We went out into Manchester to ask people on the street about the potential of bin collections being reduced with stricter rules on recycling to see how it would affect them.
00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houston Betts and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about bins.
00:06And that's because there have been changes in the way that collections are happening.
00:09There are going to be fewer collections and much stricter rules on what can and can't be recycled.
00:13So we want to know if people are worried about this, if they think that fewer collections will massively impact them.
00:18Well, currently, I live, so you stay at mine half a week, but I kind of live alone.
00:23So basically it's just two adults in the house most of the time.
00:26So ours aren't usually too bad, but then I can imagine obviously families with kids or with, you know, more than two people in the house, obviously my bin would be full.
00:34We do have recycle and we're pretty keen on recycling at home, aren't we?
00:39We do everything pretty much to the book, but I know sometimes they won't take a bin if there's one wrong thing in, which is a bit over the top.
00:46It's kind of putting people off if you pulled up and I want to take your full bin because of one item and instead of just mentioning it.
00:53I think that's been a bit ridiculous. It's at least 99% of the stuff that's cycling is better than none at all.
