00:00Welcome to Marvel and Mysteries. My name is Tracy. And if you're like me, you're potentially
00:16stuck in fast forward a good chunk of the time and people need to tell you, hey, can you hit
00:21the pause button just for a second? Or can you slow down? So this is for you. This video is for
00:27you. And what we're talking about today and what we're going to learn together today is why it is
00:32important to stop rushing through life, even though it is held in such high regard when you're
00:40busy and productive and positive and all of that stuff. What does it really mean for you and for
00:45your life? If you think about it, the news cycle rushes us even the latest tragedies. It's like
00:51from one horrible event to the next and you forget about the first set of poor people that went through
00:56some kind of hell on earth. And it's everything. Everything is pushing us along. Jobs, even if
01:03you're paying attention to trends, if it's fashion or social media, those are always changing and
01:09driving you along. And so I'm in this place where I just want to say just say no to demonic jockeys,
01:15you know, they just cling to you and keep on whipping. And that is not healthy for any of us.
01:20And in this day and age, we are bombarded by so much information and the landscape being that it's
01:28so digital these days. It's like there's this war that's going on for our minds that we didn't really
01:34ever expect or know to expect. And now because of the digital landscape, there are people that are
01:41literally stepping into the spirit realm that don't even know that that's exactly where they're going
01:47when they're heading into these other platforms. So we have a lot to be reminded of. And we also
01:54need to know how to be more measured about our lives as we go through. And I've been following
02:00Jesus for about 16 years. So not born again for five minutes, but haven't been in this thing for 50
02:06years either. But I have learned from my mistakes over the years and from errors that I've made and
02:12genuine just the process of following Him that we need to slow down. And that has been one of the
02:18hardest things in my life because I am so go, go, go. So for all of those people, this video is
02:25definitely for you because we do. We need to take the time and we need to slow down so that we don't
02:30miss out on things. And a quick story to share with you from my before Christ days, so to speak,
02:36that taught me a lot about rushing is I had to go on this trip. And on that day in particular,
02:42and you ladies especially are going to, are you going to, you're going to understand this.
02:46I felt good. I felt like my outfit was awesome. Like my hair was right. My makeup was wonderful.
02:52And just, I felt so good. I got off that plane and I crawled up on, there was like a metal rack for
02:59luggage and the wind is blowing. And I grabbed my luggage down and it was, the wind was blowing so much.
03:05I breezed my hair kind of out of my face with my hand. I went in and I didn't have a lot of time.
03:12So I was trying to make it to my gate so I could hurry up and get something, a little snack and then
03:16run back to the gate because I had a really tight connection. So I get off the plane, I'm walking
03:23through and people are kind of smiling at me and I'm smiling back and I'm thinking, oh, I really do look
03:29good today. I really do look beautiful. And I continue on and I get to the gate and the, the flight
03:35attendant who was there, he kind of, he checked me and he sort of looked at me and he was like,
03:40well, you're all set. And I was like, well, that's kind of weird. But I walked away. I went,
03:44I hurried up, I got a snack and saw some other folks. And again, everyone is smiling at me and
03:50I'm smiling back, but I'm rushing around to get everything to get back. And so as I'm coming back
03:55to the gate, there was this little guy, one of the workers and he was pushing a big garbage can
04:00thing. And he was like, miss, miss, stop, stop, stop. And, and I almost ran him over cause I was
04:06going so fast. And, and I said, oh, what is it? And he goes, you need to go to the bathroom right
04:11now. And I said, well, okay, why? And he goes, you have black all over your face. And I said, what?
04:19And he goes, you have black like this over your face. And it dawned on me that I had actually smeared
04:26grease all over my face and didn't know it when I climbed up on the luggage rack to get my suitcase.
04:31So I was walking around thinking, oh, I, maybe I really do look nice today. And no, it wasn't
04:37people being friendly. It was people laughing at me and I was rushing so much. I had not a clue.
04:43So we need to remember that when we rush, we are going to miss things and we need somebody who's
04:51really honest to slow us down. In that case for me that day, it was like the little
04:55janitor guy who was the only one that stopped me in my tracks and told me you need to go to the
05:01bathroom right now. So I'm going to be hopefully that person for you today to help you slow down,
05:07hit the pause button, come off a fast forward so that life doesn't continually rush you along.
05:14So if we are in that perpetual rush, rush, rush, and the hurry through life and just one thing to the
05:20next to the next to the next, there's so much that we can miss out on. And these are just a few
05:25things that I had the realization of that rushing through life and being stuck on fast forward is
05:31going to put you in a position to set you up for some failure. And here's just a few reasons why is
05:37that number one, it's going to mess up your timing. Rushing will mess up your timing. It will also cause
05:46you in a lot of cases to miss your way. Think of that like missing an exit on the highway.
05:52Another area that rushing will make you miss is your advantage that you could anything that you
06:00have that you possess from the Lord, it can make you actually miss out on whatever advantage you have
06:06and to lead to missing out on prosperity. You'll also miss out on wisdom along the way because of the
06:14hurry and the scurry. And oftentimes rushing through situations when you're in a crunch, it will cause you
06:21to run after all of the wrong fixes just to try to get to a quick solution without using your head.
06:29So on that first point of timing, the scripture I want to bring to you is from 1 Peter 5, 6 and 7.
06:36I'm just going to read it to you.
06:37Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time,
06:43he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him for he cares for you. So this is that aspect of
06:52missing out on timing. We need the Lord's timing as we're walking through life because there is a
06:58specific time. There is a Kairos moment, his divine timing on our linear timeframe. And if we are rushing,
07:06we can really miss those doors that open for us. We're also, we're made in his image and likeness,
07:14but we're still growing up. So we're not all the way there yet. So though we may have a good grasp
07:20on maturity and identity in him, we still need to be going at a pace where we can catch his timing if
07:26he needs to shift us very quickly. And there can be some really serious missed opportunities that he
07:32provided for us that if we're distracted and rushing, we're just going to miss them and miss
07:37out on some ideal situation he had for us. And hurrying will cause us to actually get more anxious
07:45about all the things that we're doing. So it actually causes more stressors for us. And in that verse,
07:52we are to cast our cares upon him because he cares for us. And then point number two,
07:58we can miss our way. And this goes back to the idea of missing your exit on the highway.
08:06Proverbs 19.2 says, desire without knowledge is not good. How much more will hasty feet miss the way?
08:17And we have all had that happen where we've been in a vehicle or maybe you're walking through
08:22in a, in a, like a hospital and you're trying to find the right room and you're trying to get on the
08:27right elevator, but this elevator only goes to these floors without those ones and that sort of stuff.
08:32So slowing down and not being distracted while we're driving or trying to follow direction as
08:38we're going somewhere is going to help us to not miss the exit. Cause that happens many times as folks
08:45just miss that, the exit that, that again, it kind of goes back to timing that we can miss our turn.
08:51We can miss our way. And if we're supposed to be entering into the narrow gate, then we really need
08:59to be careful for what is the word say that for, for wide is the gate and broad is the road that
09:05leads to destruction. So we want to make sure that our feet are not hasty and that if we are desiring
09:11something that we are going in there with the knowledge from the Lord. And the next point of what
09:18we miss is we'll miss out on our advantage. We'll miss out on our opportunities for prosperity and
09:25Proverbs 21.5 says the plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. Yuck.
09:36So as the saying goes, proper planning prevents poor performance. And those that are in the business
09:43world, you hear that all of the time with that idea being that if you are preparing properly and
09:48you're not doing things hastily, then you're counting the cost as you're going into something
09:54appropriately. And you're not jumping in only to lose your shirt later. And the only way that we can
10:02ensure that we are taking that time to count the cost is if we are not rushing through a new project.
10:08It's not good to rush into something. It's one thing if the Lord says, okay, jump on this now,
10:15do this, this, this, and that, then by all means you go do that. But being pushed into something in
10:21that kind of haste can really mess up your advantage that you have in an area and the prosperity that
10:28would come. Instead of having a profit, you can have a poverty type of situation. And also wisdom.
10:35We need to slow down so that we are catching the wisdom from the Lord. And in Proverbs 8,
10:41this is being written from the perspective of wisdom personified, like the spirit of wisdom
10:47personified. And it says that wisdom was actually set up by the Lord in the beginning
10:52to everlasting, from everlasting. But what it says in Proverbs 8, 36 is,
10:58but he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All they that hate me, meaning wisdom,
11:06love death. Okay, that is a wake up call. And we should really take time to do what it says
11:12in verse 33. Hear instruction and be wise and refuse it not. How many times in your life have you not
11:22listened to the counsel around you? And you run into really bad situations. And I love what it says
11:29about he who sins against me, meaning wisdom wrongs his own soul, because that is what happens when you
11:36see friends like back think about back in your college days, if you were living in error and getting
11:42drunk or something like that, your friends were getting drunk. It's like they were definitely coming
11:47against and sitting against our own soul. And all of those ways, if you're not listening to wisdom,
11:52that is going to lead over into death. Because in a multitude of counselors, there is wisdom. And last
12:01but not least, in in this, we're having this time against rushing, because we need to slow down is running
12:11if we if we are running after the wrong things. And so I want to take you to Jeremiah 2. And I would
12:18actually advise that you read the entire chapter, because it's really interesting the way that that
12:23all of this is written out. But in Jeremiah 2, you have Israel being given everything by the Lord,
12:30and they've defiled the land, they've there, they've made his heritage an abomination. And they have
12:37run after other gods. And it actually says, in the back half half of verse 25, it says,
12:44but you said there is no hope. No, I have loved strangers. And after them, will I go in those
12:53crunch time moments, if we are not slowing down at least a minute to think and having ourselves a good
12:59say law, it is very easy to go to sources that you've known. And those sources might not be the Lord,
13:06it might not be anything that actually leads unto life. But it can be those sources that would lead
13:11unto death, there really aren't any quick fixes. And that rushing will cause that kind of panic. And it
13:18will lead you into areas that you shouldn't be. And you might not be coming out with what the Lord
13:24would actually have for you or advise you or guide you to do in those situations. And instead, you may
13:31run off into something else to try to find an answer. And depending on who that source is that you're
13:37after, you can find yourself in a lot of trouble. So if we are living our lives on fast forward, we are
13:47really missing out on the wisdom of the Lord, the direction that he has, the timing that he has, different
13:53paths that he'll open up and doors and windows opportunities. And we can really end up rushing into other
14:00sets of circumstances that we really have no business in. And we do not want to miss out on the advantages
14:07that we have. The Lord has wired you specifically. And we don't want to miss on what you have to carry and
14:14what is to bring forth, because we need the fullness of every one of you and who you are to bring that
14:20forward. And that's where it's going to be very profitable, because those are the areas that you flow in the
14:26Lord. And we don't want any of you to be missing your timing or missing the right turn to be making.
14:33And if some of you have find it kind of difficult to sit back, to relax to rest, to actually take a
14:42moment to breathe, then I want to point you over to the video on rest on matrix of justice.org.
14:49And then also, if you're struggling with planning, a great video for you is measure twice and cut
14:56once. Again, we saw in the in the verses that if your feet are hasty, and you're running into
15:03something and you don't have the knowledge for it, then you can end up with it with a poor decision
15:08that can leave you in some poverty instead of bringing about the kind of prosperity you're looking
15:13for. If you're struggling with planning and just kind of being diligent about your walk on a daily
15:20basis, then I would say go watch be sedulous about that process. It'll help you to plan, it'll help you to
15:28think, and just kind of set your set your mind in the right way as you're leading into new decisions. And I did
15:35want to leave you with a couple of scriptures. If this if this is like a prescription, you know, like at the end of
15:40the doctor's visit, these are two wonderful verses that helped me extraordinarily when I was struggling
15:48the most with this and just going from one thing to the other. I still am a work in progress right
15:55here. And so just full honesty, I still struggle with the idea of just going in the next thing in the
16:02next thing. So this is something that I do myself, and it has helped me extraordinarily. And I am on my way
16:09to being clear of this situation. But the the the verse is Isaiah 26, three, you will keep him in
16:18perfect and constant peace, whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. And when you make up
16:27your mind, and you set your mind on things above and not things beneath, and your mind is stayed on the
16:34Lord, what he would say his word, looking for his face, staying in the word of God, prayer, worship,
16:40and all of that. When you are essentially obsessed with the Lord, for a lack of a better way of putting
16:47it, when your focus is there, there is a trust that does get built over time. Because in those little
16:54areas in life that you start to feel like, Oh, I feel uneasy, he will take you through it. And you you
17:01learn and it's not so much a writing it out, you learn to trust him in that process. So you realize
17:08through it that he does keep you in perfect and constant peace. Because as you are moving along
17:15and being as obedient as you can to what he's doing, then others are also doing the same thing. And
17:22you'll see things just kind of work out around you. And you can relax and be at ease and be at peace
17:30as you realize that you do trust him. And that just gets that cycle going of ongoing peace.
17:36And then this this scripture to First Corinthians 13 for love is patient and kind. We need this so
17:44much more than anything else these days. And we don't think of rushing through relationships. We do it
17:51all the time with one another. We're so accustomed to getting our little sound bites with one another
17:57here and there. And so sometimes we'll rush. When the Lord would like us to slow down, he would like
18:03us to take time with someone because love is patient. And love is kind. And so I would just
18:10encourage you to make sure that you are giving every opportunity for that being present in your
18:16conversations, being present in prayer meetings, and not only just thinking of the next thing that
18:22you're going to pray so you sound like really cool and really with it. Like we all have been there.
18:27We've all done it. So nobody is perfect. Jesus is the only one walking on water. Well, except for like
18:34Meltari somewhere. I'm pretty sure Meltari walked on water and a few other few other people in this
18:40world. But anyway, I digress. But be patient and be kind with others and be present so that you're not
18:47rushing through your relationships either. And gosh, one other thing I want to leave you with is
18:54this idea of here we stand, and life can be swirling around us like a tornado, right? So we have to
19:03intentionally on purpose make a decision that we're going to go to the eye of the storm where the peace is.
19:10And we're going to dismantle the storm from the inside out with our words with our actions.
19:19And I hope that this blessed you and helped you to think about this and to think about
19:24what happens what we're actually missing out on when we rush. And you are too important to the kingdom,
19:31you are too important to those around you to just be this fleeting rushing vapor of a person
19:38that comes in and out of another's life. You have so much to offer. And we just won't settle unless
19:46we have it. I say we, I'm speaking on behalf of the body of Christ. We need you. We need you in
19:52your fullness. We need you to be present. And we want you to be able to hit your mark. We want you to
20:00be able to make the right turns at the right time with the right guidance, always asking the Lord for
20:06his wisdom and without running in chaos and panic and freak out to the wrong answers. So I bless you
20:16in Jesus's name. I thank you for listening. Remember to subscribe, to share, because everything is on
20:24matrixofjustice.org for you and it's to benefit you. So thank you so much for watching. Have a great week
20:31and we'll catch you next time.
