Rangpur Riders began their title defence in style by beating Guyana Amazon Warriors by eight runs at the Providence Stadium.  The franchise from Bangladesh made 162 for 5 from 20 overs, with Kyle Mayers scoring 44 not out.  In reply, the Amazon Warriors were bowled out for 154 in the final over, with Khaled Ahmed taking four wickets.

00:08Opener Soumya Sarkar chipped in with 35 from 36 deliveries.

00:13Left-arm spinner Godokesh Moti took two wickets for 32.

00:19Captain Imran Tahir also grabbed two, but conceded just 21 runs.

00:26When Shamar Springer took a wicket, it was 86 for 5.

00:32But there was an unbroken stand of 76 between Kyle Meyers and Iftikar Ahmed.

00:37Meyers made 44 not out, while Ahmed hit an unbeaten 34.

00:42Rangpur Riders closed on a competitive 162 for 5.

00:47When the Amazon Warriors responded, Johnson Charles made a positive start.

00:53But he lost his opening partner Ramanula Gurbaz cheaply.

00:56Mohen Ali joined Charles and the two put on a partnership of 48.

01:03But it went all downhill as Charles fell for Forte and Ali 27.

01:09Khalid Ahmed removed Shofi and Rutherford and Shivran Hetmeier cheaply.

01:15Tabir Shamsi also bowled well and took two wickets.

01:19But Khalid Ahmed grabbed four to the dismay of the Guyana fans.

01:25And Azmatullah Omar Zai picked up two as Guyana Amazon Warriors were all out for 154 in 19.1 overs
