00:32In talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Anwar said both sides reviewed key areas
00:38of cooperation, building on momentum from President Xi Jinping's state visit to Malaysia
00:43in April, which saw the signing of 31 Memoranda of Understanding and Agreements.
00:49The meeting also touched on narrowing the trade gap and expanding collaboration in port development
00:53liquefied natural gas, water management, the digital economy and green technology.
01:00Anwar expressed appreciation for China's support of ASEAN's five-point consensus on Myanmar
01:06and reiterated Malaysia's commitment to a peaceful resolution of the South China Sea issue in
01:12accordance with international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of
01:17the Sea. During his meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Anwar said Malaysia
01:23Malaysia and Australia continue to deepen ties established since 1957. He welcomed growing
01:29Australian interest in smart manufacturing, the digital economy, artificial intelligence and
01:35renewable energy. He also invited Australia to participate in the Malaysia International
01:41Halal Showcase in September, citing the halal industry's potential as a key driver of future
01:47collaboration. Education remains a cornerstone of Malaysia-Australia relations, Anwar said, with
01:54a new memorandum of understanding expected to be signed during the annual leaders' meeting
01:58in October. The MOU will cover science, technology, engineering and mathematics, STEM, technical and
02:07vocational education and training, TVET, curriculum development and student exchange programs.
02:13He also thanked Australia for supporting Malaysia's vaccine capability development through training
02:19and research funding worth $500,000 Australian dollars. Anwar said he looks forward to Australian
02:26Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's official visit to Malaysia in October, which is expected to usher
02:32in a new era of cooperation rooted in trust, shared values and a vision for a peaceful and prosperous
02:39indoor-pacific.
