course he is.

00:05:05He's bribing this one.

00:05:06He's lying to this one.

00:05:07No, he's staying away from Savage for what he's doing.

00:05:09I can tell you that.

00:05:10And he's apologizing probably to Hogan for signing this matchup is what he's doing.

00:05:14He's sending word back and forth then.

00:05:16Yeah, he was apologizing to Savage earlier out here.

00:05:19And the last time we saw Bischoff, he was running off after Savage,

00:05:22screaming, Randy, Randy, I've got an idea.

00:05:24I think that Bischoff's going to try and get them together.

00:05:27He's going to try and get them to coexist.

00:05:28They have to tonight against Sting and Luger.

00:05:30Well, you know the history of Eric Bischoff.

00:05:32He's quite a businessman.

00:05:34He's quite an arbitrator, a negotiator.

00:05:36Anybody can put those two together.

00:05:37He's a shyster.

00:05:38What do you mean he's quite an arbitrator?

00:05:40Well, shyster's a slang for arbitrator.

00:05:43Oh, I understand.

00:05:44Now, as Eugene Nagata goes to the throat of the cat,

00:05:47putting the head to the bottom rope, back of the head.

00:05:50I can tell you right now, we thought and we said,

00:05:53going into Uncentered last night.

00:05:55The NWO was coming apart at the seams that the NWO had problems.

00:05:59When we took the air here tonight, a couple of hours ago,

00:06:02we thought, well, we're wrong.

00:06:03They're back together.

00:06:04Well, no, we're right.

00:06:06Because the biggest struggle in any organization is the power struggle.

00:06:10And that's the biggest one yet between Savage and Hogan.

00:06:13And how about that kick by the cat?

00:06:15You talk about a power struggle and it's taking place in the NWO right at the top.

00:06:19No place else.

00:06:20It's right at the top of the two top men there as Hogan and Savage.

00:06:24And how about Savage saying that he can't wait to win the world's title

00:06:27because that's going to put Hollywood Hogan back at the bottom of the pecking order.

00:06:30And he also realized that he's going to become a major, major star in Hollywood.

00:06:36Yes, he is.

00:06:38And now, you know, he's become a very,

00:06:41a very popular, well-founded media star anyway.

00:06:45Just another thing that gets under the skin of Hollywood himself.

00:06:49Up on top of the cat, walking, turning.

00:06:52Spinning roundhouse kick off the top.

00:06:54He covered him, got Yuji Nagata down and beats Yuji Nagata.

00:06:58The cat, that spinning roundhouse kick is so light on his feet.

00:07:03Great balance and the cat wins once again.

00:07:06Watch out.

00:07:07Sonny's not going to be happy.

00:07:09And we really don't care.

00:07:12And Yuji Nagata still down.

00:07:14The cat put him right out with that round kick from the top rope.

00:07:19He's got the right name, cat. Look at this, Mike.

00:07:21Cat quick agility from the cat.

00:07:23We see him turn in mid-air there.

00:07:25The spinning roundhouse kick that he calls the feline-er on his way to the win.

00:07:30The winner is the cat, defeating Yuji Nagata with the feline-er here on WCW Monday Nitro.

00:07:37Well, fans tonight, Hollywood Hogan and the macho man Randy Savage.

00:07:42The struggle to rule the NWO continues, but never more evident, never more focused than tonight,

00:07:49when they must be a tag team against Luger and World Champion Sting.

00:08:41Challenges fraternities from all across the country enjoying their Nitro parties wherever you are right now.

00:08:47Of course, many of the colleges on Spring Break and many colleges here during the course of the break.

00:08:52David Pinch are ringing out for acknowledging schools.

00:08:55Florida State University has a lot of fans here, a lot of students here.

00:08:59We also have students from Duke.

00:09:01There you see from Iowa, North Carolina, also from University of Pittsburgh,

00:09:07from students from Canada, from University of Alabama are here.

00:09:12Oh, I ran into a bunch of sorority girls today from Phi Beta Phi.

00:09:16They were just dancing up there in the lobby.

00:09:18It's crazy.

00:09:19What are you going to college?

00:09:20The University of Alabama, it was quite exciting in the lobby.

00:09:23I mean, people are all over the place.

00:09:25And Duke as well.

00:09:26And of course, there were some, also some students here from my alma mater at James Madison University

00:09:32in Virginia.

00:09:33Good to see them here as well.

00:09:35Don't they make donuts?

00:09:36No, they don't.

00:09:37That's Dolly.

00:09:38And Scott Steiner makes his way in on the NWO.

00:09:42You know, you look up and down, Scott Steiner, the trademark biceps are the same, but that's

00:09:45about it.

00:09:46I can't believe it.

00:09:47I mean, you have to, when I see him walk into the arena or here at Club La Villa, you just

00:09:52got to stare at him because you still do, you do a double take.

00:09:55And you know, another thing, Ray Traylor was very close with the Steiners at one time.

00:10:00Oh, tag team partners.

00:10:02And let's think about this.

00:10:03Ray Traylor was a member of the New World Order.

00:10:05Ray Traylor came back to WCW only because that James J. Dillon said a clause in the contract

00:10:13prevented him from going to the NWO.

00:10:16And Ray Traylor, when he came back to WCW, had no friends.

00:10:20It was Scott Steiner along with Rick Steiner that took Ray Traylor in.

00:10:25The only two men that would do that along with Ted DiBiase.

00:10:28And then for Ray Traylor to have Scott Steiner make that turn that he did to the NWO.

00:10:33That really got Ray right in the gut, guys.

00:10:35And it's payback time this evening on Nitro for Ray Traylor against his former

00:10:40Trios tag team partner in six-man competition in Scott Steiner.

00:10:44See, that's the trouble in a lot of these yo-yos.

00:10:47They worry about emotion and friendship.

00:10:49So you never know when something like this is going to happen.

00:10:51Never make friends with anybody.

00:10:53Keep it business.

00:10:53Do your own thing.

00:10:57Speaking of emotion and friendship, how about what exists

00:11:00or doesn't exist between Hollywood Hogan and the Macho Man Randy Savage?

00:11:04Can you believe?

00:11:05I mean, when Eric Bischoff came out here at the beginning of the program

00:11:08and signed that tag team match, he firmly in his heart thought that they were back together again.

00:11:12That is anything but the case, Mike.

00:11:14They are further apart than ever before, but they will be a tag team tonight.

00:11:18Well, that surely is an emotional situation between Hogan and Savage.

00:11:21Eric Bischoff put both men's names, signed them both to the contract,

00:11:26obviously without consulting Randy Savage.

00:11:28Randy Savage. He thought that he was going to be able to bring them together.

00:11:31Bond.

00:11:31Not certainly the case in the mind of Randy Savage from what we heard earlier.

00:11:35Randy Savage not only is a madman, a wild man, he is a man who is out to prove a point.

00:11:40And that point is that he wants to rule the New World Order.

00:11:49He thinks the way to rule the New World Order, and he's probably right,

00:11:53is to bring the World Championship back around his waist.

00:11:56And let's say if Savage becomes World Champion down the road.

00:11:59Look what that does to World Championship Wrestling.

00:12:02I know that, but what does it do to the pecking of the NWO?

00:12:05Well, with Savage being World's Heavyweight Champion,

00:12:07he's the number one man in professional wrestling.

00:12:09And you'd have to think that some of the members of the NWO might join with the Macho Man.

00:12:16Well, you have to look at a lot of different ways.

00:12:18There's a lot of different ways you can go in this.

00:12:19Sting, the fabulous athlete the man is.

00:12:22I still think Savage is geared to do two things.

00:12:27One, to become champion of the world, and two, to stick it right to Hogan.

00:12:30I think Savage has more going for him right now than anybody in this sport today.

00:12:35Yeah, but let's not discount the man who is the World Heavyweight Champion.

00:12:38That's right. That is Sting.

00:12:40It's not Savage.

00:12:41Although Sting realizes that you really can't side with a member of the NWO at all.

00:12:48And Savage probably wants to get under Hogan's skin,

00:12:51maybe even more than the World's Heavyweight title.

00:12:53But he knows that by winning that World's Heavyweight Championship,

00:12:56almost a means to an end, that that just really raises his profile in the NWO.

00:13:01Ray Traylor biting his way out of that massive bear hug from the big arms of Scott Steiner.

00:13:06Traylor over the top.

00:13:07Steiner, oh boy, almost knocked him out with that one.

00:13:10Crossed the eyes of Big Ray Traylor with a forearm shot right between the eyes.

00:13:15Here comes Scotty Steiner, and he kicks him out of the ring.

00:13:17Traylor all the way down to the floor.

00:13:23All the way down to the mats around the apron of the ring here at Club La Vila.

00:13:28We are told we must take another commercial break.

00:13:31As always, the tape machines are rolling.

00:13:37The head hit the steel steps very hard.

00:14:07And Ray Traylor has just turned the tide.

00:14:11I think he'd rather have him pounding on his forehead.

00:14:16I would agree with that brain.

00:14:18To the ring post they go, and now on the outside, Scott Steiner.

00:14:22Oh, my goodness, Scott Steiner.

00:14:23Another drink.

00:14:25Scott Steiner is in the pool.

00:14:27We have a winner.

00:14:28Get that man the QP down.

00:14:32I tell you, Scott Steiner slowly pulling himself out as he landed in the pool.

00:14:39But to be very honest with you, that may not be a bad place to land.

00:14:43I'd rather land in the water than maybe crack my head against the side of the pool

00:14:47or something like that, guys.

00:14:49Yeah, but now look at him sliding around out there.

00:14:52It's going to be tough for him to maintain any kind of traction.

00:14:54It sure is.

00:14:55It'll be tough for Ray Traylor to hold on to him as well.

00:14:58He pulls Scott Steiner to the ring post in the near side.

00:15:04Well, the tradition continues here on Nitro and Club La Vila during spring breakout.

00:15:09It was Scott Steiner who gets wet in the pool, and Ray Traylor.

00:15:17Well, you can see the water off the head of Scott Steiner.

00:15:50We very rarely see it, but he's on target.

00:15:53Ray Traylor can win the match.

00:15:54Got him, two, and no, didn't get him.

00:16:06Down goes Scott Steiner.

00:16:08Every time Steiner goes down, he leaves a wet spot.

00:16:11He's taking on more water than the Titanic.

00:16:17We have Buck Bagwell, who's arrived.

00:16:19Oh, he pulls the foot of Ray Traylor, knocking him off balance, straddling the ropes.

00:16:24Scott Steiner back to his feet.

00:16:26Buff Bagwell, here's this NWO mentality.

00:16:29Help out your fellow man.

00:16:31Help out your partner.

00:16:33I guess it applies to everyone except Hogan and Savage.

00:16:35And off the top of the Frankensteiner.

00:16:42And that means the Steiner Recliner, the submission hold, the inversion of the Camel Crunch.

00:16:49And what is Bagwell doing in the ring?

00:16:52He's got the belt.

00:16:55And Traylor says, yes, that's all.

00:16:56Finally, he just couldn't take it any longer.

00:16:58With the Bagwell strapping Ray Traylor.

00:17:06Threatens referee Mickie J.

00:17:10There may be a power struggle at the top of the NWO, but within many of its members,

00:17:16they are still looking out for each other.

00:17:18There's evidence right there, guys.

00:17:20It is now measuring the bicep.

00:17:2227 inches.

00:17:23Yes.

00:17:24That's a pretty fair arm, wouldn't you say, if you believe what they say.

00:17:38Sends Scott Steiner first into the guardrail.

00:17:41And then clotheslines him up and over the guardrail.

00:17:44And right into the pool here at Club La Vila.

00:17:47Well, that really got under the skin of Scott Steiner.

00:17:50NWO mate Buff Bagwell out to help.

00:17:53There you see the Frankensteiner off the top rope.

00:17:57And Scott Steiner at that point, that set up his finishing move.

00:18:01The Steiner recliner, yanking back on the neck.

00:18:04The wind almost looked like a choke hold at that point.

00:18:07Looks like he's choking him out.

00:18:08Scott Steiner, impressive win over Ray Traylor on Nitro.

00:18:13The action continues leading up to our third hour main event.

00:18:15You heard us right if you joined us.

00:18:17Hollywood Hogan will team with the macho man Randy Savage.

00:18:22As they will go up against world champion Sting and the total package Lex Luger live here tonight.

00:18:28Also, three title matches still to come.

00:18:31But before we go any further, earlier in the night, the NWO, they came out with Hollywood Hogan,

00:18:37talking about how Kevin Nash proved to the world that he was the real giant in our sport.

00:18:42Let's go back to Uncensored just last night to show you portions of what really happened.

00:18:46If we can roll the tape right now, we'll show the fans what went down.

00:18:49The giant was in the midst of a chokeslam, but he changed directions on us.

00:18:54He decided to put Kevin Nash in a jackknife powerbomb that was legal.

00:18:59But then in came Bryan Adams with a baseball bat.

00:19:02The entire NWO comes in to try to take the giant down.

00:19:06And with the baseball bat, with the entire NWO, they were very successful.

00:19:11Though he mounted a comeback with various chokeslams.

00:19:14But then Kevin Nash broke the baseball bat, another ball bat over the shoulder of the giant.

00:19:20If that's the way that he proves that he is the real giant, we saw at the very end,

00:19:25the giant in the ring himself standing in the ring.

00:19:29The battle, the bitter battle continues between these two men, Mike Tenet.

00:19:32Just another case of revisionist history on the part of the New World Order claiming that

00:19:36Kevin Nash is the true giant.

00:19:38Kevin Nash found out firsthand last night at Uncensored that the giant was certainly not

00:19:42a one-dimensional athlete.

00:19:45Also, as we talked about Hollywood Hogan and the Macho Man Randy Savage together tonight,

00:19:50we also thought, we heard also from the NWO during the same interview tonight,

00:19:54that Hollywood Hogan and the Macho Man were together once again.

00:19:57But that's not the case.

00:19:59The Macho Man came out here, said that eventually he would become world champ,

00:20:03and he would take over the NWO from Hollywood Hogan.

00:20:06When you have a battle, a power struggle with two massive egos,

00:20:10that is the most bitter battle that is not yet over between these two men.

00:20:13Well, we can weigh the decisions right and left all night and all day long.

00:20:17What's going to happen is we're going to have to get in that ring,

00:20:19and we're going to have to see how good a man Eric Bischoff is,

00:20:22how good an arbitrator that man is.

00:20:24Can he have Macho Man? Can he have Hollywood Hogan work together as a team,

00:20:28work together for the benefit of the NWO?

00:20:30I don't think anybody can do this.

00:20:32They've never liked each other, and they never will.

00:20:34But they will be a tag team tonight. Make no mistake about that.

00:20:37Hollywood Hogan and the Macho Man Randy Savage against world champion,

00:20:41let us say it again, world champion Sting and the total package Lex Luger.

00:20:46Why not the Nitro girls? We always enjoy that. Why not?

00:20:49They're in the center of the ring giving us a chance to talk about a big day

00:20:53coming up this Friday for our fans in Mankato, Minnesota.

00:20:57Tickets will go on sale for a big event at the Mankato Civic Center on Tuesday, April 14th.

00:21:11Also on sale this weekend, this coming Saturday, March 21st, WCW Wrestling returning to Duluth

00:21:18and the deck. Tickets go on sale this coming Saturday for the event in Duluth, Minnesota.

00:21:23You can meet the Disco Inferno at the box office there from 10 a.m. to 12 noon this Saturday, March 21st.

00:21:30Well, fans, this is going to be one of the biggest third hours we've ever had of Nitro.

00:21:34Three title matches still to come, plus Hollywood Hogan and the Macho Man Randy Savage existing,

00:21:42if they can, as a tag team against world champion Sting and the total package Lex Luger.

00:21:48And I'm here to tell you, this is my opinion only. No, they can't.

00:21:52They cannot exist as tag team tonight.

00:21:55And we'll find out.
