From a pandemic-born idea to a proudly Tobagonian brand, making waves across the nation. One local entrepreneur is celebrating five years of success in style.
Achsah Gulston brings us this Weekend Spotlight on Beard Boss, a growing grooming line that's turning heads at the Trade and Investment Convention.

00:00Beard Boss is more than just a beard oil. It's a brand built on pride and representation.
00:07And its creator, Akeel Andrews, is determined to grow it into a household name.
00:13Beard Boss works for all ethnicities, all age groups, all backgrounds.
00:18I have ambassadors that represent my brand.
00:21They have East Indian, they have African descent, they have different age groups.
00:26Launched during the pandemic, the business celebrates its fifth anniversary this December.
00:32At TIC 2025, it was part of the Tobago House of Assembly's showcase.
00:38We currently have four products that are part of the line.
00:41We have two beard oil fragrances, sized at four ounces, a soft lemon coconut and the gold leaf mint.
00:47We also have a beard shampoo, which is sized at eight ounces,
00:51and the leaf-in conditioner, sized at four ounces, to be paired with the beard oils.
00:56With her presence in 12 retail outlets across Trinidad and Tobago,
01:01Beard Boss is no stranger to the spotlight.
01:04But the founder says it's always more than sales.
01:07This is actually my third time at TIC, and the product has always been well-received.

01:21you know, knowing that we can have our beard as our superpower.
