00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:20We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly the compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:26Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
00:33May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:41Let us pray.
00:43O God, we show the light of your truth to those who go astray, so they may return to the right path.
00:49Give all who, for the faith they profess, are accounted Christians, the grace to reject whatever is contrary to the name of Christ, and to strive after all that does it honor.
01:01Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
01:11A reading from the Book of Exodus
01:15Moses and Aaron worked many wonders in the presence of Pharaoh.
01:21But the Lord made Pharaoh's heart stubborn, and he did not let the children of Israel leave his country.
01:29The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt,
01:33This month is to be the first of all the others for you, the first month of your year.
01:40Speak to the whole community of Israel and say,
01:44On the tenth day of this month, each must take an animal from their flock, one for each family, one animal for each household.
01:55If the household is too small to eat the animal, one must join with their neighbor, the nearest to their house, as the number of persons requires.
02:06You must take into account what each can eat in deciding the number of the animal.
02:13It must be an animal without blemish, a male, one year old.
02:18You may take it from either sheep or goats.
02:21You must keep it until the fourth day of the month, when the whole assembly of the community of Israel shall slaughter it between the two evenings.
02:30Some of the blood must be taken and put on the two dowel posts and the lentil of the house where it is eaten.
02:39At night the flesh is to be eaten, roasted over the fire.
02:44It must be eaten with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
02:48Do not eat any of it raw or boiled, but roasted over the fire, head and feet and entiles.
02:55You must not leave any over until the morning.
02:59Whatever is left till morning you are to burn.
03:03You shall eat it like this, with a girdle around your waist, sandals on your feet, a staff in your hand.
03:11You shall eat it hastily.
03:13It is a Passover in honour of the Lord.
03:16At night I will go through the land of Egypt and strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, man and beast alike.
03:26And I shall leave a punishment to all the gods of Egypt.
03:30On I am the Lord, the blood shall serve to mark the houses that you live in.
03:36When I see the blood, I will pass over you.
03:39And you shall escape the destroying plague when I strike the land of Egypt.
03:45This day is to be the day of remembrance for you.
03:48And you must celebrate it as a feast of the Lord's honour.
03:52For all generations you are to declare it a day of festival forever.
03:57The word of the Lord.
04:00Thanks be to God.
04:02I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.
04:07I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.
04:12Alleluia!
04:14How can I repay the Lord for his goodness to me?
04:18The cup of salvation I will raise.
04:20I will call on the Lord's name.
04:22I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.
04:27O precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful.
04:32Your servant, Lord, your servant am I.
04:34You have loosened my bones.
04:36I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.
04:41A thanksgiving sacrifice I make.
04:44I will call on the Lord's name.
04:46My vows to the Lord I will fulfil before all his people.
04:50I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.
04:55Alleluia!
04:56Alleluia!
04:57My sheep listen to my voice, says the Lord.
05:00I know them and they follow me.
05:02Alleluia!
05:03The Lord be with you.
05:06A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
05:09Glory to you, O Lord.
05:12Jesus took a walk one Sabbath day through the cornfields.
05:16His disciples were hungry and began to pick ears of corn and eat them.
05:21The Pharisees noticed it and said to him,
05:24Look, your disciples are doing something that is forbidden on the Sabbath.
05:28But he said to them,
05:29Have you not read what David had did when he and his followers were hungry?
05:35How he went into the house of God and how they ate the loaves of offering,
05:40which neither he nor his followers were allowed to eat?
05:44But which were for the priests alone?
05:47Or again, have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath day the temple priests break the Sabbath without being blamed for it?
05:57Now here, I tell you, is something greater than the temple.
06:01And if you had understood the meaning of the words,
06:04What I want is mercy, not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the blameless.
06:10For the Son of Man is master of the Sabbath.
06:14The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
06:17Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:20Thank God for Jesus, who was able to help us understand the immense love of God.
06:25And not so much the letter of the law, but the spirit of the law, of what it's about.
06:30How the law is something pointing beyond it to the amazing love of God and our relationship with God.
06:36And when we lose track of death, when we lose track of compassion, it becomes legalisms.
06:41And Jesus brought everything to a much higher level.
06:44Much higher level.
06:46Reminding us of the supremacy of love.
06:49That's the most important thing that there is.
06:51Genuine love.
06:52Which is much more than sentimentality.
06:55It's about true commitment.
06:57Really wanting the good for others.
06:59Really open to a healthy relationship with God and with each other.
07:04And indeed, with the world around us.
07:07And indeed, with the world around us.
07:10Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
07:25For to your goodness we have this bread to offer.
07:27Which God has given human hands and made.
07:29It will become for us the bread of life.
07:31Blessed be God forever.
07:33Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
07:34For to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
07:35Fruit of divine work of human hands.
07:36It will become a spiritual drink.
07:37Blessed be God forever.
07:37Amen.
07:38Blessed be God forever.
07:39Amen.
07:40Dear God, to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
07:42And indeed, with the word of God.
07:43We will become a spiritual drink.
07:44Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
07:45For to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
07:46Fruit of divine work of human hands.
07:49It will become a spiritual drink.
07:51Blessed be God forever.
07:52Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of the divine work of human hands, it will become a spiritual drink. Blessed be God forever.
08:07Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands for the praise and glory of God's name, for our good and the good of God's holy Church.
08:29Look upon the offerings of the Church, O Lord, as she makes her prayer to you, and grant that when consumed by those who believe, they may bring ever greater holiness, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
08:44Amen.
09:14Amen.
09:16Amen.
09:22Amen.
09:38Amen.
09:42You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
09:45Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
09:48by sending down your Spirit upon them that did you fall,
09:51so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:56At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion,
10:00he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it and gave it to his disciples,
10:06saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
10:08for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
10:17In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice,
10:23and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying,
10:30Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
10:33for this is the chalice of my blood,
10:35the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:37which will be poured out for you and for many,
10:41for the forgiveness of sins.
10:43Do this in memory of me.
10:51The mystery of faith.
10:53When we eat this bread and drink this cup,
10:56we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
10:59Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
11:04we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
11:09giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:14Humbly, we pray, that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:18we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
11:21Remember, Lord, your church, spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:27together with Leo, our Pope, we, your unworthy servant, and all the clergy.
11:33Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:37and all who have died in your mercy.
11:41Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:44Have mercy on us all, we pray,
11:47that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:49blessed Joseph, her spouse,
11:51with the blessed apostles,
11:53and all the saints who have preached you throughout the ages,
11:56we may, through your grace,
11:57merit to be coerced to eternal life.
12:01And may praise and glorify you
12:03through your Son, Jesus Christ.
12:05Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father,
12:12in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
12:15all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
12:19Amen.
12:22At the Savior's command, and formed by divine teaching,
12:25we dare to say,
12:26Our Father, who art in heaven,
12:29hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come,
12:31thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:34Give us this day our daily bread,
12:37and forgive us our trespasses,
12:39as we forgive those who trespass against us.
12:42And lead us not into temptation,
12:44but deliver us from evil.
12:46Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
12:49Graciously grant peace in our days,
12:52that by the help of your mercy,
12:53we may be always free from sin
12:55and safe from all distress,
12:57as we await the blessed hope
12:59and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
13:02For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
13:05now and forever.
13:07Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
13:10Peace I leave you, my peace I give you,
13:12look not on our sins,
13:13but on the faith of your church,
13:15and graciously grant her peace and unity
13:17in accordance with your will,
13:19who live and reign forever and ever.
13:21Amen.
13:22The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ
13:24be with you always.
13:26Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
13:29Peace be with you all.
13:31Lamb of God,
13:32you take away the sins of the world.
13:35Have mercy on us.
13:37Lamb of God,
13:37you take away the sins of the world.
13:40Have mercy on us.
13:42Lamb of God,
13:43you take away the sins of the world.
13:45Grant us peace.
13:46Behold the Lamb of God,
14:02who takes away the sins of the world.
14:04Happy are those who are called
14:05to the supper of the Lamb.
14:07Lord, I am not worthy,
14:08you should enter under my roof.
14:10But only say the word,
14:11and my soul shall be healed.
14:13My Jesus,
14:16I believe that you are present
14:18in the most blessed sacrament.
14:20I love you above all things,
14:21and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:25Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
