00:00Everton are entering a vital chapter under David Moyes
00:06as the club looks to re-establish itself in the top half of the Premier League
00:09and build a sustainable platform for long-term growth.
00:14Back at the helm after two decades since his first bell,
00:17Moyes is combining a familiar grip with modern edge.
00:20The focus this summer has been on organisation, discipline
00:23and adding the right blend of experience and energy
00:26to a squad that already showed signs of promise last season.
00:30This isn't about short-term fixes, it's about restoring identity.
00:35Moyes wants Everton to be hard to beat, physically dominant and tactically sharp.
00:40He's also placing an emphasis on developing younger players
00:43and improving those already in the building,
00:46creating a side that reflects both the club's heritage and his own footballing principles.
00:53We caught up with Will Rooney of Liverpool World,
00:55who made clear that Moyes and the club hierarchy are aligned in their vision,
01:01steady progress, a strong home record and a squad that fights every week.
01:07Everton aren't chasing quick headlines, but they're building something more lasting.
01:11Will, on to Everton in terms of the summer window.
01:17I know we obviously mentioned there's been a fair few players out the door,
01:20but there's been some contract renewals since as well.
01:23Let's just start with that.
01:24Who's going to be staying?
01:26Who's going to be in David Moyes' plans for the future that maybe rewind a month or so?
01:31The future might have been a bit uncertain at Everton.
01:33Yeah, so the good news is that Riscana Gaye obviously pens a one-year extension
01:39with the option of another year.
01:41And I think every fan will agree that that was the right decision.
01:46Riscana Gaye might be 35-36, but he was immense last season.
01:53He was playing like he was 25-26.
01:55He was Everton's best player for me.
01:58Rightly, he was awarded player of the year.
02:00And in a massive summer for Everton, keeping your nucleus of your team,
02:07your spine of your team, it's going to be important.
02:10Now, they've done that.
02:12They've renewed the contract of Jarrett Bramfoyt,
02:15which is a real statement of intent from the Freakin' group
02:19because Jarrett Bramfoyt will be one of the most coveted centre-backs
02:23in the Premier League, if not in Europe.
02:27He's got everything.
02:28You'd want a defender.
02:30He's left-footers as well.
02:31There's not many of them around.
02:33He's going to go right to the very top.
02:37And Everton have laid down the mark.
02:38I'm saying, right, we're not selling them this summer.
02:40We're building our team effectively around a player like Jarrett Bramfoyt.
02:45And who knows what happened?
02:46If they do well this season, what could come of that?
02:49But that is almost like a sign in itself because it's quelled all the early rumours
02:55and all the talks about maybe Tottenham coming in for him.
02:58But instead, I think Bramfoyt's probably been given a good contract,
03:04one that he deserves, one that represents his stature in the team.
03:07And I think the decision to tie down Michael Keane for another year is prudence.
03:16Look, Everton need four centre-backs.
03:18Bramfoyt will be the starter.
03:21James Tarkowski's working his way back from a serious hamstring injury
03:24at the end of last season.
03:26He's into the last year of his contract.
03:29And he's been really reliable, James Tarkowski, for Everton.
03:35He didn't miss a Premier League game until that injury he suffers
03:38in the back end of the campaign.
03:40But he is in his 30s.
03:43Are Everton maybe going to have to manage him a little bit more carefully this season
03:47given the severity of his hamstring issue?
03:49We've got Jake O'Brien who can also play right back.
03:51So signing Michael Keane again for another year, it made sense.
03:57It meant Everton didn't have to go out and recruit in another position
04:01when they already need so many.
04:03And Seamus Coleman extending his contract another year,
04:09bringing Everton to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
04:13Maybe he might have retired in other circumstances,
04:17but David Moyes wanted to keep him.
04:19He wanted to keep his voice in the dressing room.
04:21And I think it would be important for Everton to have him for another year.
04:26So, look, they all make sense who they've kept.
04:29And now it's about who they can bring in, the belt.
04:32But, yeah, it's proven difficult.
04:34And it's understandable why, because they need a lot of players,
04:39but they need quality players as well who will make an impact.
04:42And then, with them, I'll not be able to gather here right.
04:54When they're in the final length, you know,
04:56and we'll trigger one of the iv someday.
04:58We'll start a вами with another certo degree to the best key.
05:01We'll get this one, the truth of everything I can sacrifice here.
05:03And then I'm in the next hour.
05:05And I know we're having enough layers to go out.
