00:00The Knicks, since we last spoke to you, did make it official now.
00:04And they're going to give a lot of money to Mike Brown.
00:07Four-year deal, $40 million.
00:11They're still paying Thibodeau $30 million on the side along with that.
00:16Now, it is what it is, Coach, but I have to believe now that this is all said and done.
00:21They can lie and say whatever they want, and you'll never hear from Leon Rose, so it doesn't matter.
00:25This couldn't have been their plan the day that they sat down and let Thibodeau go.
00:30This could not have been what their vision was that day.
00:35And maybe Brown will do a great job, Coach, but I guarantee you that wasn't the first thing on the drawing board when they fired Thibs that day.
00:43No, the two names that we knew about were Ema, Adolka, and Jason Kidd.
00:47And Houston came out immediately, Mike, and they said he's not going anywhere, and he immediately signed an extension.
00:52Jason Kidd was the interesting one because he never signed an extension, and you were rumbling about when he was going to come.
00:59But at the end of the day, folks got to remember, Dallas is still ticked off with the whole Jalen Brunson thing happened
01:05because everybody knows the Knicks, I mean, he got caught tampering.
01:09I mean, there's tampering, and there's what the Knicks did, which is basically hire the kid's father to be on the staff.
01:15So they basically took care of that tampering by himself.
01:18But when it comes down to Mike Brown, Carver, I think, to me, this is an upgrade over tips, particularly offensively.
01:28Now, when you look at Mike Brown, his teams in Sacramento were really good offensively, right?
01:34He kind of unlocked and got Sabonis playing at a higher level after having Darren Fox, Malik Monk, sixth man of the year, right?
01:41You know, Keegan Murray doing well his first two years.
01:43I don't think he should have ever gotten fired from Sacramento.
01:47That was one of those ones that didn't make sense.
01:50It's not the way the Knicks wanted it, but this is where we're at.
01:53And let's be honest, folks, with the way the East is, right, with Indiana punting,
01:58and we got to talk about that, like, the whole Miles Turner thing, because that is weird, that whole situation, right?
02:04With Boston punting, with Milwaukee, you know, losing Dane, you know,
02:09you're looking at the Knicks and saying, if the Knicks don't make the Finals, this is an epic failure.
02:15This is the first time since probably 1994 when Jordan retired the first time in 93,
02:23where you legitimately say the Knicks are the best team in the East,
02:28and if they don't make it to the Finals, it's a failure.
02:31I'm with you, Coach.
02:33This is a very down East.
02:35There's a lot of opportunities for them here, especially with the team that they've currently built.
