00:01:01of World Championship Wrestling as we bring you America's number one program.
00:01:07Welcome to WCW Monday Nitro.
00:01:10It is our second year for Spring Breakout.
00:01:13And as you can see, they are literally jammed 10 deep all around the ring.
00:01:18College students from all over this country, from Canada, have come to Club La Vila,
00:01:23the Panama City Beach to begin Spring Break 1998.
00:01:27With that in mind, we bring you Spring Breakout.
00:01:31And what a telecast we plan to have for you tonight, everyone.
00:01:36Tony Schiavone, Iron Mike today, the living legend Larry Zabisco.
00:01:41Last night, Uncensored aired from Mobile, Alabama, about three hours west of here.
00:01:46And just when we thought, just when we thought the NWO was falling apart at the seams, what
00:01:53happens last night in the cage?
00:01:54We're going to show you exactly what happened last night in the cage, Mike Denae, as we take
00:01:59a look at some of the footage that went down last night from Uncensored.
00:02:03Here's what happened. Hollywood Hogan and the Macho Man, it was a brutal matchup.
00:02:08Well, Uncensored is an event known for its unpredictability. Last night certainly did
00:02:13not disappoint. The cage match between Hollywood Hogan and the Macho Man Randy Savage.
00:02:18And Tony, just when we think that we have all the NWO answers, the New World Order certainly
00:02:24changes the question. There you see interference from that newest addition to the NWO. Sting in
00:02:29to make the save for the Macho Man Randy Savage. And that Sting was standing side by side with
00:02:35the Macho Man Randy Savage. He gets leveled by the Macho Man Larry Zabisco.
00:02:39You know, I hate to say this, but I told you so. You cannot trust anybody. Again,
00:02:46what a perfect example of the mental instability of Savage.
00:02:51Savage telling Hollywood Hogan, NWO for life. And Sting, over the past few weeks, past month
00:02:58and a half, we have seen Sting come to the aid of the Macho Man Randy Savage in the cage last
00:03:04night. He came down, as you saw, once again. And then we saw what happened to the World Heavyweight
00:03:09Champion. It kept off a wild night in Uncensored. Certainly did. And just at the point that we
00:03:14thought that Sting and the Macho Man Randy Savage had formed a bond, now it certainly looks otherwise.
00:03:19And just when you think you have the NWO at bay, just when you think they are falling apart at the seams,
00:03:25the NWO comes together again now. Apparently stronger than ever, Larry.
00:03:28Stronger than ever, but still, Randy Macho Man Savage. What's going through his mind?
00:03:34Is he going to be good for the new world order?
00:03:37That is the question we'll have to answer as we hear Hollywood Hogan's music crank up,
00:03:43and as you look live here at Panama City Beach, Florida. Well, let me also say that last night,
00:03:48Sting held on to the WCW World Heavyweight title. Diamond Dallas Page retained the US Heavyweight
00:03:55Championship. Chris Jericho is still the Cruiserweight champ, and Booker T is still the
00:04:01television champion. And that all occurred last night, and of course, you can see it all
00:04:06when we bring you the encore presentation of Uncensored that we'll talk about during the course of this
00:04:12telecast. Well, look at this. But now you're talking about looking at them all. It looks like
00:04:16they're all coming out together. And it doesn't look like we're going to have to wait very long
00:04:21until we have the NWO shed light on this current situation involving Batman, Hollywood Hogan,
00:04:27and the Macho Man Randy Savage. Hollywood Hogan. Now, wait a minute. I warned you before.
00:04:32Now, you don't think Hollywood Hogan will come out here and stoop to telling a bit, do you?
00:04:37What do you mean, stooped? That's what they're all about? I wouldn't believe a word he has to say.
00:04:48Hollywood Hogan, Eric Bischoff, hello there, and all the fans here in attendance.
00:04:54Got to keep our attention here in the ring. What do you mean, we?
00:04:57Well, I do then. How does that sound? Ravishing Rick Rude, Kevin Nash.
00:05:02There ain't no rules. And Hollywood Hogan ruling the ring to begin things on Nitro. It was,
00:05:08I tell you, fans, last night, Uncensored. We often said, leading into it, rules are for fools,
00:05:14and you could literally throw the rule book out the window last night and what we saw.
00:05:19Tony, how many times during the broadcast last evening did we say to each other,
00:05:22that's the first time we've ever seen that? And there were a lot of firsts in terms of
00:05:27professional wrestling last night at Uncensored. There they are all together. Dusty Rhodes out with
00:05:35them as well. Bryan Adams. Hey, hey, hey. The gang's all here.
00:05:43And just when everybody thought the NWO was gonna fall apart, that there would be a split
00:06:01in the NWO. Imagine that. Hollywood, as usual, saved the day for all of us.
00:06:13Family, family, family, family. As you can see, I've got my whole family with me.
00:06:23And you know, it's nice to have the real giant in the family.
00:06:32Kevin Nash is undisputed, the big man, the real giant in professional wrestling.
00:06:39And yeah, the NWO, our boss, Mr. Bishop in Hollywood, we've been behind him all the way,
00:06:45especially myself. If it was an arm wrestling match, he could have flashed a giant.
00:06:52But the giant stooped to the lowest measures of cheating, of taking shortcuts. And yes, brothers,
00:07:01Kevin Nash, the better man, beat the giant right in the center of the ring. And I stood behind him,
00:07:09all the way. To Mr. Nash, Allah, we bow to you.
00:07:14Bow to the big man, everybody, bow to the big man.
00:07:18I don't remember it happening that way to you guys. I mean, well, just like you said, Larry, lying.
00:07:22Now, macho man, you know something, brother? I love you as much or more than anybody I've ever
00:07:34loved in my life. Somebody like you to step over the line, to take it so far, to test Hollywood,
00:07:43really, really, really put me to the test, might I say? And in the steel cage, after I beat you
00:07:54within an inch of your life, by God, I mean, by Hollywood, I'm so glad you're back in the fold.
00:08:02And even because you're so stubborn, that's one of the qualities we love most about you,
00:08:10that finally, after I beat you within an inch of your life, you're back in the fold. You're back in
00:08:17the NWO. And macho man, when you're with the NWO in Hollywood, everybody knows it's for life.
00:08:28But you know something, macho? Now that we're all together as one, we've got a special supplies for
00:08:35you, brother. Mr. Bischoff already signed the match with Macho Man and Hollywood Hulk Hogan tonight
00:08:45against Sting and Lex Luger, brother. How about that? This is your chance to put the icing on the cake,
00:08:56to put double insurance down, to prove to the whole NWO that you can carry your load.
00:09:02I know that you can, but you're gonna have to prove it just one more time, so you can look at
00:09:08yourself in the mirror, because we love you, you're back, and I can't wait to tear Sting and Luger apart,
00:09:16because when you're with the NWO, and you're with the whole brotherhood, you know you're just too
00:09:23one more detail. Stinger, I know you're feeling a little bad tonight, thanks to the Macho Man,
00:09:35but something else, there's no rafters for you to hide in. I don't think you can hold your breath
00:09:40long enough to hide in the ring. So guess what? Level playing field tonight, scary man.
00:09:46Hey, Stinger won't be here. Macho told me on the QT that he beat him up just for you, brother.

00:11:38is back in the fold. But he also said that this tag team matchup tonight was a special surprise to

00:12:17when we arrived here earlier in the day, as we came across the state of Florida, the Panhandle here,
00:12:24down through the Emerald Coast from South Alabama, we noticed that it was literally jammed with college
00:12:30students everywhere. And would someone take a good look at Lothi? This guy loves signs, doesn't he?
00:12:38Now who's he giving free plugs to? We have a good time on the Monday Night Nitro all night long.
00:12:44He's giving free plugs to the goofs all around the world because he's one of them.
00:12:52And look at them all in there together.
00:12:56Guy's got a growth on his back.
00:12:58Well, that was the enforcer. Saturn looked like he remained removed from the balance of the flock.
00:13:04He stayed, I guess, is that the flock's own private box here?
00:13:10Lothi, by the way, is going to wrestle, we understand here.
00:13:16And the man who's going to have to wrestle has the ability to take out the entire flack here if need be.
00:13:22Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg!
00:13:25See, Lothi holding up that sign, Goldberg's a feather?
00:13:29No, I don't think that's what it said.

00:13:41Well, I think Lothi will find out different. Bill Goldberg, one of the most impressive men I've ever seen.
00:13:46The incredible atmosphere here at Club La Vila just became electric with the announcement of the
00:13:53undefeated Goldberg on his way to the ring.
00:13:57Goldberg comes in, literally stomps his way to the ring, and as you heard, ladies and gentlemen,
00:14:04right before the break, it will be world champion Sting and Lex Luger together against the reunited duo
00:14:13of the new world order of Hollywood Hogan and the macho man Randy Savage.
00:14:17Later on, during our three-hour edition here tonight, from there, it said meathead.
00:14:22You see, that did not say feather. I knew it.
00:14:23Well, the card was bent when I was reading it.
00:14:26Well, he doesn't want to do that. What's he thinking of here?
00:14:29Of all people, why would you? Well, Lothi is going to pay for that immediately.
00:14:36And Goldberg just picked up Lothi like he was a fan.
00:14:41Just dropped him out of that big press slam.
00:14:45Goldberg immediately after the big press slam drives a few shoulders in.
00:14:50And runs right over Lothi.
00:14:54The spear, and that one caught him up in the chest, up near the sternum.
00:14:58Goldberg.
00:15:01Has him hooked.
00:15:02Doesn't look like we're gonna have to wait long for the jackhammer.
00:15:08Count him out.
00:15:09Count everybody out.
00:15:14Now, tell me, pray tell, where's the flock coming into outbound loading?
00:15:19Maybe the flock isn't quite as dumb as you think they are.
00:15:23Well, here they come.
00:15:24Maybe they are.

00:15:26It was Riggs, and now it's Kidman.
00:15:29Kidman caught on that cross-body block off the top rope.
00:15:32Look at this.
00:15:33Kidman up in the air.
00:15:34Sick Boy was gonna go up.
00:15:36He did.
00:15:36Oh, goodness.
00:15:40Now Sick Boy's gonna try to take the opportunity to take Goldberg out.
00:15:44What in the world are they thinking of?
00:15:46You can't hurt this man at all.
00:15:48Just let Goldberg go home.
00:15:50Oh, they're thinking that there's strength in numbers,
00:15:53but they're finding out that that's not gonna stop Goldberg.
00:15:58They continue to surround Goldberg.
00:16:00There you see Saturn.
00:16:03And he's almost daring Saturn to get in.
00:16:06Let's take a look one more time, Larry.
00:16:07All right, they just picked Lodi up like a feather.
00:16:10Dropped him, knocked the wind out of him, and watch this.
00:16:13His patented move.
00:16:14He just explodes into you.
00:16:16Spears him right down.
00:16:18Lodi down for the counten.
00:16:20Goldberg's still not done with him.
00:16:23Picks him up, Willie.
00:16:24Gets that oxygen and snaps him over.
00:16:27Pounds him down.
00:16:28Picks up the leg.
00:16:29And what will they ever learn or just fly south for the winter?
00:16:33They may be put in permanent hibernation by one man, Goldberg.
00:16:37Goldberg is awesome.
00:16:39The undaunted wind streak continues here on WCW Monday Nitro.

00:18:45party of all obviously celebrated last night by the NWO with the resurgence of togetherness
00:18:51for Macho Man Randy Savage and Hollywood Hogan.
00:18:54And they will be a team tonight against Sting and Lex Luger.
00:18:59Well, the NWO has certainly been re-fortifying the troops over the course of the past month
00:19:04or so. Now it looks like they are reunited as one.
00:19:08And that's Fit Finley?
00:19:12Fit Finley, I've got a haircut.
00:19:13But there were some other parties going on last night.
00:19:16We still have the Heavyweight Championship of the World in WCW.
00:19:21It was bottles of champagne popping.
00:19:23And what about what we heard from the New World Order concerning
00:19:28Kevin Nash and the Giant?
00:19:30How about that? Hopefully, later on in this telecast, we can show you
00:19:34some of the sights that went down last night at Uncensored.
00:19:36And you can be your own judge of what happened last night.
00:19:41Well, Fit Finley we talked about with a different look
00:19:43from Ireland making his way in.
00:19:45And he'll face one of the true greats,
00:19:48the Ultimo Dragon, as we take some good shots of the crowd on hand.
00:19:52I mean, we got here very early today, Mike, you and me and the broadcast team.
00:19:57And we saw the line that was ringing around this club, La Vila, to get in.
00:20:02And they are standing here.
00:20:03And they're going to be standing here for the better of three hours
00:20:06for the greatest wrestling action in the world.
00:20:08I would have been here earlier, but my hotel room's in the middle of 36 holes.
00:20:13Just another great example, Tony, of how popular Nitro has become coast to coast.
00:20:20Fit Finley and Ultimo Dragon in this next matchup.
00:20:22It's going to be a good matchup in terms of contradictory styles.
00:20:26Finley, I mean, he can wrestle, but he likes to brawl.
00:20:28Of course, the Ultimo Dragon, high-flying techniques, a lot of movement in his wrestling style.
00:20:34Finley's going to try to ground him right off the bat.
00:20:36And factor in those lethal kicks from the Dragon.
00:20:39This should be a very physical matchup.
00:20:41We know that Dragon has his sights set on another shot at the World's Cruiserweight Championship,
00:20:45a title belt that he has already held.
00:20:47To do that, he must go through Chris Jericho, who is still the Cruiserweight champ.
00:20:51And not only that, to be able to be successful, he is going to try to have to really dig down
00:20:57deep to try to stay in there with a bruiser like Fit Finley.
00:21:01Reversal, Finley sent in hard.
00:21:03Here comes the Dragon.
00:21:04Finley up on top.
00:21:05Look at that by Dragon.
00:21:07Great agility, great balance.
00:21:10Nicely done.
00:21:11Stepping aside from the kick from Finley.
00:21:13The back leg sweep.
00:21:14And there's those stiff, lethal kicks.
00:21:16That was nice movement there.
00:21:17Flowing movement by the Dragon.
00:21:19Some great combinations.
00:21:21Doesn't stop with one move.
00:21:22And it all began with a balance up on top of the turnbuckle.
00:21:26A lot of times wrestlers will tell you that they're thrown off a kilter because they're
00:21:30not so sure how close they are to the Dragon.
00:21:33They think they're far enough away, but he can spring off with almost like a missile dropkick
00:21:37out of that balance.
00:21:38And that began some offense from the Ultimo Dragon.
00:21:42A good look at him right there.
00:21:43But Fit Finley, he can take some punishment, Larry.
00:21:45Yeah, no, he loves to fight.
00:21:46We've seen this guy in some real tough physical battles.
00:21:50Finley will not give up.
00:21:52And the Dragon may pull a couple of cute moves, but that's not going to be enough to finish
00:21:56off Finley.
00:21:59The nerve hold right on the trapezius.
00:22:01And now digging to the eyes, the dogs.
00:22:03And now with just an elbow smash right across the bridge of the nose of Dragon.
00:22:06But Dragon battles back from that.
00:22:09Toe to toe they go.
00:22:10But how about that?
00:22:11Right to the eyes.
00:22:12And that stuns the Dragon momentarily.
00:22:14Yeah, well, Finley's going to do whatever he has to to keep the Dragon from flying.
00:22:18He's going to try to stop his movement.
00:22:19Fire!
00:22:20That's one way.
00:22:22Personally, I'd go for the knee.
00:22:25He went for the hand.
00:22:27Did Finley.
00:22:28Now he has lateral press.
00:22:29It only gets a two count that time.
00:22:32And barely even a two count before Dragon kicks out, showing that great resiliency.
00:22:36And again, Finley back with the shortcut, this time stomping again on the fingers.
00:22:40That's been one of the keys to Fit Finley.
00:22:42He's been able to overpower his opponents, to more his opponents so quickly.
00:22:46He's been able to get a lot of quick wins.
00:22:48Right now against the Dragon, I don't know if he's getting frustrated or not,
00:22:51but he's hitting the Dragon with literally everything now.
00:22:54He's taking his time.
00:22:55He's not rushing.
00:22:56I mean, watch Finley's movement.
00:22:57Dragged him out.
00:22:58Gave him a couple of shots.
00:22:59Came back in.
00:23:00Could go in a little quicker on the man.
00:23:02But again, he's not rushing into the Dragon.
00:23:04Whoa, what an answer for that European uppercut.
00:23:06But then again, Finley pokes him in the eyes.
00:23:09Not above taking a low road as Fit Finley, and he stalks the man into the corner.
00:23:18The whip into the ropes, and a pick up.
00:23:20That funny drop.
00:23:21He landed on his feet.
00:23:22The Dragon quickly with a drop kick.
00:23:24But Finley stays on his feet.
00:23:27To the far side.
00:23:29Finley one step ahead.
00:23:32And the Dragon right to the midsection with a standing sidekick.
00:23:35Here he comes.
00:23:37There he goes.
00:23:39On top, Finley.
00:23:40Tell you what, Finley's very quick.
00:23:42You can see that, guys.
00:23:42Yeah, he saw him go.
00:23:43Finley's very ring-wise.
00:23:45I mean, he knows what the Dragon's trying to set him up for.
00:23:49I mean, you watch these guys have to change their repertoires.
00:23:51You do too many moves over and over against different opponents.
00:23:55And these guys will catch on to you.
00:23:57So you've always got to constantly change your psychological approach and how you set up your moves.
00:24:03Finley, he knows what's coming here with this guy.
00:24:06That's a very good point, Larry.
00:24:07You see these guys wrestle on all of our programs.
00:24:10Thunder Nitro, Saturday Night at Cover 1, 2.
00:24:13On our pay-per-view telecast, you get an idea of what they're going to hit you with.
00:24:17And Finley, well-schooled in what the Dragon's going to come up with in this matchup.
00:24:22Finley obviously well-prepared, well-scouted, planning everything.
00:24:26One step ahead of the Dragon, Larry.
00:24:28Well, you know, it was interesting.
00:24:29Years ago when you didn't have videotapes and all that, it was hard to study opponents.
00:24:33But nowadays, these guys sit in their rooms for hours, but, oh, Finley got out of it.
00:24:38See, again, he's ready.
00:24:39He knows the Dragon goes for that sleeper.
00:24:40He's ready for a counter move.
00:24:42And Finley, he set him up.
00:24:44You're not kidding.
00:24:45He got out of the Dragon sleeper and then was kicked in the back.
00:24:48But he came back with a lariat to Finley.
00:24:51Dragon's going to hook him again.
00:24:52Another Dragon sleeper on Finley.
00:24:54And look, he's keeping Finley in a position where Finley can't bring the knee up.
00:24:58And Finley finally taps out.
00:24:59It's over.
00:25:00The Ultimo Dragon earned this victory.
00:25:03He countered the counter.
00:25:04Yes, he did.
00:25:06A lot of times that's the only way to win.
00:25:08To counter the counter.
00:25:09The Dragon is your winner over Fit Finley here on Nitro.
00:25:14Nicely done.
00:25:14A matchup that was dominated by Fit Finley goes to the Ultimo Dragon.
00:25:19Went to the well the second time with the Dragon sleeper.
00:25:22And that proved to be the charm as he was able to hold off Fit Finley for the win.
00:25:26It was like I was saying, nowadays for hours they studied the video Dragon.
00:25:30Failed at the first attempt, but the second time he hooked that sleeper,
00:25:33kept his head far away from the knee of Fit Finley.
00:25:36The NWO back together again, the Macho Man and Hollywood Hogan later on
00:25:39against Sting and Luger, live on Nitro.

00:54:53If there was ever a matchup, Tony, that really exemplified or typified the spirit of Uncensored, it was that Triple Jeopardy matchup. What a physical battle.
00:55:02If you saw that match, you'll understand why Benoit is kicking Raven right here.

00:55:11Well, Benoit was watching earlier when Goldberg, because we got the whole flock just sitting out there next to the pool.
00:55:16I'll tell you another reason why Benoit is going right after Raven in a hurry.
00:55:21Not only because of what he said, he hooks him from behind, but also because the winner of this matchup is a German suplex.

00:56:27But DDP showed us there's a lot more determination and heart and perseverance than even we knew about.
00:56:34Now Raven can come out here with his quoting of the Nevermores, but I think what it boils down to is just plain old everyday jealousy.
00:56:44Raven jealous of the success of Diamond Dallas Page.
00:56:47Three times in that matchup last night at Uncensored when we thought that Raven and Chris Benoit had joined forces.
00:56:54But it was just momentary in that matchup against DDP.
00:56:56Well, I think last night that joining forces for a fleeting moment was the right thing to do.
00:57:03And that's what they did, but it was Diamond Dallas Page to cover by Benoit.

01:04:40And as you know by now, the alliance that we thought was cohesive is not that way at all.
01:04:46The battle continues for supremacy within the NWO.
01:04:50But regardless, Hollywood Hogan and Savage tonight moving together in our tag team main event
01:04:56against world champion Sting and the total package, Black Kluger.
