Kalyan: Man Tears ₹32,000 Lehenga With Knife Over Refund Dispute, Arrested After CCTV Video Goes Viral

A shocking incident was caught on CCTV in a garment showroom in Maharashtra’s Kalyan on Saturday evening, where a man, enraged over a refund dispute, brandished a knife, tore a lehenga and blouse, and threatened the shopkeeper.

The accused, identified as Sumit Sayani, was arrested after the video went viral on social media. According to reports, his fiancée had returned a ₹32,000 lehenga, dissatisfied with it, and demanded a refund. When the shopkeeper refused and offered another lehenga instead, Sumit lost his temper, slashed the lehenga and blouse, and allegedly threatened the shopkeeper saying: “I’ll cut you up like this too. Give me back the money!”

The shopkeeper lodged a complaint at Bazaarpeth Police Station, following which police arrested Sumit. No injuries were reported. The aggressive act has left shopkeepers in the area shaken.
