00:00I first started in agriculture by marrying David and moving to the farm in 1972.
00:09And to improve our commercial ramshackle herd of crossbreed cattle
00:16we imported two Brahman bulls from the Northern Territory
00:20and that started our expedition into Brahman cattle
00:25and all the work that ended up from there.
00:30They're beautiful, quite cattle and they're easy to handle.
00:34They never got sick and I could work 40 bulls in the yard and not worry about my back.
00:42As a volunteer for the RAS I ran the cattle judging at the Royal Show for 34 years
00:52to help coordinate the Young Judges competitions and the Junior Paraders competitions.
00:59And with the help of one of the cattle counsellors, Eric Cahill,
01:06we set up the competitions throughout the regional country shows
01:11and on the grounds that I was willing to travel to them and do the competitions.
01:16And that started everything back in the 90s and moved from there.
01:24And then of course we set up the Brahman sales in the Kimberleys and the Pilbara in 1988 onwards
01:33and helped set up the awareness program for the live export market with Southeast Asia and overseas.
