00:00When it comes to the portal, how much you guys are paying attention to the potential

00:07guys who might come on the portal eventually throughout the season, throughout the season right now?

00:12Yeah, I think we have a heightened awareness of guys that are performing really well

00:18across college football, try to be on top of it as soon as that they become available.

00:24But certainly you pay attention more now, almost like an NFL model of what guys are

00:29doing across the college football.

00:31I asked that just for context on Dylan Thiedemann,

00:33he was someone you guys played against, I've never been in the game for two years.

00:37How did that awareness change over time and to the point where you came into it?

00:43Tell me more, what you're saying.

00:44How much, what was your awareness?

00:45We knew Dylan, we do snakes, best players that we're playing against each week.

00:50For us, Dylan was a snake whenever we went into that game.

00:52That's a guy that we gotta be aware of, where he's at, what he does.

00:56So certainly us being familiar with playing against Dylan was an advantage of knowing what

01:01kind of player he was and then realizing what some of our needs were.

01:05But when you really get to know Dylan, that's when you fall in love with Dylan,

01:09what kind of worker he is, what he does.

01:10And those are the things that the tape don't tell.

01:13But you can figure it out quickly through the relationship of hopping on the phone and

01:17having the guy to visit, being around his family.

01:19He's got an unbelievable family that are super supportive of him but also challenging.

01:24They're not just gonna give him the easy way out and that's developed who Dylan is.

01:28I mean, Dylan would tell you part of the reasons he's had the success he's had is

01:31because of his older brother, right, and that experience of growing up in that house.

01:36So I think you're always aware of guys you're playing.

01:39It's certainly helped us that we get to see Dylan first in person and

01:42be able to evaluate him playing in that season.
