00:00All right, Keith, let's set this up because we've got ourselves
00:03the ultimate conundrum here.
00:05We know the deal with Scottie.
00:06I mean, minus 190 with two full rounds of golf left to play.
00:14He's got a one-shot lead here.
00:15Your guy, our guy, Matthew Fitzpatrick, who unfortunately,
00:19he should be tied with him if he could only make that two-and-a-half foot
00:22around 17 as he was going in.
00:25But that's just the way that it goes.
00:27So 10 under for Scottie, 9 under for Matt.
00:29Brian Harmon hanging around another open championship now here,
00:33and Hotong Lee, who's played very good golf the last two days,
00:36and then a host of guys at five.
00:38Let's start with this.
00:39Scottie going to run away and hide here, Keith?
00:41Please don't tell me yes.
00:43Well, here's the thing, Mike.
00:45Simple answer to that question, no.
00:46I don't think he's going to run away with this thing.
00:48Yes, the ball striking was great today, but yesterday he missed what?
00:53He hit three fairways and missed 11 of them.
00:56So, I mean, I think this thing is going to rollercoaster more than you think.
00:59There's two factors that are not working in our favor.
01:01Number one, it's Scottie Scheffler is the number one player in the world.
01:04Number two, the weather looks fine.
01:06It actually looks really, really nice for the weekend.
01:08Tomorrow they might get a little rain in the morning.
01:10They might get some wind 10 to 15 miles an hour in the afternoon,
01:13but this is the Irish coastline.
01:15Like, it was sunny and the wind laid down this afternoon,
01:18and Scottie and Fitz and everybody else went to town on that golf course.
01:22And you're going to have to go low this weekend in order to take Scottie down.
01:25Now, hey, Fitz made it, what did he make, eight birdies today?
01:28I mean, it could happen again.
01:30And he missed a bunch of short putts over the course of the first two days.
01:34I love where Fitzpatrick's at.
01:37You know, everyone's all over Scottie.
01:39When he finished, he was minus 175, Mike.
01:41He's now minus 190.
01:43Everyone is, they're hammering it already, right?
01:45Like, 36 holes is a long way to go.
01:48If he was minus 190 with 18 holes to go, I'd feel better about it.
01:5136 holes is a long way to go in an opportunity where look what happened to Shane
01:55or look at some of the quirky things that have happened over the last two days.
01:59I still think there's some hope.
02:01I think there's some hope, too.
02:03I don't think this is completely shut down.
02:06Now, me and you are obviously going to be rooting a lot for Matt.
02:09Do you think that the guys in the fives,
02:12is there anyone in the fives that you believe in?
02:14Do you cut it off at minus five,
02:16or do you think anything below that still has a chance?
02:18I don't see anyone below minus five.
02:22I mean, it would take two rounds of like 63 to do it,
02:25because it's not just Scottie that's up there.
02:27You've got two proven winners in Fitzpatrick and Harmon that are both playing well.
02:31You know, I mean, Harmon's leading the field in approach play, right?
02:34I mean, he shot what he did today.
02:36He had the low round of the day until Scottie finished,
02:39and he basically lost strokes putting, if you can believe that.
02:43He hit every fairway.
02:43He pretty much hit every green.
02:45You know, I mean, he put on a stripe show.
02:47So, I think anyone, you know, I have a lot of faith right now in McIntyre.
02:52I have money on Hatton.
02:53You know, I got Hatton pre-tournament at 33.
02:56So, like, I think some of those guys, the way they're hitting it,
02:58they could certainly make a charge past that.
03:01I mean, it would take two incredible rounds,
03:03and then all those guys at the top need to falter,
03:05and they're not all Hatong Lee.
03:07You know, like, I mean, Scottie's up there.
03:09Fitz is up there.
03:10These are proven commodities.
03:11And I think that five's even a stretch,
03:14but some of those guys at five, like Hatton and McIntyre, I think have a chance.
03:19Yeah.
03:19I mean, look, you know, 28-1 for Hatton right now, 33-1 for Bobby Mack.
03:23Kind of around where they were before the tournament started.
03:27Yeah.
03:27And you can kind of get them right where they are five shots back.
03:32I'm with you.
03:32I think those are the two guys you circle.
03:34I don't know if Harry, as well as English, has played.
03:36I don't know if he's got enough to make up five strokes over the next two days,
03:41especially with how the course is going to play.
03:43And the Hoy guards are like, they're so up and down, Keith.
03:47It's like one day they're on fire.
03:49That Rasmus, he could shoot three over in a heartbeat tomorrow.
03:52I mean, Rasmus could gain seven with his irons,
03:55and he could lose seven with his irons,
03:56and that could all happen on the front nine tomorrow.
03:58So, like, I mean, the Hoy guards, we don't even know which one's which, really.
04:02I mean, they could switch spots, like, behind the dunes, and we wouldn't know.
04:05But, you know, what it comes down to is that between the weather,
04:08you've got to go low, and between the way the golf course is playing,
04:11I mean, the golf course played two strokes over par on round one.
04:14Round two, it played four-tenths of a stroke over par.
04:17I mean, it's just too soft.
04:19The big question I have for you, Mike, is right now the Ryder Cup,
04:23Team USA is still favored at minus 145, Europe at plus 115.
04:28So, Catlin, Catley, Morikawa, what are we doing, right?
04:32We've got problems at Bethpage.
