00:05and disappointments, they did not revoke my calling on your lap.
00:14Now notice something you may not have thought about here.
00:17Your eyes are only in one direction.
00:21Does anyone have eyes in the back of their head?
00:23They'll say, or on the sides? No. It would be pretty weird.
00:27The only ones who do are in Revelation, and that's a kind of scary thing,
00:30but that's a whole different story.
00:31Your eyes are only in one direction.
00:34And notice something else. This is real profound stuff,
00:37so you might want to say, wow, this is real deep.
00:39Your eyes are here. Your feet are also here.
00:42Your eyes are in the same direction as your feet.
00:45Your feet are pointing in the direction of your eyes.
00:48You say, wow, that's a revelation, Jonathan.
00:51Write a book about that. That's great.
00:54But now wait a minute.
00:56But think, if your eyes were in the opposite direction of your feet,
01:00you'd have a problem.
01:02Then you'd never see where you're going.
01:03You'd only see where you've been.
01:05You'd be living in reverse.
01:07What does that tell you?
01:09Your eyes and your feet go together.
01:11See this person, this person being filled with the Spirit
01:13right in the front by what I'm saying here.
01:15When you look at it,
01:17but think, now you say, okay, okay, but what's the thing here?
01:20When you look at it, is this.
01:21What you are looking at is where you will go in your life.
01:25The vision of your life will determine the direction of your life.
01:31And what you dwell on, in the end, is what you will dwell in.
01:36So what you look at is where you'll go.
01:39So what are you looking at?
01:40What are you dwelling on?
01:42What do you dwell on in your mind?
01:43If you dwell on what is negative,
01:45you're going to go to the negative.
01:48You're going to dwell in the negative.
01:49What do you, what do you want the direction of your life to be?
01:54Good.
01:55God.
01:56Godly.
01:57Heavenly.
01:57Then start focusing on that.
02:00And stop focusing on what is not.
02:02Aware of it?
02:03Yes.
02:03Focusing?
02:04No.
02:05Focus on that which is good.
02:07On that which is heavenly.
02:09That which is of God.
02:10Let that, your heart focus.
02:12You'll know the rest.
02:12But focus on that.
02:14Train your eyes, the eyes of your heart,
02:16to look away from that which is away from where you want to be.
02:21You want to be in that sin?
02:23No.
02:23Look away from it.
02:24Right away.
02:25Because what you look at, your feet are going to go.
02:28Train your eyes to dwell in the direction of what God has called you.
02:32Train your eyes, train your mind, the eyes of your heart,
02:35to be dwelling more and more in what God has called you to.
02:38Believe it.
02:39Dwell on it.
02:40Look where you're going.
02:41And where you're going, look.
02:43Where you want to go, look.
02:45And where you're not going and you don't want to go,
02:47stop looking there.
02:50Now we're going to open up more keys of Nehemiah in the days to come.
02:53But there's so much here.
02:55For practical.
02:57But I want to bring it home with this.
02:59I open up by saying that every one of you has a calling.
03:03Nehemiah is the account of a man with a calling.
03:06Nehemiah didn't make up his calling.
03:08God gave it to him.
03:09Planned it from the foundation of the world.
03:12Same with your life.
03:13You didn't come up with it.
03:15God came up with your calling from the foundation of the world.
03:18It could only come true when you came to him, when you were born again.
03:22But, but you, you have to be part of that.
03:26And, and Nehemiah, as you're coming born again, that's the beginning of it.
03:29Nehemiah is a man who had a calling, had everything go against it.
03:34But he kept going and he finished the course.
03:37Your calling is given to you by God.
03:40So it's not something that you naturally would know.
03:43But it's something you seek for, you discover, you find, it's revealed.
03:46And you say yes to it.
03:48And with God's power you begin rising to it.
03:51If you asked me growing up what was my calling, I would have no idea.
03:55I could only know once I came to the Lord.
03:58Same with you.
03:59And some still seek.
04:00I gave my life to his purposes and then it started unfolding step by step.
04:05Just by following God.
04:06All I had to do was following what I knew, he took me to what I didn't know.
04:10Because it's there.
04:12Even if you know a little bit, take the step on a little bit.
04:15It goes a lot farther than not taking a step on a lot.
04:18That's all you have to do.
04:20Paul just had to go to Damascus.
04:22Straight Street.
04:24Ananias just had to go to Paul.
04:25They didn't have to know everything.
04:27If you know even one step of God's will, take it.
04:30Because it's going to lead you to the next step.
04:33And the next blessing.
04:35And the more you know, the more you have to choose.
04:37Surrender to it.
04:38Go with it.
04:38Say yes Lord.
04:40And having a calling like Nehemiah, you have to value it.
04:43You have to treasure it.
04:45Guard it.
04:46Whatever would take you away, slow you down.
04:48Delay you.
04:50Endanger it.
04:50Put it out of your life.
04:51Not worth it.
04:53Whatever would accelerate the fulfillment of it, go with it.
04:56Choose it.
04:57And have a calling.
04:58Doesn't mean that everything goes smooth.
05:00Without bumps or snags and resistance.
05:02Not for Nehemiah and not for you.
05:05Some of you have had a lot of hardships.
05:07A lot of bumps in your walk.
05:08In your life and your walk.
05:10Obstacles, setbacks, delays, failures, betrayals, abandonment, conflict, confusion, mess ups on your own.
05:19And you gave up.
05:20You stopped.
05:22Or you figured you weren't called anymore.
05:24You lost it.
05:25Or you just didn't seek it anymore.
05:27You didn't know what was happening.
05:28You stopped moving forward.
05:30And the Lord would say to you now, I have not revoked my calling on your life.
05:38And all those setbacks and hardships and attacks and brokenness and frustrations and disappointments,
05:45they did not revoke my calling on your life.
05:48And they do not revoke it now.
05:51In fact, all those things are part of any calling and part of you fulfilling it.
05:56They are part of you becoming victorious and rising over it.
06:00All my servants, the Lord would say, had setbacks and disappointments and even, even mistakes.
06:07And those who came against them, they had all that.
06:10And obstacles from Abraham to Jacob to Joseph to Moses, David, Jeremiah, Peter, Paul, the disciples of God, and Nehemiah.
06:21Nehemiah could have easily given up.
06:23He had no shortage of setbacks.
06:25No shortage at all.
06:26Had discouragement for a lifetime.
06:28But he did not give up.
06:30He refused to let it stop him from fulfilling the purpose.
06:35He kept going.
06:36And when that happened, he kept going again.
06:38He kept going and going and going and would not give up.
06:42And because he would not give up, he overcame them all.
06:46He succeeded.
06:47He finished the course.
06:49He built the wall for Messiah.
06:51He built Jerusalem.
06:52He fulfilled it.
06:52The enemies were vanquished.
06:55The enemy wants to stop you.
06:57The enemy has always wanted to stop you.
07:00If he could have killed you as a baby, he would have done it.
07:02If he could have killed you as a baby, he would have done it.
07:05If he would have stopped you from being saved, he would have done it.
07:07And he is a bruiser.
07:08He is a wounder.
07:10That's what he does.
07:11But don't give him the victory.
07:14He cannot stop you if you don't stop.
07:17You need to do what Nehemiah did.
07:19Take up your mantle.
07:20God has called me.
07:23I will fulfill that calling in God.
07:26Take up your mantle that some of you laid down.
07:29Take it up again.
07:30Rise to the calling.
07:31God would say that I gave you it's time to rise to it.
07:35The hour is late.
07:36Rise to it.
07:37And the world needs it.
07:38And for you who have been weary or pressed down and attacked, do not give up.
07:43Never give up.
07:45Because when you get to the finish line, great, great, great is your reward.
07:49Press on in full confidence, the Lord would say, of my calling in you, of my choosing you, my appointing you, my anointing you, my love for you, my promise for you.
08:02My power in you, rise and fulfill it.
08:07The great high calling I have given you, says the Lord.
08:11And I will be with you and I will anoint you to do it.
08:15For faithful am I who have called you and I will bring it to pass.
