00:00Day 2 was another chance for a young cyclist to put themselves in contention for medals in the women's sprint and men's curing at the Vidina Velidrome in Lima.
00:08Kyra Williams, the lone female of the four-member squad, impressed Illy, finishing with the fifth fastest time in the sprint qualifying round, stopping the clock at 12.063 seconds.
00:18She breezed through the round of 16, beating Chile's Yolina Barraza, before getting her tactics right against Ariel Greaves of Barbados.
00:30And she took the early initiative in the second race to book a semi-final spot with a slightly closer finish.
