00:00In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you and with your spirit.
00:20I'm just going to put some more lights on.
00:30We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly, the compassion, the mercy and the love of God.
00:37You are with us in good times and in bad times.
00:40Lord, have mercy.
00:41Lord, have mercy.
00:42You turn to good everything for those who love you.
00:44Christ, have mercy.
00:45Christ, have mercy.
00:46And you call us away from fear into love.
00:49Lord, have mercy.
00:51Lord, have mercy.
00:52May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us into healing and life everlasting.
00:58Amen.
00:59Let us pray.
01:00Show favor, O Lord, to your servants and mercifully increase the gifts of your grace that may fervent in hope, faith and charity.
01:09They may be ever watchful in keeping your commands.
01:12Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.
01:20Amen.
01:21Amen.
01:29Amen.
01:30A reading from the book of Exodus.
01:32From Elim they set out, and the whole community of the sons of Israel reached the wilderness of Sin, between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had left Egypt.
01:45And the whole community of the sons of Israel began to complain against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness, and said to them,
01:55How did we not die at the Lord's hands in the land of Egypt, when we were able to sit down to pans of meat, and could eat bread to our hearts content?
02:05As it is, you have brought us to this wilderness to starve this whole company to death.
02:14Then the Lord said to Moses, Now I will rain down bread for you from heaven.
02:21Each day the people are to go out and gather the day's portion.
02:27I propose to test them in this way, to see whether they will follow my law or not.
02:34On the sixth day, when they prepare what they have brought in, this will be twice as much as their daily gathering.
02:43Moses said to Aaron, To the whole community of the sons of Israel say this,
02:50Present yourselves before the Lord, for he has heard your complaints.
02:54As Aaron was speaking to the whole community of the sons of Israel, they turned towards the wilderness,
03:01and there was the glory of the Lord appearing in the form of a cloud.
03:08Then the Lord spoke to Moses and said, I have heard the complaints of the sons of Israel.
03:14Say this to them, Between the two evenings you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall have bread to your hearts content.
03:23Then you will learn that I, the Lord, am your God.
03:28And so it came about. Quail flew up in the evening, and they covered the camp.
03:34In the morning there was a coating of dew all round the camp.
03:40When the coating of dew lifted, there on the surface of the desert was the thing delicate,
03:51powdery as fine as the whole frost on the ground.
03:54When they saw this, the sons of Israel said to one another,
03:59What is that, not knowing what it was?
04:03That, said Moses to them, is the bread the Lord gives you to eat.
04:12Thanks be to the Lord.
04:14Thanks be to the Lord.
04:15Our response would be, The Lord gave them bread from heaven.
04:19The Lord gave them bread from heaven.
04:21In their heart they put God to the test by demanding the food they craved.
04:26They even spoke against God.
04:28They said, Is it possible for God to prepare a table in the desert?
04:33Our response, The Lord gave them bread from heaven.
04:37Yet He commanded the clouds above, and opened the gates of heaven.
04:41He rained down manna for their food, and gave them bread from heaven.
04:46The Lord gave them bread from heaven.
04:49Mere men ate the bread of angels.
04:51He sent them abundance of food.
04:54He made the east wind blow from heaven, and roused the south wind by His might.
05:02Our response, gave them bread from heaven.
05:06He rained food on them like dust, winged fowl like the sands of the sea.
05:12He let it fall in the midst of their camp, and all around their tents.
05:17The Lord gave them bread from heaven.
05:20The Gospel acclamation.
05:22Alleluia, Alleluia.
05:24The seed is the word of God.
05:26Christ is the sower.
05:28All who come to Him will live forever.
05:31Alleluia.
05:32The Lord be with you.
05:37And with your spirit.
05:38A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
05:42Glory to you, O Lord.
05:44Jesus left the house, and sat by the lakeside.
05:49But such a crowd gathered round Him, that He got into a boat and sat there.
05:56The people all stood on the beach, and He told them many things in parables.
06:04He said, Imagine a sower going out to sow.
06:09As he sowed, some seeds fell on the edge of the path, and the birds came and ate them up.
06:17Others fell on patches of rock, where they found little soil, and sprang up straight away, but because there was no depth of earth, as soon as the sun came up, they were scorched, and could not have any roots.
06:34They withered away.
06:36Others fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked them.
06:41Others fell on rich soil, and produced their crop.
06:46Some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
06:50Listen, anyone who has ears.
06:53The Gospel of the Lord.
06:54Thanks to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
07:07We can have some say as to whether I put ourselves in fertile ground, or allow ourselves to stay in places where the rocks and the thorns,
07:22and the birds, and the birds eat us up.
07:29Through prayer, to giving ourselves time to reflect on the Gospel, to listening to the guidance of the Church's teachings,
07:41we're putting ourselves in fertile ground where we can grow.
07:47So we need to be reflective people, reflecting on our actions and reactions, and to keep asking,
07:56is this what God would want me to do?
08:00Is this what God is saying to me?
08:04So instead of just reacting to things, we need to prayerfully discern and reflect.
08:17Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
08:23which earth has given human hands have made.
08:26It will become for us the bread of life.
08:28Blessed be God forever.
08:30Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
08:39fruit of divine work of human hands.
08:40It will become our spiritual drink.
08:41Blessed be God forever.
08:46Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
08:55fruit of divine work of human hands.
08:57It will become our spiritual drink.
08:59Blessed be God forever.
09:01Blessed be God forever.
09:10Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God our almighty Father.
09:17May the Lord accept this sacrifice at your hands for the mercy of God.
09:20Praise and glory of God's name, for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
09:25O God, who in the one perfect sacrifice brought to completion varied offerings of the law,
09:32accept and pray this sacrifice from your faithful servants,
09:36and make it holy, as you bless the gifts of Abel,
09:40so that what each has offered to your honour may benefit the salvation of all.
09:46Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
09:49The Lord be with you.
09:55And with your spirit.
09:56Lift up your hearts.
09:57Lift them up to the Lord.
09:58Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
10:01It is right and just.
10:02It is truly right and just.

11:07so they may become for us the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus
11:12Christ.

11:17into his Passion, he took bread and giving thanks broke it
11:21broke it and gave it to his disciples say take this all of you and eat of it
